When Oluomachukwu decided to return to Nigeria to serve her country by registering for the National Youth Service Corps —NYSC — scheme, she didn’t know what to expect. Her first experiences in Lagos, coupled with her personal life issues and activities in camp left her doubting her decision to sign up. But barely two weeks into the programme, she realised that the NYSC scheme had more to offer her than she thought.
Twenty-one days is a wow book, I think that is the word, wow! I kept wanting more at the end of each page.I can read over and over again. kudos c.m. okonkwo.
Fantastic book!! Keeps you at the edge of your seat till the very end. I read this in one day and was hooked from the very first page. I felt like I was with the characters in the books. It is very easy to relate to and I would definitely recommend this for anyone.
C.M Okonkwo is one more writer I can proudly place beside Adichie on my list of best writers. My idea of a good writer is one who depicts relatable situations with skill and knowing experience(or just enough skills to make readers think one has got first-hand experience). Reading this book, I was totally transported to a real-life NYSC camp marking off the days with Oluomachukwu.I just got to say...she sure has loads of cash, living off gala and fanta, orijin and asun for three weeks. I was so shocked when I got to the end, I had forgotten it was only a novel. I will miss "my NYSC orientation experience". Kudos to Okonkwo with her personable characters, one can totally relate with their views or concerns. A gripping page turner with exciting twists. I totally recommend for all: young and old and all who want that camp feel. Upcoming author or not, C. M Okonkwo is a 5-star author and will soon be one great Nigerian icon.
Twenty-One Days is an awesome book. This is the first book I have read that gives a realistic narrative of the NYSC Camp experience. I could relate with the experiences in each chapter. C.M. Okonkwo is an amazing writer. Keep up the good work.
