Indulge in three delicious tales of true love! In Dating Mr. Right, you’ll devour an online dating meets secret identity romance, a friends-to-lovers plus best friend’s brother scorcher, and a story of a pair of jaded lovers bitten by the insta-love bug, and an office romance with an age difference.
Lucky Suit... I'm breaking up with set-ups. No more “can I introduce you to my son, nephew, grandson, the butcher, the guy down the street who mows my lawn.” Machines know what’s best, and I’ll rely on the great dating algorithms of the web to find the ideal man, thank you very much.Soon enough, it looks like I’ve found him -- his nickname is Lucky Suit, and he’s hilarious, quick-witted and full of heart. But when I finally get together with him in person, I have the distinct feeling I’ve met him before.Turns out there's more to our meeting than I had thought, and when we discover what truly brought us together, all bets are off.
Once Upon A Red-Hot Kiss... A man needs to stay far away from falling into bed with his best friend.Even if she’s sexy as sin, sweet as candy, and damn near irresistible every single day.But not only are Macy and I best friends, we’re also complete opposites. She’s perky, upbeat, outgoing and I’m . . . how shall we say . . . a little bit broody. Then, she reveals something to me that just might lead me to revise all my rules on friends in bed...
Too Good To Be True… To say I’m wary of love would be an epic understatement. Keep that four-letter word far away from me. But then a matchmaker friend insists she can pair me with the perfect man for me.Even when sparks fly and chemistry crackles from the first date, I refuse to believe this kind of insta-connection can be the real thing.Even though for the first time it feels like it could be. Or is it just too good to be true?
Strong Suit (a short story)…
From the day I meet Ginny in the conference room, I’m smitten with the co-worker who’s ten years my senior. And I’m going to pull out all the stops to win her over.
You can find Lauren on TikTok at @laurenblakelybooks! A #1 New York Times Bestselling, #1 Wall Street Journal Bestselling, and #1 Audible Bestselling author, Lauren Blakely is known for her contemporary romance style that’s sexy, feel-good and witty. Lauren likes dogs, cake and show tunes and she is the vegetarian at your dinner party.
They are shorter novellas and while they are technically standalone, they...well, aren't totally. They are stories about characters you've already met and loved as the best friend, the coworker or the secondary character who kind of steals the show.
I could review all of them separately, and I considered doing so. But, really, this is a collection of cute, shorter stories that are just a lot of fun.
Lauren Blakely, as always, tells fun stories that are a blast to read, even if you haven't read the books in which the characters first appear.
So I wasn't a fan of this collection. These were novellas and the very first book seemed like it took forever for me to finish. I thought it might just be that first novella so I pushed on. Well each novella never passed 2 stars for me. I finished this collection but it didn't make me want to read the full length extension of the characters.
Lucky Suit - 3/5 - Kristen is done with being set up and decides to try online dating. This ends with her meeting Cameron whom she thinks is the guy she met online, but is really the guy her grandmother set her up with (and who she played online poker with) and . So Kristen is a bit peeved about that but can’t deny that Cameron is perfect for her. Only problem is that he lives in New York and she lives in Miami. How do they make this work? This was kinda anti-climactic really. It has the usual witty banter, one-liners and contemporary characters with sarcastic senses of humor. I like it these things generally, but sometimes it feels like the author tries too hard to pack the story full of it and it probably needs less. Kristen and Cameron had a good connection and the confusion about Cameron’s identity was pretty funny, but then the relationship tension comes down to distance and the story lost its momentum. They text, they talk on the phone and they kinda continue a long-distance relationship before Cameron decides he’s going down to visit and then Kristen says she’ll visit him next weekend and then we have the epilogue. Evidently, that was all they needed, to agree to visit each other every weekend. Meanwhile, the only visual I have is two constantly draining bank accounts because holy crap - weekend round trip flights between Miami and New York aren’t necessarily cheap - each of them is gonna spend about $500 a month for this relationship. Wow. It was still cute, but I didn’t really love this one. Also - didn’t realize I was basically signing on to read stories that were already connected to other series/stories from this author. I really wish she’d put that out there so I don’t inadvertently start a series I don't have the time to finish - I have enough on my TBR list as it is.
Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss - 2.5/5 - Kirby is a Valentine’s scrooge because he was cursed by a girl when he was eleven and he’s had bad luck on Valentine’s day ever since. And of course, it’s all the worse because Kirby has the hots for his best friend, Macy, who absolutely loves Valentine’s day. Ordinarily he’d take the risk, but his curse means he’s sure that he’d blow it and lose Macy’s friendship. But this Valentine’s Day, he gets just the right push to make his move and Macy is all on board. So this was super-short and didn’t have the length to really pull off a full-investment in the characters. It was also pretty fluffy, as in, no romantic angst to really pull me in. Kirby and Macy were likeable characters with plenty of cute, witty banter, but something felt missing with them. Maybe they lacked spark or maybe it didn’t FEEL like they were the best of friends and risking their friendship by taking it to the next level. And then of course, I was waiting for that angsty moment after they finally decided to go for it and it never came. Basically, they dithered and wondered whether they should, then they did and they lived happily ever after. I can’t really explain why I was disappointed by how easy that was for them. And then the extended sex scenes kinda felt gratuitous because once they started kissing their HEA was basically complete for me.
Too Good to be True - 3/5 - This is out of the One Love Series - somewhere before Flynn’s story. Olivia, Flynn and Dylan’s sister, is the heroine and she finally meets with matchmaker, Evie, to find the perfect guy after Flynn calls her out for sabotaging her dates to avoid getting hurt. Evie sets her up with hot vet, Herb Smith. They have the perfect date, but Evie wonders if it’s all too good to be true. Cute story. Uber-short though. This one was better because it actually had a spot of tension after all that perfection and connection, so they had to figure out how to fix it. That worked and made this much more engaging. Honestly though, I really wish this author would have put some sort of disclaimer that this involved characters from a particular series because I couldn’t remember everything about these characters and where they came from, but I knew they were familiar...so I had to investigate.
Strong Suit - 3/5 - Part of the “Birthday Suit” series and connected to the first novella in this anthology, Lucky Suit. I haven’t read Birthday Suit yet, so I don’t know which characters are from that book. Here you have Nina, who works for a chocolate company and she’s attracted to Noah, who is ten years younger than she is. He’s flirtatious and very attracted to her, but she’s resistant because of the age difference and her perception of what his maturity level must be because of his age. He sets out to prove that perseverance pays off. This was clean. It was also way too short. It had a cute set up and a nice premise, but it ends way too quickly. Noah doesn’t really prove his maturity, he doesn’t meet Nina’s daughter and this story doesn’t feel totally complete...in that I didn’t feel like Nina’s concerns/anxieties were totally resolved...Noah just wore her down to a date and the story ended (and the epilogue indicates things went well from there, but that’s really short too). I think if this had been even a regular-length novella, this would have been much better.

Dating Mr Right is a collection of short stories and novellas from different series by Lauren Blakely. Those who know the author's writing already know that it is ALWAYS worthwhile to open a space at TBR to fit her books. Do you know that collection with short stories, some a little more daring, others a little more romantic and all with very funny scenes? That is the case here. The kind of pleasant reading, able to chase off the bad mood and improve your day.
In Lucky Suit, from mathematical calculations to a passion for astronomy, Kirsten's mother and grandmother will show her the true meaning of writing in the stars. Between online flirting, arranged dates, a fake profile and an almost consummated wedding in the chapel, Cameron and Kirsten will learn to turn the improbable into certain happiness. Way beyond statistical probabilities.
In Once Upon a Red Hot Kiss, Kirby will learn that leaving the past behind can change his luck. And that on the most hated date on his calendar, good things can happen and change his life forever. If he just has a little bit of courage to overcome his fears.
In Too Good to be True, the meeting of two puzzle lovers who had their hearts broken seems too good to be true. Does this thing of love at first sight really exist? Can something really that good last forever? Between art, escape rooms and pancakes they need to discover if they have what is needed for a hapilly ever after.
In Strong Suit, Ginny needs to decide whether Noah's arguments and attributes are strong enough to make her ignore the ten years of difference between them. And the instant chemistry she has felt since meeting a new co-worker is not going to make the situation any easier. What she doesn't know is that the feeling is mutual and that, perhaps, her co-worker wanted much more than just fun.
In all narratives, the common point is to overcome the past and have the courage to take risks in search of your happy ending. With sweet, daring, funny and romantic scenes, this collection is the type of reading to relax on vacation or any time of the year. Perfect for reading and rereading several times, always with a smile on your face.
Any chance for me to dive back into one of Lauren Blakely’s worlds is a chance I’m going to take. I’ve read the overwhelming majority of her romantic comedies and contemporary romances, and there’s always a side character or two that I wish I could see get their happily ever after. Blakely gives readers that opportunity in this collection.
Lucky Suit takes readers back to the Birthday Suit world with Cameron, the best friend/business partner of that book’s heroine, Lulu, as he meets the woman of his dreams. It was fun, it was sexy and full of quirky humor as Kristen, a smart and sweet nerdy girl, gets the hottest guy to ever land in her galaxy. Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss returns readers to The Heartbreakers series, a personal favorite of mine, with a best-friends-to-lovers Valentine-themed romance that was short, sweet and full of red-hot heat. Too Good To Be True brings together the Come As You Are and Satisfaction Guaranteed worlds with two characters who’ve been burned by love taking a chance on it again. I cheered Olivia and Herb on the whole way in this heartwarming, heart-mending, pinch-me-is-this-real romance as their luck turns, and they find out that sometimes things aren't too good to be true, they're just simply true. Finally, the short story in this collection, Strong Suit, picks up the breadcrumbs that Blakely laid in Birthday Suit with an older woman, younger man age-gap/workplace romance. Noah was persistent, determined, and patient as he worked his swoony magic to win over Ginny—something I’d been wanting to happen the whole time I was reading Birthday Suit!
Each of these novellas can technically be read as a standalone, so for new-to-Lauren Blakely readers, the Dating Mr. Right collection is a wonderful opportunity to get a taste of the worlds that she’s created in these stories’ full-length counterparts. The short story, Strong Suit, is just that—a short story, tying up a romance that was just beginning to spark in Birthday Suit, and it’s the only story in this collection where I’d encourage readers to read that book before diving into this short story.
Nicely developed, fast-paced quick reads, full of all the sexy, fun and sigh-worthy romance I’ve come to love from Lauren Blakely, Dating Mr. Right was a chance to catch up with characters I loved and see them get their own happily ever afters. For new readers, it’s a chance to check out some of Blakely’s worlds with a couple of satisfying, sexy and sweet little love stories. Entertaining and amusing, the entire Dating Mr. Right collection of stories was romantic, very sexy and a whole lot of fun to read. Dating Mr. Right by Lauren Blakely gets 5 smooches from me! ~Danielle Palumbo

This collection is a perfect little glimpse into the world of Lauren Blakely! Trust me, you’re going to want to read more of her work after you finish reading these stories.
What a bunch of great stories about some great characters that we were introduced too in her other amazing stories. Each Mr. Right story was sexy, hot, and incredibly satisfying. These novella are just the summer read that you're looking for. I know I should not have a favorite but Kirby & Macy are mine! #OneClick #HotQuickReads #MrRight
Didnt finish this cause I seriously didnt think it was worth it. The first part was three stars and had a flat ending. The second one was slighty better i give it 3.5 stars but i wish i could have added to my challenge..the authors book are really hit or miss for me i could love it or not like it at all.
I love catching up with supporting characters from past Lauren Blakely books. These short stories are the perfect side stories for best friends to get their HEA’s. Each story is sweet, romantic and laced with the perfect bit of humor.
4⭐️It started strong with one of my favorite stories, Lucky Suit. Can you find someone with the same quirks as you? What if they live 1000 miles away?
2⭐️The second story, Once Upon a Red Hot Kiss, was the worst. I felt nothing for the characters. I usually don’t mind tropes as characters, but these were so flat. It’s been a while since I read the series this fits into, but I’m pretty sure I rated them 4-5⭐️. This just did nothing for me.
4⭐️I had been hoping to read an Olivia & Herb story & I had almost given up. I’m glad I kept looking. It’s a sweet, short story about a couple who fall in love within the two months before one of them moves 1000 miles away.
4⭐️Strong Suit gave a backstory we wanted since Birthday Suit. Ginny & Noah had a fun, flirty banter & Lauren Blakely gives great banter. Definitely read this one after Birthday Suit.
I'm not sure if it's because a new author to me or because these are short stories, but these seemed almost rushed. I'm hoping when I read one of the very many novels I own, it won't be quite so rushed.
There are 4 stories in this one book. They are all short and sweet and a good way to spend an afternoon. The characters have shown up in several of her other books. It’s always fun to see characters flit in and out of her books.
Lucky Suit is a novella that I have been waiting for since Birthday Suit. Lauren teased us with Cameron and a mystery woman. This is that mystery woman! You do not need to read Birthday Suit first but I do recommend reading it and you definitely will want to afterwards.
Kristen is done being setup by everyone. She is done with the blind dates. She is going online to find Mr. Right. Of course her Grams thinks it’s a horrible idea. That no way to meet a guy. There is no meet-cute and she believes her granddaughter deserves a meet-cute but it’s not her life. So Kristen lets the web find her a man. And when the universe brings Lucky Suit into her life, it sure knew what the hell she was doing.
Cameron is in Miami for business. Chocolate business. The best kind. He isn’t there to date. He isn’t there to hook-up. But then the unexpected happened. Kristen. A witty, fun, and sexy woman who happens to also be nerdy. It’s on.
Aw! This one is adorable, fun, hot, and sweet. I loved it all. I am so happy that Cameron got his story. Kristen was new to us but we will see her again soon! Yay! I fell for them both.
Quotes:
“My grams thinks online dating will lead me to Jack the Ripper’s door.” “Maybe it’ll lead to Jack Rip-off-your-clothes-and-bang-you-against-a-door.”
To my body, his kiss feels dirty and delicious all over, like it could lead to hotel rooms after dark, to wrists pinned, to up-against-the-wall escapades.
I feel a little swoony, a little shimmery, as flutters race across my body.
💋 ONCE UPON A RED-HOT KISS
Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss is a novella in the Heartbreakers series. It was an audible first and since then it has been sexed up. From what I have heard and after reading it, I totally believe it because damn. It. Was. Hot! If you read Once Upon a Sure Thing then you have met Macy and Kirby as Ally’s best friend and Ally’s brother. I was so excited to get their story!
Kirby is not a fan of Valentine’s Day. Macy is the biggest one. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t want his best friend. He has wanted her for a very long time. He is afraid to take the risk of losing her as a friend and what would his sister think? They all work together making YouTube videos for their brother/sister musical duo. But when she is determined to show him what Valentine’s Day means to her, can he resist?
It’s hot. It’s fun. It’s sweet. It’s everything. I just love these two. And if you didn’t read Once Upon a Sure Thing you will want to now.
Quotes:
“Someday you’ll tattoo a woman’s name in a heart under that whole badass tough guy exterior.” “Ha. I sing songs on YouTube with my sister. I don’t have a badass exterior.” “Take away the songs, and you’re one hundred percent tough guy, won’t let anyone in.”
She’s the most upbeat person I know. She’s the Tigger to my Eeyore.
“Wow. Did Hallmark lose its lunch in here?”
💞 TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE
Too Good to Be True is an novella that takes place before Come As You Are and Satisfaction Guaranteed. If you read those books then you have met Olivia (Flynn’s Sister) and Herb (Malone’s Friend). If you haven’t read them...you will!!
Herb and Olivia both have trouble dating with an open mind because of past relationships. But the both want the real deal. So with a mutual friend being a matchmaker...it’s on! And that how they end up on the best. Date. Ever. But is it too good to be true? Can it be that easy? There has to be something wrong with one another, right?
Aw! I loved it. I loved Olivia and Herb in the other books so I was happy that they got their own story. It’s funny. It’s hot. It’s delicious.
Quotes:
“When you’ve got it, you’ve got it. No one snips dog balls better than this guy.” “Put that on your business card, Herb.” “It’ll be my new tagline.”
“You look like you were imported from the land of hot men.” He blinks. His eyes widen and sparkle, and then he says, “Wow. I didn't know that country existed.” “It’s right between Goodlookingvia and Stunninglandenero. Just north of Beautifulcountria.” “I’d like to see your map of the world.”
“Failure is not an option,” she says, her tone intense.
👔 STRONG SUIT
Strong Suit is a book I never thought I needed and it was everything I wanted. I loved Noah and Ginny in Birthday Suit and now we get a glimpse of what was happening with them from the beginning. One year before Lulu came back into Leo’s life. I loved it. Even the kale talk and I hate kale. But, maybe if it was Noah feeding it to me, I might give in.
This is a short story full of flirt, questioning, and paper airplanes. A build-up to what’s to come.
Quotes:
He was a freaking twenty-five-year-old family man. Thanks, universe, for the temptation.
“Noah, are you about to say something vastly inappropriate about electric toothbrushes?”
“Would you let me do some chores for you?” She waves her hand in front of her chest, like she’s heating up. “Please. You can’t say such seductive things in the office,” she whispers.
4.5 stars...A collection of four sweet and fun novellas from Lauren Blakely to get a taste of her writing style or to reconnect with some side characters from other stories.
Lucky Suit: Kristen is a scientist in Florida who believes in math, algorithms, and formulas. And that includes finding a soul mate so she has decided to give up real-life dating and trust online matches. Even though she can be serious, she is also sassy, sarcastic, and dances to the beat of her own drummer.
We met Cameron in Birthday Suit as he works with Lulu on her chocolate business in New York and also likes photography. He is analytical, intelligent, outgoing, and loves to debate. He has never trusted online dating, and has relied on typical meetups and setups without much success.
They have different views on how to meet people and live very different lives, but they seem to be driven together by outside forces. These two are both smart, inquisitive, funny, and talkative. But does online conversation really translate to real life chemistry? And if so, what will they even be able to really do about it?
This is an adorable, sweet, witty, and swoony novella. I really liked the quirky characters and the fun, flirty, and snarky banter. It had a couple of little twists that made me think and it kept me thoroughly entertained. It can totally be read as a cute stand-alone romance, but fans of Birthday Suit will enjoy more with Cameron and his friend Lulu.
Once Upon A Red Hot Kiss: This is a sweet little valentine story about Macy and Kirby who were side characters in the Heartbreakers series. Kirby sings duets with his sister, Ally. Macy works for them as their manager.
Kirby is jaded about holidays and especially about Valentine's Day since he feels like it has brought him nothing but bad luck. He is funny, smart, but kind of grumpy and introverted. Macy is his complete opposite. She is perky, positive, extroverted, and adores all holidays to the extreme.
They are good friends, but each has been harboring crushes and they have no clue how the other really feels. They are both afraid of losing their friendship.
Will paper hearts and cupid's arrows this Vday finally inspire one of them to make a move out of the friend zone or will it just be another ho-hum holiday?
This is a cute, fun, and sexy story about friendship, luck, and love. I really liked Kirby and Macy and the whole opposite personalities attracting. I enjoyed getting more with Ally and Miller before their book Once Upon a Sure Thing.
Too Good To Be True This is a sweet, sexy novellete for Flynn and Dylan's sister, Olivia. She is an ethical hacker and tech nerd, but she has other fun interests. But she has been hurt so she is guarded and picky. She tends to self-sabotage to avoid getting hurt.
But Flynn convinces her to give Evie the matchmaker a try. Enter smart, sweet, funny vet Herb Smith. He has his own relationship issues and fears.
The matchmaker thinks they will be a match made in Heaven with similar interests and personalities. Will it be a love match or is he too good to be true? And is Olivia brave enough to truly find out?
I really liked both of these characters and their banter. I enjoyed more with Flynn (this takes place prior to his book, Come As You AreCome As You Are). This is short, sweet, and so much fun.
Strong Suit: I loved Noah and Ginny in Birthday Suit. This short gives us a sneak peek into the wannabe courtship of the younger, vibrant, charming, sexy, flirty Noah Rivera, and the older, more cautious, single mom, Ginny. Noah is nothing if not persistent and he is determined to win her over somehow. Ginny is going to try hard to resist his charms and find his faults, but Noah is one charismatic and determined man. This short tease leads into Birthday Suit.
This is a collection of four (standalone) short stories featuring characters that we’ve met in the past and i have to say, it was ever so enjoyable catching up with them while they found their own happily ever after.
In Lucky Suit we get the story of Cameron and Kristen who meet online and go through a confusing then hilarious first date and subsequently navigate a long-distance relationship.
In Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss we have Kirby, who absolutely hates Valentine’s Day and believes he’s been cursed to never find happiness. He’s in love with his best friend Macy who is effervescent and happy and embraces every occasion with gusto. Luckily, she’s in love right back!
Too Good to Be True features my favorite man in this boxset, Kirby! Serious swoon-alert right here! He’s a vet whose ex left him to travel the world and is a bit wary of getting involved with someone new. However, when his matchmaking client/friend sets him up with a gorgeous woman who is into sabotaging every relationship that comes her way, he bites the bullet and falls hard.
And finally, Strong Suit: the older-woman, younger-man trope has never been so flirty and delicious! Noah wears Ginny down with his paper airplanes and kale-infused cuisine till she accepts that Noah is the man for her, despite the age difference and food choices.
I have to say, I enjoyed all of these reads immensely. Some, if not all, of the characters I’ve been so eager to read about and was hoping Blakely would give us glimpses of in the future. So in my humble opinion, the novellas satisfied my curiosity while delivering a fun and flirty good time. Even though these are short stories, Blakely infuses so much warmth and personality into her characters that you’re left feeling as though you’ve read a complete and extensive novel which I believe says much about her as an author.
*I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

Even though these are short stories, Blakely infuses so much warmth and personality into her characters that you’re left feeling as though you’ve read a complete and extensive novel which I believe says much about her as an author.
First we have Lucky Suit which is Cameron and Kristen's story. Cameron works with Lulu that is in Birthday Suit so this ties that book back together. Cameron is so handsome and fun and when the funny grandmother Jeanne meets him she is instantly sure he is perfect for her granddaughter Kristen. Problem is Kristen has endured so many bad hookups from Grams friends she refuses to go on another blind date. After Jeanne chats with Cameron some more she discovers he is looking for love but is also cautious about hookups. When Jeanne intervenes the two hit it off and are truly a perfect match. I loved this story and I so want to be Jeanne when I grow old.
Second we have Once Upon a Red Hot Kiss which is Kirby and Macy's story. Kirby is Ally from Once Upon A Sure Things brother and we got how Kirby and Macy's story ended in that book. This shows us how it all began.
Third we have Too Good To Be True which is Olivia and Herb's story. Olivia is the older sister of twins Flynn from Come As You Are and Dylan from Stud Finder and Herb is a hottie veterinarian and friends with Sloane from Satisfaction Guaranteed. Olivia and Herb's story is so much fun and it ties several characters together. Olivia is her own worst enemy when it comes to finding Mr. Right but thanks to the matchmaking skills of Evie who we fall for in Stud Finder she finds her HEA.
Last but not least is Strong Suit which is Noah and Ginny's story. We got to fall in love with the persistent Noah in Birthday Suit. Noah and Ginny work together with Leo and Lulu and we watch their love grow. This gives us their beginning.
I absolutely love how Lauren Blakely ties her books together. They are all standalones but we get to meet new characters and visit with old favorites as she weaves more lives together. Reading her books for me is truly like catching up with old friends because that is how they seem. It's real life as in all these characters are tied together in one way or another and it's so much fun watching them grow and fall in love and live their HEA. This author is a story genius and she always pulls me inside where I feel like I'm part of the gang. These characters are not perfect, they have their own quirks and life hurts to deal with and Lauren Blakely gives us all the emotions both happy and sad as well as the heated passion and humor you want in a rom-com. She always delivers and makes me feel all the emotions. I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. I enjoyed these four novellas and hope you do as well. 5 stars for me and I highly recommend reading these stories to tie all these wonderful characters together.
I purchased a copy of Dating Mr. Right a Collection: 4 Standalone Romantic Comedies by Lauren Blakely in order to read the novella Lucky Suit and this review was given freely. 4 stars
Lucky Suit: 5 stars I purchased a copy of the novel Lucky Suit in Dating Mr. Right a Collection: 4 Standalone Romantic Comedies by Lauren Blakely in order to read the novella Lucky Suit and this review was given freely. A fun and flirty North/ South Coast romance with wonderful characters, a suggestion of a steamy relationship, and a happy ending. Through the interfering matchmaking of her mother and her grandmother, Florida alternative fuel scientist and part time astronomer Kristen meets the guy she thinks will be the man of her dreams only to find that she and New York Chocolatier Cameron have been pranked.
Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss: A Heartbreakers novella. 4 stars I purchased a copy of the novella Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss: A Heartbreakers novella by Lauren Blakely in Dating Mr. Right a Collection as well in the Valentine based collection Be Mine and this review was given freely. Good descriptions, wonderful characters and an excellent lead in to a sequel. Ad Executive and Youtube star Kirby who is unlucky in love resists his attraction to his best friend and makeup artist Macy. An opposites attract, best friends to more steamy romance with a hint of BDSM. Depicting loneliness, love, and attraction via some suggestive texting, thoughts and conversations, this short story features two hopeful "couples" who are interconnected by blood or friendship but hesitate to lose their friendships by taking a chance on love.
Too Good To Be True: 5 stars I purchased a copy of the novella Too Good To Be True by Lauren Blakely in Dating Mr. Right a Collection as well in the Valentine based collection Be Mine and this review was given freely. Ethical hacker and art enthusiast Olivia challenges her brother's home intelligence automation device to find her the perfect man but when that fails, she seeks the help of her brother's matchmaker friend Evie resulting in a flirty and steamy romance with Manhattan veterinarian Herb.
Strong Suit: 4 stars I purchased a copy of the Strong Suit: A Birthday Suit Short Story by Lauren Blakely and this review was given freely. Lively and easy flowing but a bit of a tease. This is an introduction to Ginny and contains her flirting with a 10 year younger coworker Noah. Covering the same time as Birthday Suit, it hints at the promise of a relationship but ends just as the couple might begin to date. Best if read before Birthdate Suit where you get a vastly different opinion of Noah's personality.
This is such a fun, sexy read. Four standalone stories which are correlated with Lauren Blakely's previous novels.
Lucky Suit...
Remember Lulu's sexy business from Birthday Suit? Well, Cameron is the man behind Lucky Suit. Blonde, tall, and smart. He's looking for love and the zip zing that goes with the chemistry.
Now my favorite in this story? Kristen and her grandmother. These ladies had me flipping the pages. Also, I want to be Grams when I grow up.
Once Upon a Red-hot Kiss....
Ally's (Once Upon A Sure Thing) brother Kirby is not a fan of Valentine's Day. Especially when the one he wants to give his heart to is his best friend.
Personally, I'm not a fan of Valentine's Day either... But after reading this short, which by the way was REALLY hot, I might become a believer too.
Too Good to be true...
This story I've been missing for so long I was so happy to have read it. Remember the sexy nerds Dylan (Stud Finder) and Flynn Come As You Are)? Well, this is their sister Olivia. A nerdy, gadget geeky, art lover meets a sexy vet.
Their chemistry? FUN!!
Strong Suit...
Single mom Ginny isn't too sure about giving a man younger than her a chance. Noah doesn't care about the age, he likes what he sees and he wants Ginny to take the leap of faith.
This is a sweet, short story, but you will see the fruition of their relationship in Birthday Suit.
I loved all the short stories and I loved there are the prequels to previous novels I read. These short stories bring the bigger novels to a full circle. Lauren Blakely is a guru in weaving characters in and this was no exception. These are a must read!
Luck Suit is Lauren Blakey's newest fun, short, sweet and sexy story with another lovable character from Birthday Suit. I loved Birthday Suit so much, I hope every one of those characters gets their own story! Lucky Suit was an audible release first and as you all know, I love me some LAUREN audio! Now I've had the pleasure of reading it! Kristen's grandma knows Cameron is perfect for her granddaughter so she sets them up. In a very funny and unique way. They instantly click, but they aren't really who they think they are. When they meet in person they have fantastic chemistry and really want to get to know each other better, but can they trust what they really feel or is it all part of the set up? The humor, the witty banter and the slow burn were perfection.
Once Upon a Red Hot Kiss is a Macy and Kirby's story. They were secondary characters from the Heartbreakers series and I loved them and I'm so glad they got a story. It's short, sweet and oh so sexy!
Too Good to Be True is Olivia and Herb's story from Come as You Are! Olivia is Flynn's sister and I just loved her. Herb and Olivia's story is fun, sexy and hopeful!
Strong Suit is Lauren Blakely's new fun, short story about Ginny and Noah from Birthday Suit! I absolutely loved them in Birthday Suit and now we get more goodness from their backstory. How they met, what they initially thought of each other. The attraction, the hesitation and the pursuit. Noah is so funny and sexy and mature for his young age. Ginny is a cautious, single mom who wants Noah, but doesn't want to want him. I loved this extra look into their relationship and it left me wanting more!

This is a collection of four novellas, featuring couples who were side characters in Lauren Blakely's full length novels. A quick review of each novella:
LUCKY SUIT - 4.5 stars! It's almost impossible to give a quick synopsis for this one, so it's best to just go ahead and read. Vaguely, a meddlesome grandma is determined to help her granddaughter find love, featuring a case of mistaken identity online. I immediately loved both MCs (Cameron and Kristen) and their connection was so evident on-page. I really enjoyed the guessing game of what the hell was happening with the online dating mix up, too, and the Grandma was hilarious.
ONCE UPON A RED-HOT KISS - 3.5 stars Friends to lovers romance set around Valentines featuring Kirby, a YouTube-based singer, and Macy, his sister's BFF who helps with the production of his videos. For such a short book there was too much time devoted to side characters, IMO. The sex scene saved this for me, it was SUPER hot, if seemingly a little out of character.
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE - 3.5 stars Sweet romance about Oliva and Herb, two singletons who are set up by a matchmaking service. A little forgettable, but their first date was super sweet, and the author did a good job of establishing their relationship. The sex scene was a little rushed, though.
STRONG SUIT - 2.5 stars Older single mum (Ginny) and younger co-worker (Noah) get their flirt on. I was LOVING their banter and sexual tension... until it ended with no sex scene and barely a kiss :( I thought it was building to something epic! Oh well.
Oh, this collection left me with such a smile on my face. Dating Mr. Right gives us the story of some secondary characters from previous books but can absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone. These stories were packed full of the heart, heat and humor I've come to expect from Lauren Blakely. This is the perfect summer beach or pool read!
Now if you love Lauren Blakely's audiobooks (and if you don't, I'm telling you to give them a try! They're incredible!!) then chances are you've heard these stories. There is additional content here though so don't just pass this one up thinking you've heard it before!!
I love, love, love these characters. Each couple is unique and fresh and fun. Kristen and Cameron, Kirby and Macy, Olivia and Herb...and Noah and Ginny. I feel like I could bump into any of them and the street and strike up a conversation. I really enjoyed reading them and diving into their world.
These stories all flowed. The pacing was spot on, the writing was as witty and fun as always. I always feel I'm right there with the characters-wherever they are, New York, Florida etc-and this was no different. Also, I've decided when I grow up I'm going to be just like Kristen's Grandma.
I loved this collection of stories and I know you will too. I absolutely recommend this.
*** I received an advanced copy and chose to review it *** ** 100% spoiler-free review ** * 5 stars *
If you are a fan of Lauren Blakely's books, you are going to LOVE this collection of short stories centering around secondary characters that you've met in past books. They are short, sweet, hot and fun! I always love when an author goes back to revisit these characters because while they may not be the center of the stories that they are in, they almost always play a big part and seeing them get their happily ever after? Priceless! I blew through Dating Mr. Right pretty quickly and loved every minute of it. The stories made me swoon in the way only Blakely's books do. The witty banter and fun had me fully invested in every story in this collection! If you've read Blakely's books, you're going to love these. If you've never read Blakely's books, you're going to love these and then you're going to race to read the stories they spun off from. 5 stars
Talk about getting the best of all worlds… 4 novellas by Ms. Blakely in one book???? Sign me up!!!
These four books are all quick, sexy and funny reads with just the right amount of light angst. There’s matchmaking going on in Lucky Suit and secondary characters from previous books getting their own HEA’s in the other three novellas. And if you’ve read any of her books, you’ll recognize theses characters immediately and if you’re like me will do a little fist-pump when you get to each of their stories.
Ms. Blakely is immensely talented in writing books that keep me laughing, sometimes with a snort inserted because it’s just that funny, swooning and fanning myself with the sexiness of her characters chemistry.
If you haven’t read any of her books, and if that’s true, that needs to be remedied immediately, or if you’re a Lauren Blakely aficionado, this compilation is exactly what you need to read!
Lauren Blakely has boxed together four rom-coms and they are all fantastic! Lucky Suit takes up the first 45% of the ebook and features Cameron from Blakely's Birthday Suit. He and Kristen (and Kristen's grandmother the matchmaker!) are a hoot and their met-online story is so cute! Once Upon a Red-Hot Kiss is a little less than 20% of the ebooks and is a steamy friends-to-lovers treat related to The Heartbreakers series. Olivia and Herb are the characters in Too Good To Be True (about 20% of the ebook)- we met them in Satisfaction Guaranteed and it's fun to read their matchmaker-gets it-right story. Finishing up the last 15% or so is Strong Suit, a bit of a prequel to Birthday Suit featuring Ginny and Noah's younger man/older woman workplace romance. All of the stories can absolutely be read as standalones, but will be a real delight for fans of Lauren Blakely.
Great swoony fun as only Lauren Blakely can deliver! This is a series of short stories, some a taste of a full-length book already released.
I am always happy to see that Blakely continues to write about strong, successful heroines who truly don't need a man to feel complete yet when they find that perfect match, life is suddenly not just great but amazing.
Whether it is lovers to friends or co-workers or 'coincidental' match-ups by well-meaning family members, Dating Mr. Right hits all the high notes and is the right companion for a day by the pool or at the beach.
You'll have a wonderful time with these characters, who are enjoying incredible passion and finding love when they least expect it.
