Joran
I command an elite team of warriors. Lead them into combat, conquer my enemies. How can one human female be so hard to tame?

Once our world was the pride of the galaxy. Now Arythios is gone. Destroyed by evil forces while we were away. Our leaders, our friends, our lovers – all dead. We alone survived. But without offspring, our race will not.

Homeless, hopeless, we begged the Interstellar Federation to help us track down and vanquish our enemies. They ignored our request. Instead, they sent us a handful of females from a primitive planet called Earth. “To see to the needs of your troops,” their ruler said.

I was ordered to choose one of the aliens. Breed with her. My human is stubborn and undisciplined, not like our sweet, gentle Arythian females. Her fiery spirit tempts me to indulge my darkest desires. But if she is to be my mate, she must learn to obey me. She will submit – or she will be punished.

She will be tamed.

Xia
I may be the captive of an alien warlord. But I call no man Master.
And I never will.

A feral child, abandoned in the wild, I survived by being stronger, tougher than the most ferocious beasts. After my rescue, I trained as a warrior. Fighting side by side with the men, yielding to none. Now I’m trapped on an alien warship. The arrogant commander thinks he owns me. He’s determined to turn me into his submissive mate. I’m determined to escape.

I can never let him know I find his dominance wickedly arousing. Stern punishment won’t bring me to my knees – but I’m becoming a slave to the passion he’s awakening in me.

Centauri Captives is a steamy sci-fi romance series from USA Today Bestselling Authors Kallista Dane and Kate Richards featuring masterful alien warriors and the captive Earth women they take as mates in a desperate attempt to save their race from oblivion.

Each book is a stand-alone, introducing a strong smart heroine and a super-hot alien hero locked in a battle of the sexes as old as the Universe.

I enjoyed this book from two authors who I really enjoy, particularly in this, my favorite sub genre, SFR (Science Fiction Romance). The book is very much a space opera format with a super HEA/HFN for the romance component. The sex scenes are hot and contain D/s, BDSM, spanking, discipline, and dubcon/noncom intimate relations, but is not quite as hot as the 1st two books. This book has more back story and character development of its female lead. She is extremely different that most females that I have read about in many similar stories. She fights submission the most and ends up with possibly the most equal mate position of the 3 relationships that we now know are in place in this newly establishing Arythian/Earth culture that is beginning to evolve.

Joran and Xia are quite a bit different from the hero and heroines in the 1st two books in this Centauri Captives series. I got the feeling that Xia may have been slightly older than Joran, although it is not addressed. Both have basically the same position, Starship Commander, prior to Xia's incarceration and subsequent transport by her own government onto an alien space station to cement a planetary agreement without her knowledge or consent. Joran is young and in the midst of his first Starship Command and in planning their war mission.

I did like the HEA in this book the best in this series to date. Hopefully in Conquered - Centauri Captives book 4 we will find out more about how their relationship and the others continues to grow. What is evident at this point is that regardless of the male dominance and discipline, the human Earth women are definitely changing the Arythian culture to elevate their standings as mates. I do like witnessing this evolution and look forward to more or this series.

My favourite of the series so far

Whilst Tamed can very much be read as a stand alone, I do think reading the two previous books (especially book 2) will enhance the experience. With each new book we learn more about the Centauri, the corruption on Earth and the threat posed by the Rydek. Whilst there is good world building, and an explanation of why Xia is on-board an alien space ship, this is a shorter read (novella length), so both are limited.

I LOVED that Xia was a warrior, unwilling to bend or kow-tow even in the face of adversity. Biding her time until the moment was right. It was so good to see a strong female remaining strong, she might submit to Joran but she was never going to be a submissive and obedient female. Joran's thoughtful responses to Xia, and his burgeoning respect for her made this a really wonderful love story too. He was an overbearing as at first, but by the end of the book I loved them both.

For a novella this managed to pack in plenty of action both in bed and out of it! There are some hot scenes both in Joran's cabin and in other rooms of the spaceship not to mention some actual action and adventure segments too. I really do recommend this series, especially if you love hot dominant alpha male aliens!

PS Their skin changes colour and they have extra 'features' that bring great pleasure - what more could you want?

*** This book was provided to me as an advanced copy to review. All views are my own and not influenced by my source.***

Tamed follows a story of a Human Warrior that got kidnapped and handed over to an alien race to help ensure they are able to further their race by breeding with them. Only Xia is headstrong, and doesn't bow to any man, which is exactly what Joran expects her to do. He wants a quiet, respectable woman. Not at all what he got.

This story starts off REALLY well. The Heroin is strong in ways most women can only wish to be. But this ideal is quickly squashed as she turns into Joran's submissive sex slave as soon as he whips it out. She goes from strong to being weak willed and not standing up for herself in a matter of a few pages.
The story doesn't progress naturally where we follow her emotional journey of submitting to Joran and getting emotionally connected to him. It's just fighting and being a warrior the one second, and being a love sick sex slave the next.

This book left me feeling frustrated and feeling like I got whiplash. I wasn't able to connect to the characters at all.

The only good thing I found is that the book is really easy to read. The language used is captivating and well articulated. The story was just lacking.

This is the third book of the Centauri Captives and they just keep getting better. Xia awakens from stasis on a metal table in an unknown location. Joran, who's planet Arythios was destroyed killing everyone except the warriors on the battleships that were away from home on missions. Now the survivors need females to repopulate their species and start new lives. Xia, being a warrior herself, fights Joran all the way through his "training" of her. Joran resorts to cybellus, an ointment of sorts that leaves a stimulating feeling where applied. Xia and Joran have a lot to learn about each other and as they learn, their appreciation of each other improves greatly. This was an exciting, sexy story that I enjoyed completely. I am looking forward to more of the Centauri Captives.

I'm really sorry but I don't like this series

I had started it but never finished and I couldn't remember why so I started reading this one and I remembered not only did it bore me to tears the way they get these women to originally have sex with them is practically rape no matter how they try and write it the aliens rub these women down with this creme that is the equivalent to the date rape drug and when they're out of their minds with need the aliens take them very poor choice of writing in my opinion they could have done so much better with this series

I'm not much into a lot of Sci-Fi stories but this series is really good. Each book gets better. The world building is awesome and you actually feel like you are there with the characters. Joran is a hot and sexy alien who takes on Xia as his mate. She is feisty and stubborn but he will tame her in the end. I loved this and can't wait for the next Centauri Captives book to come out!! If you like Sci-Fi, grab this one!!!

Xia and Joran

This is the third book in the Centauri Warriors series.
The Arythians were left homeless when an unknown assailant attacked their planet and destroyed it. Only a few, who had been off world at the time, survived.

When they asked the interstellar federation for help, only the Terran Chancellor responded, by sending a group of human females for the Arythians to do with as they wished.

When Joran, commander of the Arythian mission to find out who destroyed their world, is told to pick one of the human women, he chooses one he thinks is responsive and welcoming.
Xia, though, was a starship commander. Raised by beasts, she is more warrior than the traditional Arythian women were.
Joran knows he will have to gain her trust before he can make a new family with her...

Another quick and sexy read. Like the others, this book has a little BDSM and some dubious consent, so consider yourself warned.

This book leads us closer to solving the mystery of exactly who destroyed the Arythian home world, and why. Joran is hot in pursuit of the attackers, and Xia’s expertise is a big help.
It’s not a standalone book, you do need to read the others first, as the overarching background story is actually of vital importance!
Recommended for those who enjoy sci-fi romance on the dark side!

This is the third book in the series I have read-and feel I am enjoying each one more as I learn more about the overall plot and the many characters. Joran and Xia are both warriors navigating the battle for dominance in the bedroom. Again, strong Dom themes emerge although just slightly hiding Joran’s desire to protect, nurture and love. Xia is able to analyze some of Joran’s actions and her responses to discover new things about herself. I just wish the book was a bit longer to enjoy some of the HEA warm fuzzy feelings. I received an ARC (Centauri Captives books 1-3 set) in exchange for an honest review

Amazingly, I'm enjoying this series of books.

Didn't think I would, but the aliens are good and moral if rather high handed. The women are strong and well cared for. A different kind of setting, but it works

If you read the last two books, “His Captive Human & Ravished,” you know that the Arythians race will be no more if they do not find a way to bring their species back. During the interplanetary was worlds were destroyed and the Arythians sent a message to the Federation asking for help to track down and fight their enemy. Of course it was refused. Earth feared a war and the leader “Ravensworth” sent a token of Terran goodwill to them. All lies. Human females were sent, given, traded.
Now, the third Commander is to choose a mate/companion. Joran rather not. He had a mated and she and his family died in the war. Xia was not going to let any man tame her not even an alien. She was going to fight. Now, the question I have is, after all this time in the very first book we knew the intensions of Ravensworth but it seems NO ONE has learn to treat the women with a bit more respect. Don’t get me wrong, I love the books. But once the Admiral found his mate and the Commander knew about how the women were chattel, they would have told the other males on all the ships about that and been a bit more respectful. That’s all I’m saying. It’s almost like we are fighting anew again. At least have these guys KNOW about the women before just picking and thinking all is well.
Now back to the book review. Joran is a solid alien. OK yes each Commander/Admiral/Officer will be picking a female to breed and continue the line of their race. But at times, I wish they would at least understand how the women feel. They are not play things. They have feelings. It takes time for them to finally understand that but sometimes at a cost. Xia is a tough cookie and I love that she is a fighter. She needed to feel complete, cared for, and loved. It happens but each journey takes a toll. Learning of what was done was the turning point and final conclusion. Not of the series but of the issues that always drove me nuts.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this somewhat dark Sci-Fi alien romance & it is the third book in the series “Centauri Captives” which is complete & standalone. The plot is well-thought out & written with splendid scene descriptions & unexpected occurrences. The complex characters have unique personalities, one of the characters displays defiance while the other character displays a single-minded determination & deviousness to obtain his goals.
It is about: a group of human females along with a feisty female starship commander & warrior (Xia) who is given to the Arythians aliens & Xia is chosen by an Arythian Commander (Joran) although he has a definite plan to use her as a breeder he soon realizes that he is emotional attracted to her.
There is: twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, enemies, deceit, betrayal, memories, anger, disorientation, confusion, threats, defiance, conflict, punishment, spanking, manipulations, sensual torture, strange attraction, compromises, planetary exploration, attacks, protectiveness, verbal banter, deepening bonds, declaration, acceptance, happiness, love, steamy scenes & a satisfying conclusion. I really enjoyed reading this Sci-fi alien romance & would recommend it.

Given charge of the fleet and commanded to hunt down the Rydek in revenge for the destruction of their world Arythian Commander Joran was not happy with the other command given him.  He was to pick one of the women and breed.  Feeling that the time to both and do them right would be immpossible, but that soon changed as the battle of wills heated up between Joran and his chosen Xia.
As a Starship Commander Xia did not take oders well, and she would call no man Master.  This would not change just because she was in the group of women that was given to the aliens to see to their needs, or the fact that the alien that picked her did things to her body no one else ever had.  But when he needed her help to get out of a life or death situation she found that helping him was more important than her freedom.  This is the 3rd book in this series and though can be read as a standalone it continues the storyline and is best read as part of the series.  Their is no cheating in this book.  Read in exchange for an honest review.

The planet Arythios was destroyed along with all inhabitants except for warriors on various starships who were away from the planet. They were denied refuge from The Federation of Planets, but were given some human women as sex slaves. Since there were no women on the ships, the humans are to be taken for breeding with the warriors. One such female was a former commander in Earth's space fleet, Xia. She was a warrior herself and determined not to call any male her Master. She saw illegal activities and was accused of the crime, thrown in prison and then put on the ship and sent to the aliens. Joran picked her as his mate, thinking she would be easy to control...but that was not the case, as she fought him and was determined to escape. He was soon captivated by her knowledge and experience with ship's systems, but Xia was still determined to leave him, not wanting to become a brood mare...but you will need to read this story to see what happens...I read this book through an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Tamed, hmmm, I don’t think so

If you have read the first two books, the quick standout is that the men are not quick to share the fact that the females that they have been gifted with are not there by choice, and then wonder why they do not submit.
...but after you stop rolling your eyes and just choose to ignore that bit (‘cos it is just a book), then this is an enjoyable book in this series. A simple plot, well written and easy to read

Small spoiler.
The Arythian plant and most of their race has been destroyed and when they asked for help from Earth, the ‘fearless leader’ sent them a females in stasis who were unaware of their fate. Each book has been about the awakening of a female, be she submissive, smart or warrior, I am not sure if this series is about the males not being aware of their fates

...meanwhile the Arythians are trying to figure out who and why they were attacked, and what they do next...

Joran's Mate
by sewsummore

Xia was not happy to find that she was to be mated and impregnated by an alien Arythian Commander. Joran had not wanted or desired to mate with a human, she was very different from their women, a warrior in her own right and not submissive unless forced to be. Respect and eventually love was not what they expected from their union but circumstances forced the realization on them when they least expected it. I really liked Xia, she was a strong and commanding woman who needed a man who was her equal. Joran was a military man that followed orders and expected a mate who be happy to stay at home and care for their children. His respect for his mate grew the longer they were together and I liked that he was able to accept and love her for the woman she was.

This book was better than the other two in that Xia was a strong warrior who . And Joran, unlike his predecessors, realized that constant punishment was not going elicit Xia's trust (a rarity in this genre as this never seems to occur to most H's and the h usually crumbles at the first slap -- thankfully, neither happens here). In fact, Joran was much more sympathetic to Xia than the H's were in other books, another reason I gave this a higher rating.

I do agree with one reviewer that the male characters' initial approach to the women in these stories now takes a huge suspension of disbelief given that the former now knows that the latter aren't there willingly.

I assume at some point we'll see Ravensworth get his due? I hope so.

This is the third installment of the Centauri Captives and I recommend reading them in order just to get maximum enjoyment. The book can stand on its own since the characters from the previous story are only mentioned in passing but by reading all three you can to know a little more information about the situation on Earth that led to all of the women being "given" to the Arythios warriors. While ultimately each woman ends up with a HEA, none of the women are necessarily thrilled to find themselves captive on an alien warship for obvious reasons. This was an enjoyable sci-fi romance with plenty of heat and some action outside of the bedroom as well. Looking forward to where this series will go next as the Arythios continue to battle an unknown enemy while looking for a new home planet.

This is the third book of the Arythios warriors. I missed the second book. This was so very good. Xia is sent with one hundred other females to the Arythois warriors who are the only remaining Arythians left alive. She will be picked by one of the warrior to have his children. Joran picks her and has her sent to his cabin. She is resentful and he is use to being obeyed. The character complemented each other perfectly. They were both strong. Xia wasn't some weak willed human waiting to be taught to submit to any man. It was great to see Joran teach Xia something but even better that Xia taught him something in return. A true partnership. I can't wait until the next book comes out and in the meantime I will read book two.

This sees two strong characters who have an attraction to each other but they both want different things. The male aliens need females so that they can rebuild their race and so Joran takes Xia as his mate, he wants to dominate her and has a different viewpoint of how a partner should behave. Xia is taking none of it, she has had a tough life and learnt how to fight to survive, she may be physically weaker than Joran but she’s tough and intends to give him a run for his money! Although this is a short story it’s packed full of action, conflict, resolution and steamy scenes that all make for a great read. The characters and the world they live in are described very well so they are easy to picture. I loved this story.

Another good read about the Arythios survivors. This is the third in the series. After their planet Arythios was destroyed along with all inhabitants the warriors who are living on various starships are denied refuge from The Federation of Planets. This is their story, a few were given human women as sex slaves to be taken for breeding with the warriors. Xia was a warrior herself a former commander in Earth's space fleet, determined not to call any male her Master and not be his slave. Joran picked her as his mate, but she fought him, determined to escape. Joran soon becomes addicted to his captive as she, shows him her intelligence as a starship commander and fierce warrior. A good read with lots of steam and a HEA.

This is an excellent new series women who were taken from Earth by their leaders to rid themselves of the trouble are given to a race of alien males whos planet has been destroyed. The Arythian's have no females and when they discover humans can breed with them they have soem hop for the future. Xia has been sent away for what she knows of Earths leader a once feral child, star ship commander and fierce warrior she is no ones docile pet. Joran thinks he wants a female like the docile women of his planet but does he really want a warrior to submit to him? This is a dark romance but there is also love and learning to see the best in the person who will always fight for you I loved this and cannot wait for the next book.

The woman are given away like property...
The all male crew are all that’s left of the population of their planet when Arythios is destroyed. The only survivors are the warriors who were away on maneuvers at the time. When they seek assistance and asylum from the interstellar federation they are instead given female slaves to impregnate and use as breeders from Earth. Unfortunately, no one told the Earth women. They are awakened from stasis to a new reality; they are someone’s property a breeder. Xia was a fierce female warrior. Commander of a starship. Now she belongs to Commander Joran. He is determined to train her to be the submissive mother of his future children.
