Rate this book

A suspenseful SciFi mystery from the author of "Chipless" and "The Evelyn Project".

What would you do if you woke up one morning and found that the people you trusted are not who you thought they were? But then, reality can be what you make yourself believe it is, even when things that others do and say don't add up.

That's what happened to Richard in his professional life; and now his family has changed too, subtly but undeniably. He needs to discover what on Earth is causing an impossible chain of events, but when he puts the pieces of the puzzle together, they form a picture that makes no sense.

Unless those pieces are not from Earth.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Once Awakened by Kfir Luzzatto had an interesting way of narrating the story that it made me forget that it was a story about aliens.
Can aliens be real?
Richard Luster
Richard Luster is our main character and our only point of view character. We follow him as he is being interviewed and telling someone what he has gone through for the past few months. Richard is a gripping character that makes the reader hang onto his every word. He has gone through a lot in this novel and doesn't know what to do with most of the knowledge that he acquired because not a whole lot of people believe him anymore.
The Mystery
The mystery is whether or not he can unsurface the truth about what he first thought was one person but is now three. He doesn't know what to think about any of this new information as he keeps gathering intail throughout. Each person he recruits bails on him until he has no one left but himself. That is the hardest part for Mr. Luster, especially as a patent lawyer, to not have any help trying to oust these three people.
Four Stars
Once Awakened by Kfir Luzzatto is written so beautifully that I was following the clues with the main character and saying things out loud to make sense of them. It was an extravagant piece of writing. Mr. Luzzatto is a superb author, and I can't wait to read another book of his. I am giving this book a four-star rating and recommending it to any SCI-FI readers or even just fans of the author's work.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Once Awakened by Kfir Luzzatto.

Thoroughly Entertaining. This is the third book I’ve read by Kfir Luzzatto, and I’ve really enjoyed each one of them. Besides having great characters and an interesting plot, it’s the unexpected twist In the story that I wasn’t expecting that made this such a fabulous read.
Richard Luster thought he was doing ok. He had a loving family, and a job he seemed to be quite good at. Sure, he wasn’t setting the world on fire, but he was happy. For some reason Richards wife wasn’t so happy about his new clients Paula and Daniel Vargo. Yes, he was spending a lot of time with them, but who wouldn’t be if they were going to make him a rich man. Daniel was a doctor and he believed he had stumbled across a cure for cancer, and he needed Richard’s company to put a patent on it, before anyone else got hold of his discovery. Richard just didn’t realise how dangerous the new cure was going to become. Great book, and I really enjoyed the ending. 5/5 Star Rating.

I didn’t enjoy this at all. I skimmed part of it because it dragged on an on and on. Seemed repetitive to me.

Just not my cup of tea

Captivating but rushed ending

This book held my interest fairly well. I enjoyed the characters and settings throughout the story. I had several theories in my head but I had not foreseen the twist by Luzzatto. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys sci-fi. With all of that said, I wasn't a fan of the ending. It felt rushed and somewhat incomplete. I liked the story ending.... just not how it was executed. He didn't ask if Becky would return to normal or about his future at all. He didnt ask what the goo was. He didn't dig deeper into their plans and what exactly Phase 2 would require of him. Even the extraterrestrial buff didn't seem to believe him at the end which I find hard to believe. I understand he would require evidence to push it at the office but as someone who just learned that everything he believed about aliens was true, i feel as if he would've stayed out of curiosity and a lot of questions. Overall, I enjoyed it. There were merely things I would have preferred went a bit deeper in at the end.

Science Fiction on it’s head

When a simple patent attorney gets a call from a doctors wife asking for help for her husband a doctor and researcher that has developed a cure for cancer the game is a foot. Appreciated the intrigue and plot twists and what an ending. Really enjoyed it

Little Green Grifters

This is one dandy, un put down-able book. The narrator’s voice is perfect. The concept is original. A great sci-fi thriller, right up to the last sentence of the epilogue.

Rather sweet sci-fi story about aliens carrying out a massive money scam and an unwitting human who tries to find out whats going on. Reads like it's someone's homework rather than that of a professional. But it's none the worse for it.

It leaves you hanging

It took half of the book just to get to the point where they wanted you to be. I found myself getting really bored but decided to read on. Just when it started to get interesting, it leaves you hanging.
