Wrong Direction

Rate this book
It’s Alvaro’s last year of college and he’s on track to graduate at the top of his class. He’s working toward a degree in a field he loves and even managed to score one of the coveted singles in the nicest upperclassmen dorm. There’s only one problem. Daniel. The guy whose single is attached to the other side of the connecting bathroom. The mess Alvaro could maybe ignore. The wet towels, balled up socks, and bottles and bottles of bubble bath. It’s the singing he can’t take. Every night it’s the same. Daniel takes a bubble bath and murders another of Alvaro’s favorite songs.

One night, Alvaro stomps into the bathroom, ready to halt the mangling of another musical memory. But his feet fly up and his head smacks down. Daniel hops to the rescue in all his wet, bubble-covered glory, and a relationship begins that will continue to set Alvaro reeling.

Until now, Alvaro’s life has been heading in the right direction. But can an attraction this strong—even to a guy who doesn’t organize his socks—be all wrong?

Wrong Direction is a sweet and sexy novella with lots of clumsy mishaps, cute dates, and deep thoughts about life’s multiple directions.

Holy cuteness, batman!

Could this story be any sweeter?

Wrong Direction brims with lightness and humour. I laughed out loud many times.

This story is about two college boys who are complete opposites but so right for each other. Alvaro is uptight and organized down to his sock drawer.

Daniel is ... NOT.

The guys share a bathroom, and Daniel's discarded towels and off-key singing drive Alvaro crazy. Alvaro barges in to give Daniel a piece of his mind, but Daniel is ... well, he's naked. And wet.

Features: bubbles baths, the smell of mangoes, accident-prone boys, and some steamy lovin' (in the bathroom and, finally!, on a real bed).

This story is lovely and so much fun. The ending is a strong HFN. I would gladly read more about these MCs!

Quite the nice college story about 2 guys that happen to share a bathroom in the dormitory and the shenanigans they find themselves embroiled in. I kid you not - lots of bodily harm, nakedness, and bubble baths abound!

One would think this was simple silly fluff, but it was deceptively poignant and spot on with the emotions, the insecurities, and the doubts.

Add very endearing characters with surprising depth, this was funnily absurd as well as sweet and sexy.

Kelly Jensen has not failed to impress me with her writing. I enjoyed myself very much!

All of the stars from me for this one.

It was as if this was written just for me. I absolutely loved every word. It made me GIDDY. I'm talking full-on, fourteen year old school girl, giddy.

I got a kick out of the humor. Really laughed out loud quite a few times. The guys, with all their insecurities, were so cute. I wanted to visit Alvaro's family farm and I just wanted to hug Daniel most of the time.

The sexy times were smokin hot yet still sweet. And, AND the romance was all out swoon worthy. *still swooning*

I'm so sad it's over and I want more! More Alvaro and more Daniel PLEASE, Kelly Jensen!!!

Thank you to the author for this story and thank you to all of the volunteers who make this event possible!

Holy flapjacks.
This story was as sweet as a ripe mango. And the sexy times were hot.

Now I would love to have a bubble bath.

Edited due to flagging.

Sweet college love that starts as a comedy of errors and ends with sighs.

Adorable novella about two college guys who share a bathroom, with one being a neat freak, and the other a hot mess. Still, they find common ground, and once Alvaro pulls his head out of his "I got this all planned" ass, they even find love.

Super adorable, holy hot boysecks, Batman - what's not to love.

Thanks to the author for participating and offering this freebie.

Light, bright, entertaining - exactly what I was in the mood for.

Two accident prone college students bumping heads, bumping uglies; frequently naked, soapy and driving each other delightfully crazy. A little slap-stick but not in a way that annoyed me!

So much character comes across from the very start that it was a delight to read. The story is a simple one with just enough to give it feels. Vȏ sounded lovely.

My one complaint is a sudden craving for Mangos.

Holy flapdoodle! That was one fun read.

Alvaro and Daniel are two college students who lucked out in their final year by scoring their very own single rooms. Unfortunately (or fortunately) they have to share a bathroom.

This doesn't always work for Alvaro (the neat freak), who finds himself constantly cleaning up after Daniel (the slob). Alvaro is also going slightly crazy from all of Daniel's bath-time singing medleys. Sure, it's endearing, but the guy can't sing a tune to save his life and it's driving Alvaro batty. On the plus side, Alvaro finds himself ridiculously attracted to Daniel, with his overly happy vibe and sexy Viking looks, not to mention his serious case of puppy dog eyes.

The story follows Alvaro and Daniel as they find themselves constantly clashing (sometimes literally) in their shared bathroom. The shenanigans are at an all-time high in this seriously funny, satisfyingly sexy story. There may be some awkward encounters and a bunch of painful bubble induced accidents, but there's also a significant amount of wet, soapy nudity--so there's that!

Two enthusiastic thumbs up!

This made me laugh! Their bathroom needs an asbo, it's a dangerous place.

A great read, thanks. :)

Hmmm I couldn’t really connect with the characters….

About two college boys that are each other’s opposites. They have very little in common but they keep “meeting” in their shared bathroom!!

About mango’s, awkwardness and bubbles…

My thought’s bounced and swirled. “I missed you.” Had I said that out loud? “And I think I might love you,” Well, flapdoodle. A skinful of painkillers and I was confessing my soul.

“You know, when you smile like that I think I might more than like you, Alvaro.”

Adorable, sexy, funny; I can't settle on just one. See this picture?

That one scene, *sighs* is so much better than I could have imagined. There's a sweetness and urgency with these two boys that evolves into a great, big ball of sexy and funny, and it fits them perfectly.

Alvaro couldn't be more organized in his life if he tried. He's so determined to prove himself that he's terrified to deviate from his plan. Daniel on the other hand, is the essence of messy. Between the bubbles and clothes everywhere, to the possible dead rat in his closet, you'd think he'd be just as out of control in personality. Surprisingly, that's not the case. When sex turns to the possibility of something more, it's Alvaro freaking out and Daniel staying steadfast.

There's a lot of bumps, literally, along the way, but when these two have their moments together, it's like savoring chocolate <-- definitely worth it.

A cute story, with a nice little HFN, this is a very entertaining short read.

Bubble baths never looked so good

This is a cute, very funny college story.

Alvaro has a single dorm room, but he has to share his bathroom with Daniel. Daniel, who leaves all his bubble bath stuff on the floor, who sings off key and doesn’t know how to clean up after himself. A match made in heaven!

This book is filled with funny moments. I loved it.

My left foot got lost. One second it was under me, the next it had kinda flown up into the air.
(..)
I tried to sit up. Daniel helped by putting his cock in my face. I mean, it was right there, dripping white soap that looked a heck of a lot like something else onto my sodden T-shirt. He had his arms around my shoulders and was actually hauling me toward my seven seconds in heaven. I opened my mouth, wondering if it would fit.

Lots of sweetness in this one with a little bit of angst, but not too overwhelming. Two great guys, lovely romantic moments and hot sex.

It was awesome.

Totally disarming short story, hinged on a possibly fallacious assumption that putting two attractive college boys in two dorm rooms with a shared bathroom will inevitably, repeatedly, result in head traumas and various kinds of naked, soapy shenanigans.

I dare anyone to resist the first chapter:

Soap ran down the line between his abs and my gaze followed because I’m gay, and when I’m led to cock, I tend to follow. (...)

“Ugh.” Eloquence is me.
I tried to sit up. Daniel helped by putting his cock in my face.

P.S. Don't resist!

Not a fan of slapstick but this was really good. The bathroom did try to kill the characters but it also brought them together. Interesting story and great writing.

Great job!

This was such a fun, sweet story. I loved Al's relationship hang-ups and the fact that Daniel had an obsession with scented bath stuff. As always, Kelly created real people that I was thrilled to spend some time with.

Sweet, funny read with two extremly clumsy college boys having lots of bathroom loving. I don't quite understand Al's rather dramatic reactions to not wanting relationship, but oh well, the drama didn't last long. Highly enjoyed it.

Most of the action takes place in the shared bathroom for these two college students. And Alvaro is especially prone to stumbles there. Especially since he’s sharing it with the cute Daniel. Careful, the bathroom can be a dangerous place. OR... a place of seduction.

This is a light, cute read, with some sweet tenderness. It’s well rendered and nicely addresses the story prompt. This is what I love about the DRitC writing event— it introduces me to new authors. I’ll be checking out more of this writer’s stuff fo sho.

Big shoutout to my Goodreads friend Iuri who was in all things Brazilian in this read.

Three things: mangoes, bathroom, and injured body parts. This was incredibly funny at first with a very fast pace. But somewhere in the middle towards the end, it just became painfully slow and contrived. But this was okay. Though, not really impact-ful.

I loved this story, it is just what I needed. It was funny and I bursted out laughing a few times. But it also had rounded out characters, and I liked that the author showed what they liked about each other. It is also like an advert for bubble bath.

I am regretting SO MUCH that it took me so long to read this! (Sorry Kelly, I got really overloaded here x.x)
Now that I'm done with guilt, let me say how AMAZINGLY CUTE this story is! I really really love this sort of cute romances where the characters are so obviously into each other but one of them struggle with things relationship-wise. Here it is beautifully told, through encounters in a shared bathroom - half messy, half tidy.
Both Alvaro and Daniel are nice characters and I do think they would be good material for a full length story. Also, the dialogues with Alvaro's vovó were so cute! It was all really cute, and heart-warming and very very nice to read.

A bright five-star story that made my morning so much better!

Btw, if you've noticed the name in the Acknowledges session, yep, that's me! Thank you Kelly for letting me be a part of this amazing love story.

There was a LOT of tenderness in this story, between two opposites who couldn't seem to stay away from injuring themselves at the bathroom (*lol*). It did warm my heart because the way that they took care of one another was very sweet. Unfortunately, the writing itself didn't really click with me. I had trouble to connect with Alvaro as the main narrator.

So many grins, lots of laughter.  I loved it until Alvaro was an idiot.  I have no patience for that kind of story conflict, so I wasn't happy.  But then it was sweet and I loved it again.
