Rate this book

A lonely woman...
A wounded warrior...
Can thirty days change their lives?

When Sarah is imprisoned for violating one of the alien invaders' laws, she discovers that there is more at stake than just her freedom. In exchange for a thirty day breeding contract with an alien warrior, Sarah will not only obtain an early release but she will have a chance at the one thing her deceased husband couldn't give her - a child!

Life has taught Sarah that happiness doesn't last. Everyone she has ever loved has been taken from her, even the alien warrior who touched her heart so many months ago. Now she has just thirty days to convince him to stay forever!

Six months ago, T'gana felt an instant bond with a quiet Earth female. Forbidden from pursuing her by Yehrin law, he transferred to a battle position. Now, wounded inside and out, he returns to claim his female, even if thirty days of happiness is all he is allowed. After all, how can he expect her to accept a broken warrior?

Just as Sarah and T'gana start to break down the barriers between them, outside forces threaten to destroy their second chance. Can they overcome not only their own fears, but those determined to tear them apart?

Not one book in this series has been a disappointment! I don’t know how she does it but Honey keeps on delivering!
The romance is sweet and there’s always a good story to go along!
I can’t wait for the next installment!

This Alien Romance rocked

This book in this series was much better than the last one. The characters were realistic and acted real. I loved the addition of the two little girls. The tragedy of war really were heartbreaking and dealing with ptsd was difficult for the warrior. I loved that Sarah was so loving she saw past what anyone might see as shortcomings. But I think these aliens might be learning from their mates. I loved this story.

The other day I was feeling in the mood for something basic. Forget all the hearts and flowers... I wanted steamy sex.... In the pages of a book of course. My husband calls these types of novels “Lady Porn” and I suppose that fits. On a whim I googled “alien breeder romance novel” and up popped this book. I thought “Hay, I really like Honey Phillips!” so I clicked on the stupid looking cover of the horribly named novel and dived right in.

I must admit I was pleasantly surprised. Although it has some sex, the couple knew each other previously, and the sex wasn’t really THAT explicit.

Instead, what I found was a novel about adjusting to a new reality, putting duty, or responsibility, before personal desires, dealing with the grief of loss from both miscarriage and a dead spouse, bravery in the face of infertility, and life with PTSD and long term injury. That’s an awful lot of heavy stuff to pack into one smutty romance novel.

So I have a plea to a Honey Phillips and all of the other romance writers out there, especially in the alien romance genre. Please, please give your novels better titles. I am so sick of the lame “sold to the alien general” or “the alien princes’s secret baby.” This was actually a decent novel with some really salient social issues and it deserved a decent name. Secondly, when dealing with aliens, I actually want aliens; not just large humans with nubby cocks. Also, although horns are OK, the horns on this particular cover, and in this series, are atrocious. You put so much effort into the guts of this novel, please give its outsides a little dignity.

I had trouble accepting an alien hero with PTSD, especially since his species is that which has engaged in wars and is a warrior race for more than a thousand millennia. But despite the billions of warriors, this one who is fairly high up in command has PTSD? Err... no, that reads like lack of imagination and a whole lot of plot desperation.

Moving on to the "bug planet, Klenda" where the hero was traumatized beyond return to begin with, readers are left with that nagging thought of "hmm, where have I heard of this before?". Well there was a book-turned-cult classic film called Starship Troopers where the military forces fought alien bugs from the planet "Klendathu". Kind of tacky to use the same species and shorten the planet name to label it as original fiction, huh?

It's possible the story is entirely original fiction, but most of it reads as a combination of popular fictional sources poorly masked and rewritten to fit here. For this reason alone, I would not recommend this series to anyone.

3.25 stars for this extremely sweet alien romance🤌🏼 T’gana left Sarah and broke her heart months prior to the story’s start. 😬 But despite Sarah ending up at a breeding center her heart never left T’gana, and he shows up demanding she sign a breeding contract with him. But T’gana is trying to protect himself and Sarah from the pain of his service 😩

This is the first alien book I’ve read that has covered PTSD, and made it a backbone of the story. I have so much respect for the author’s approach to this with nuance and compassion. 🙏🏻 T’gana is truly a troubled guy. He doesn’t feel like he deserves Sarah and legit tries to leave her multiple times 👀😅 but Sarah shows up for him. She helps him through a depressive episode. She loves him when he doesn’t love himself though and pushes him just enough ♥️

I didn’t hate the whole breeding center situation. 😂 Yeah it was weird and uncomfortable but it’s also an alien romance- weird comes with the territory 🤷🏻‍♀️the aliens also have blue jizz. Just as a heads up 😂 but the overall world was actually really cool. I mean apart from imprisonment and colonization 😬 I did like the book as a comfort read. There weren’t any surprises. There was no third act breakup. And there’s the whole family vibe that was extremely heartening.

However, I’m not thrilled at the baby talk 😅 Sarah has these two neighborhood girls she’s basically a surrogate mom for that she does take care of. But she’s basically adopting them before the dad’s even dead (he dies by the way 👀 which you totally see coming because how else would you get the happily ever after with a family 😐). It’s uncomfortable. And Mae’s crazy is just swiped over. We don’t know what happens to her. We don’t get closure on why she turned on Sarah so quickly. And the bigotry against alien-human couplings is mentioned but only surface level 😑

Basically I liked some parts and wasn’t impressed by others. But overall I did enjoy this read! It’s cozy sad alien vibes.

What I liked:
Alien smut
Tortured hero
Breeding
Claiming
Fated mates
Thicccc heroine
Fertility troubles
World development
Alien on earth

What I didn’t like
Besides what I covered above, I felt like the book could’ve been shorter for the quality we got. 🥱

I loved this!

I love this story, but for different reasons than I did the rest of the series. (Actually, I love each book in this series for different reasons, and that's a sign of a great series!)

Not only do I love the pair's pre-injury relationship, I appreciate what developed after. I like how Sarah was strong and determined to help T'gana, but she didn't push so hard that she accidentally heaped on the guilt/shame of not healing mentally fast enough.

The natural inclusion of the girls in the healing process, and T'gana's willingness to allow that was delightful. I loved the image of little Tabitha and him going through martial arts forms. It is an image that will linger in my memory.

I especially appreciated how T'gana's physical and mental hurdles were handled. His frustration, anger, and depression over his injuries are sympathetically (and probably accurately) portrayed. It's tough for men of action and purpose to find both suddenly curtailed. Add to that the week of being pinned down by the enemy and watching his unit get whittled down slowly... I can't imagine what that would be like.

From what I've read, her description of a PTSD attack is accurate. The delving into his mind was excellently done. Showing his shutdown from his point of view, the description of the unrelenting darkness and the struggles to pull out of it, were excellently done as well.

I really liked Sarah's patience. Her balance of letting him hide sometimes and finding non-confrontational ways of luring him to stay with them, ways that made him feel useful and needed without pressure or guilt, seemed a great way to handle it. Her love, that of the girls, and her acceptance of his struggles allowed him the time, support, and encouragement/purpose to stay connected and not drift away.

It's what I love about this series. They are love stories as well as romances.

A SciFi Alien Romance ❤️Sarah & T'gana❤️

I was very excited to read Sarah & T'gana' story. They both held a special place in my heart from the previous book. They are both so kind with such big hearts.

To maintain his honor, T'gana leaves Sarah to finish out the remaining six months of the forbidden cycle. T'gana ends up on a brutal planet with his Yehrin Warrior squad battling extremely hard to kill giant alien bug things that are super smart. He is horrifically injured & more than half of his squad of 30 warriors are killed. He makes it back in time, barely, for Sarah's breeding contract, but he is not the same Yehrin Warrior who left her. He has severe PTSD, flashbacks, triggers & a badly mangled leg. He feels he is unworthy of Sarah, but he wants to give her the child she has always longed for.

There are lots of heartbreaking parts & so many beautiful ones as well. What these two survive & create is absolutely beautiful. This is my favorite book in the whole series. Even the sexy stuff was sweet & beautiful with these two.

Even alien soldiers suffer PTSD

There’s hurting, and then there’s HURTING. Alien Breeder features two characters who are HURTING. Sarah has suffered miscarriage, been widowed, and her clinging vine mother-in-law is indirectly responsible for Sarah’s imprisonment by the Yehrin for curfew violation. Then there’s T’Gana, the Yehrin warrior who feels so tempted by Sarah that he runs off to some barren planet to fight a vicious enemy rather than act on his attraction. The battle leaves him permanently disabled, unfit for active duty, and ineligible for a mating contract. Not to mention the PTSD induced flashbacks... She’s still fighting for her dreams, but he’s deep in depression. Still, they manage to get together, and together they manage to obtain what neither could have alone: love, family, and HEA. Lots of action and a bit of tear-jerking occurr in the meantime, enough to keep readers turning the pages and grabbing the tissues. Good stuff!

The Best One Yet

While I've enjoyed the series so far, ( for the most part); although there were some things I could have done without; the story of Sarah and T' Gana has been the best so far. I was genuinely moved by T'Gana's struggles to deal with his PTSD. He wanted so much to be worthy of Sarah and the two little girls who came into their lives and needed them both; but he kept viewing himself as both unworthy of them and as flawed and defective after he was badly wounded in battle on another planet. This story not only had the usual steamy sex scenes; but it also had genuine love, compassion, devotion, and bravery. If you don't read any other story in this series, be sure to read this one. Despite the inference the title might have; Alien Breeder was, in my opinion, the best one yet.

T’gana and Sarah and a miracle

T’gana saw Sarah and liked her straight away. Sarah was I the breeding program that was happening in six mts. The women had been transferred to a facility on Earth and Sarah used to go for walkers with T’gana. Then he was gone and Sarah didn’t know why. When it came time to pick the person she wanted to father her child Sarah rejected the first two and just as she was going to accept the guard T’gana came to claim her. He was injured and wouldn’t let Sarah see his leg or body. To help T’gana Sarah suggested they move to her house on Earth there a neighbours two little girls kept coming over to see them. I’m not going to spoil the rest

When you read for smut, but there is actually a somewhat decent plot :P (A guilty pleasure, so to speak. I don't read that often, but when I do, I read a few novels within a short period of time.)

Writing was good, which is hard to come by in this genre, so I was glad for that. There was also a plot, which was unexpected, and the details were good. The author did put some thoughts in this. The woman was not 18 nor was she a virgin! So glad for that :D She was also past 30.

Not a lot of smut and what was there was OK, but did not blow me out of the water. Not a lot for the length of the novel, so if that is what you are looking for, it might be better to skip. On the plus side, the male is not a jerk, so props for that!

Sarah perhaps has the most in depth storyline and her mate is actually lovable. Sarah was previously married, she is eldest of the female friend group, she lives near a bum that doesn't care for his own daughters, and Sarah has always felt as though she is not good enough. She struggles with infertility as she watches several other females around her become pregnant almost instantly. Her mate is not only struggling with the fact that he had to leave her to enter into a war but that now he is back, PTSD is haunting him. Flashbacks and nightmares are haunting his daily life. He covers up his scars and tries to hide his flesh from Sarah. His guilt, shame, and devotion for wanting the best for Sarah, all make him one of the best lead male characters.

Another great story! I love the way the author writes the steamy romance along with the sweet scenes. T'gana has PTSD as a result of a very dangerous mission. T'gana seems to come back to himself when the two little neighbor girls, Jane and Tabitha, visit T'gana and Sarah at their house. Those little girls are neglected but find their place with Sarah and T'gana. The precious little girls bring love to Sarah and T'gana. Sarah and T'gana are in a breeding contract for 30 days although Sarah keeps being disappointed when she finds she is not pregnant. Once T'gana claims her as his mate, the results are positive. Lots of mental and physical obstacles along the way to their happy ending.

DROPPED.

Despite liking to torture myself with male leads who think the women are too good for them, this was a pain in the literal ass. Firstly, I wasn't invested in the MCs relationship - as in - when they first met in the previous books. I could see the plot coming from a mile away, and since there were no surprises, I got bored. Coupled with I wasn't interested in the leads at all...my mind started drifting. And lastly, the way the MMC kept denying himself and the heroine was only bringing them both pain.

Naturally, there's a HEA, but this definitely wasn't one of my favourites from this author.

Better

Almost gave up after the last book in the series. Daddy! ugh!

This one was a meeting if equals, In fact Sarah helped T’Gana threw a terrible bout of PTSD. Definitely a much better read than the quasi pedophilic tones of the previous book in the series.

Sarah is a widow caught out after curfew who forms a bond with a Yehrin warrior who disappears to wait out the Forbidden cycle. He returns to her just in time to stop her forming a breeding contract with another alien.

They work together through the scars of both their pasts.

Alien Breeder

I was so relieved when T'gana showed up before her third choice. You should read this series in order as most characters are reoccurring. They had some trouble with his version of PTSD, but her love for him helped him cope for a little while, until another incident drove him into a pit of self doubt. Thank goodness for his 3 girls. After another dangerous adventure they finally got their HEA.

When you write a book about something you should do your research. Human women give or take depending on each individual ofcs and the length of their cycle can get pregnant one week in a month. No matter the male seed. Otherwise the book was nice. Nothing special. I don't like much books where the hero thinks he can't be with the girl because of his flaws. Or that he is damaged. It's like wake up man. The world is full of problems. Don't go making new ones where there none.

Alien Breeder. , damaged souls meet

I enjoyed this writing tremendously. My heart went out to both main characters. It’s like two damaged souls find their way home, but need to figure it out.
The two little girls just tear your heart out. So adorable.
The past collides with the present and creates chaos. But in the end.....

Sarah's desperate desire for a child leads her to contemplate actions she may never have considered before. T'gana's desire for her, despite the "dishonour" he feels due to his injury, sets the path he needs. But it's the addition of 2 little girls who really make this story pop. "tigga" is one of my favorite heros - kind, caring, hurt, broken and hopeful.

I stumbled across Honey when I had finished another authors books. I have been on a bit of a sci fi romance blitz. Just something to get lost in other than the norm. Where you can do what you want because it is sci fi.

Trust me you will not be disappointed. I enjoyed this one so much that I am now working my way through all her books. Gotta love Kindle Unlimited.

Alien breeder

PTSD is a difficult disorder for the recipient and the loved ones. This story handles the proud warrior with great patience assisted by his neighbour's daughters. Sarah is a heartwarming character who keeps the home fired burning.

This one was good.

You were introduced to the main characters previously in the series, and the background filled out their personalities. Throw in a crazy MIL,2 adorable little girls, fanatics, and PTSD and you have an entertaining story.

This is a great, well written, Alien/Human romance. The characters are very real with lots of emotion and heat. They had met 6 months earlier but both had problems to overcome before they could become mates. Read and enjoy.

an enjoyable book!

I enjoyed several things about this book. I liked the young little girls in it, the house fire was very scary and the crazy old lady with the gun. There was a lot happening and it was quite entertaining.
