There were only two things in the world that could distract Luke McAllister and come between him and his ability to think clearly: a beautiful woman and a woman in distress. Unfortunately for him, Callie Johanssen happened to be both. So when he came across her all alone and scared out in the expansive prairie, he was helpless to ignore her. Still, there was a small voice in the back of his mind telling him to just walk away, to not look back and to let someone else take on the responsibility of getting her to her destination. But Luke had never been good about listening to that voice, no matter how right it always turned out to be.
5 STARS for the 3rd Book of the McAllister Series that introduced Like who his Mother put in charge & sent on a cattle drive of roughly 1,000 head. This Is an Old West Era Drama that has some gunslinger type Shoot-em up action that will delight the reader, characters to love plus some to build up a mighty hate against, love for Luke to be a Hero to his Lady, and the land that was bought by the government however is now in question. So, this is the 3rd brother and no disappointments. Now, I would like to see these 3 get together to build Luke& Callie's home with brother Samuel there also. Furthermore, it would be great if Tom & Cole were to live in between Luke & the main ranch of the family where Samuel will be located & maybe Cole. A McAllister could ride off to visit or their children and be at the other family's place on less than a days ride be really great! If it was real life.
