Amazing new series from a master storyteller!
Having devoured (heh heh) Dirk Pattons V Plague series, I was super excited to see where he was going to go with this new book. I'm happy to say it's another home run for this amazing writer. One of the best qualities about Dirk patent as a writer is his effortless character development and his intricately detailed descriptiveness. He somehow manages to take ultra fantastical elements and make them seem completely plausible. If you haven't checked out his other work, do yourself a favor and get book one of the V Plague series, and of course, pick up this book! Can't wait for the next one!

Solid Start to a New Series
As usual the characters are interesting and well developed with likeable protagonists. Although I am not a big fan of the demonic resurrection theme, I will read the rest of the series. Having read all of his previous books, I know this series will be well written and entertaining.

Interesting Read
A different read for me, no zombies or infected people...just demons😬😬
Not sure I can handle this storyline. Good plot, characters good, a lot of action at a good pace.

Good Read
As always this new storyline could grow and be an excellent series. The central characters are for the most part solid but could always be manipulated and added to..I don't know if you could top V plague.

Great book!
Definitely worth your time to read. Not sure what I was expecting but couldn’t put it down till I was done reading the entire book.

It seemed like a lot of different plots all pushed together in one book. I also feel like they didn’t focus enough on some aspects while spending too much time on others

I couldn't put it down!
I read this entire book in 5 HOURS. I couldn't put it down! (Getting up to use the facilities doesn't count) Outstanding story.

A good start on a promising new series, can hardly wait to see where they go from here!
I've been along on the ride from book 1 of his "V Plague" series patiently waiting for each new book as it came out and sorry to see it come to an end. It's hard to say goodbye to friends I met in the " V Plague" series but Dirk left them all in a good place and I'm glad to see he is using his impressive talents to weave a brand new series with a female FBI Agent as his leading character, a manhunt, hunting down a unique serial killer brutally killing his victims all of which experienced severe head trauma.
I like the way the book begins in the opening chapter with a pilot, Albert, smuggling cargo from Canada into the US crashes his plane in the foothills of Washington,. When the pilot can't find his cell phone he follows a trail thru the woods to a pasture of sheep and a barn where he selects a rusty axe to confront the owner for his pickup to get back to civilization and report into the cartel what has happened to their cargo. As he turns to leave the barn the owner, a mysterious very tall man, confronts Albert. Albert raises the axe against owner who touches Albert's head with his index finger and Albert's head splits open as if it had been hit by a heavy sword..
A year later the partner of our heroine, Brody James calls FBI Agent Katarina Daniels to let her know he is picking her up to investigate a reported plane wreckage 2 miles from where the only unidentified body of victim of the Repeat was found.
And so the adventure begins!!

Amazing!
I started reading Dork when he was writing the vplague books. I've read everything he has released since then. This book, well it was just as amazing as everything else that his mind has produced. His amazing characters, the endearing relationships, it all makes for a story that once you start, you won't wan to stop.

Interesting and Very Intriguing Read!!!
Wasn't aware of who the author was until I was queried for a review and WOW! While I'm not at all surprised, as I simply love the bulk of his work, I was pleasantly surprised as I had no idea Mr. Patton dabbled with demons . So glad I was bored and searching for something new because this really filled the void-being bored with the same old same old, wondering when that next "great new read" would grab my attention and run amok with me....this definitely fit the bill. If you're searching for a well written tale, strong characters, fast paced action along with a slightly slanted storyline, toss in an apocalyptic twist, your search is over..... I'd love to see more of Kat and Liam!!!

Wow! Just Wow! Dirk Patton Has Written Another Great One
Katarina has gotten herself in more trouble than she ever thought possible, it’s amazing how what seems to be an easy solution can turn bad so quickly. She doesn’t know the half of it. Things can get worse, much worse as she is about to find out. Who is this man, Zophiel and why does he know so much about her? What is that strange creature she saw? But she has people on her side, too, the Brody brothers are good friends, and then she meets Liam.
The story will grab you and hold on until the book is finished, then it will leave you hoping the next book is coming soon. Fantastic writing, great character development, really evil villains, and really great good guys are all included. You are going to love this book.

WOW, what a great new series. After a few pages, I was sold. Love the story and persons. This will be as great as the V Plague series.
Don`t wanna write about the story here, just get the book yourself and fall in love. PS if you haven't read V Plague you have many good hours in from of you.
I have now read every book Dirk Patton has writhen and he's my new favorite. So MR Patton back to the typewriter I need new books NOW:-)

Wicked
Another brilliant story by Dirk Patton! I was held captive by this storyline, action from beginning to end The battle has begun again between the light and dark good verse evil. FBI Agent Katarina Daniels has learned demons are among us to destroy our world and bring hell to earth. She is accused of murder and hunted by a drug czar. Demons are taking over humans Katarina can see them and needs to destroy them! Omg I am not doing this book justice, I am amazed at the imagination of this book do yourself a favor and start reading you will love it

Awesome Book!!!!
I absolutely loved the entire story and the characters. My only disappointment was at the end. I wanted more. I can't wait for the next book. Hopefully, Patton plans on making this into a series. I would compare The Awakening to books by John Saul and Dean Koontz. It was very well-written, engaging, easy to follow, and enjoyable to read. I highly recommend this book as well as all of Patton's books. He is one of my favorite authors. Give it a try. You'll be hooked from page 1.

Damn, Dirk has done it again!!!
Dirk Patton is a freakin storytelling genius I swear. I dare anyone to start any of his series and not be hooked. His books are filled with awesome characters and the story lines are amazing. I double dog dare ya, just don't start one the night before a work day. You won't want to put it down. This first book is off the charts good and I cannot wait until the next is available. Thank you for all the awesome stories Mr. Patton, please keep them coming!

Decent story with good characters with some childish dialogue
This was a surprisingly entertaining story with generally good writing and good characters. This could and should have been a five star book; however, there were instances where the dialogue was childish and over-done. Without these throw away dialogues and the addition of some stronger detail, this book could have earned a five star rating.

Demons you say?
What a change of pace from the V Plague series! The set up for the start of the action is well written and pulls you into the plot. I am intrigued with your vision of heaven, hell and the abyss, and the example of the pages in a book is ingenious! Loved it!!
And I'm already loving our 2 main characters and can't wait for the next book.

I have really enjoyed dirk’s writings.
The book was interesting and I liked it but ,in my opinion, it is not quite as good as “V”.

Holy Crap......Excellent!!!!
If you are a fan of the plague series, then you are going to be an even bigger fan of this one!!! I stayed up all night to read this in one seeing because I couldn't put it down, it grabs you on page one and holds you until the end. Action after action, this is going to be a kick ass series!!!!

It’s A Page Turner
Kept me reading until I finished. This book was truly scary but not totally unbelievable. Another one hit out of the ballpark Mr. Patton. I truly hope this continues as a series.

I look forward to all of Dirk’s books and this one was worth the wait. It grabbed me from the first chapter and never let go, just like Unleashed did. Dirk really knows how to write an amazing story. I see a great series in the making. Read this book, you won’t regret it.

Excellent Start To A New Series

Great new series, I HOPE!!!
Read the V Plague series and have been on that ride from the beginning. This new set of immensely real and likable characters, which is tough for an old fan...awesome and mind boggly plot, and it’s all based in my neighborhood. Bring it on, Dirk!

Another addictive addition!
I am a 69 year old grandmother and hope I live long enough to read the rest of this series!!! I loved the Plague books and have recommended them to all my friends who look at me like I'm crazy until they actually read them!

A New story line that seriously makes me wonder once again, How does Dirk come up with the twists and turns of his stories.

Not what I expected
Don't like books on demons way off from what his style was given almost like he didn't write it very unlikely to read anything with this story line hopefully he can find another genre
