About the author

I’m a full-time cancer physician (Medical Oncologist). I was born in Newcastle, UK and moved to Brisbane, Australia in 2004. My professional writing credits include over 200 publications including peer-reviewed research papers, journals, book chapters, conference contributions and electronic outputs in the field of Cancer Research.

I’ve always loved sci-fi and dreamed about being an author in this genre as long as I can remember. My reading faves include ‘old school’ legends such as Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, Dan Simmons and Frank Herbert, but I devour almost everything by Alastair Reynolds, Neal Stephenson and Kim Stanley Robinson. Recently I’ve gotten into Richard Morgan and Ann Leckie, and try really, really hard to like Peter F. Hamilton. Also, every time Lee Child brings out a new Reacher I set aside a weekend to just immerse myself in that fabulous character’s mind and world.

It may be a cliché, but yes, I am a Star Wars, Marvel and Tolkien tragic, so if not working or reading or writing, you’ll find me rewatching these movies… and trying to out-quote my two daughters (I usually don’t win).

Finally, I keep fit by cycling as much as I can, and I meditate to stay sane and keep everything in perspective and balanced. My wife, Andrea, can tell you how successful I am at the latter…

Trinity's Fall raises the stakes from the previous book with a much larger sense of danger. I enjoyed how the mystery surrounding Kate Morgan's missing memories unfolded while the invisible Vu-Hak threat kept the tension high. The pacing was fast, and the mix of science fiction, action, and suspense kept me turning the pages. If you enjoyed Trinity's Legacy, this sequel is worth reading.

‘Genocide makes you no better than the Vu-Hak’

Australian author PA Vasey is a Medical Oncologist stepped onto the literary stage with TRINITY’S LEGACY, the first book of his science fiction series, Vu-Hak War, and now offers the much-anticipated Volume 2 TRINITY’S FALL. Vasey may be new to writing novels, but his professional writing credits in Cancer Research are found in over 200 research papers, journals, book chapters, conference contributions and electronic outputs! And now with his success in these first two novels he has demonstrated that he likely will become a permanent fixture in the genre of science fiction novels.

Since this is the second book in his series, for readers not fortunate enough to have read the initial volume, Vasey previously has defined the concept - ‘The Vu-Hak: An ancient and malevolent alien race, once organic, now entities of pure thought, drifting between the stars, limitless and immortal. An alpha species. A species that colonises on a galactic-scale. The portal: A rift in space connecting Earth to the Vu-Hak galaxy. A result of the Cold War’s secret nuclear arms race.’ For a more satisfying backdrop, read that first volume – it will enhance the experience about to begin here!

Sampling Vasey’s fine prose, the Prologue opens the door to this new adventure- He wakes like he’s been plugged into the mains. No sleepiness, no slow warming up. Within seconds his eyes are wide, dreams not just forgotten but erased. He drinks in the feedback of all his senses, but aside form his own noisy breath there is nothing to hear. The walls around him are a sterile white, gleaming, featureless. He is lying in a bed, but he has no idea where he is. It doesn’t look like a hospital. He doesn’t know what time it is or even what day it is. His mind races, and panic begins like a cluster of firecrackers in his abdomen. His heart starts to hammer in his chest and an invisible hand clasps over his mouth. He doesn’t know who he is…’ It is this quality of terror that fills the pages.

A brief overview of the journey ahead is hinted in the wisely suggestive synopsis – ‘The real war is just beginning…and we may already have lost. The Vu-Hak are here. In huge numbers. Invisible. Wraith-like. Has the closure of the wormhole and Adam Benedict’s selfless act of sacrifice been in vain? Why has Dr Kate Morgan had her memory wiped? Where are Special Agent Colleen Stillman and FBI Director William Hubert? Armageddon is only on hold …’

Written with skill and polish usually found only in authors who have extensive novel writing experience, this book delivers a fine cast and unique ideas that, thanks to Vasey’s contemporary language and delivery, continuing to make this fantasy a work with which we can relate. Reading this fine Book 2 of Vasey’s series further establishes our opinion that this author is indeed a major player. Highly recommended.

PA Vasey begins Trinity's Fall (Vu-Hak War Book 2) like you just stepped out of Trinity Legacy, the first book in this series. Dr. Kate Morgan has had her memory wiped and she now thinks she is Sara Clarke, living in Detroit. Since she still works in the medical field it is by chance she is seen by Pete Navarro. He is desperate to find employment since that fateful night when a strange event happened in Indian Springs. With no references, Navarro is excited to find answers when he sees Kate. Their meeting starts a whirlwind of events that will keep you glued to the pages.

I was impressed with PA Vasey's intense writing that places you right where the actions are happening. Trinity's Fall is well-written even though there are different people, or aliens, speaking in one head. The action and suspense keeps your attention while the conflict among aliens and humans is extreme. Kate can sense the Vu-Hak, but others cannot. I look forward to the final novel.

In the second book in an exciting series, The Vu-Hak have finally arrived on earth. They are without bodies and comprised of pure thoughts, which means they can possess us at their whim, and we are essentially non the wiser. A wormhole that was opened up during experiments back during WWII has finally been closed in the last book, but was it too late for us? And why does Dr. Kate Morgan no longer remember anything? Where are the Special Agents and FBI Director from the first book? There are plenty of questions that will finally be answered and resolved in this book, only to open up more mysteries for the next book to answer.
I highly recommend reading the first book in the series otherwise not much will make sense until you are far deeper into the book. This can prove frustrating for some, so definitely read the first book so you have a good grasp on the story.

Sci-fi story with mystery and suspense

This is a good follow up in the series as an invasion of creatures swarms the world threatening to bring to life the aliens taking over. When Adam selfless acts to save mankind have fallen short and the Vu-Hak are seen as the invaders of the human world, who will step up and save the planet? This story is well written with quality characters and storyline. The story has a good flow and the pace will keep your attention from the first page. Very enjoyable read and a great distraction from the stress of everyday life. Check this one out if you like sci-fi and mystery. You will not be disappointed.

A Sci-Fi lover’s jackpot

Trinity’s Falls is your typical Sci-Fi novel where a habitat is under attack from some mysterious creature. Nothing really sets it apart from its counterparts story wise but it is impressively solid with fleshed out characters and a well-laid plot line. I didn’t read the first novel in this series but was able to easily catch up on what was going on. A solid read for any Sci-Fi lover.

Still a good sf read, but I liked the first one better. I'll eventually read the third one, but I'm taking a break.
