A Marvelous Yarn

Ms. Crigger can tell a tale well worth reading. She doesn't write your typical western story, not by a long shot.

She has the ability to make sure you are on the right side of the heroine (or hero), and her heroines feel like real people. In this book she makes both the heroine and her antagonist particularly real. The bad guys are scum bags and one comes across as an especially evil person.

The end of this book is well done and could easily lead to another with these characters. It certainly left me wanting to read the next chapter in the lives of these two.

Ms Crigger is currently my favorite Western author and I have to pace myself or I'll run out of her books to read. I strongly recommend this book.

5 STARS, TURN OF THE CENTURY DRAMA

5 STARS & A great BLURB provided is what the reader receives with this one. It's a fast paced exciting experience with lots of shoot-em-up action along with some strange characters in Montana.

Whilky & Hix meet because Box's aunt gets him to give her a ride on his motorcycle, a Triumph. These are rarer than automobiles. Whilky had turned her ankle escaping from the lawyer's office her Uncle & her were in town because of.

It seems everyone chases Whilky & Hix. She can't even go to the Hospital as a Jane Doe and actually stay safe. Mystery & drama. This book has won awards & having read it I completely understand.

What a fun book! Perfect read at the end of another Covid day. The novel was action-packed with a believable, strong heroine. I was especially drawn to the Butte, Montana, setting. Going to load up on another Crigger novel!

What a great storyline!

I loved this one, so much action and a horrible bad guy, or bunch of them! Loved old Brownie and the two kids who fell in love with him! Awesome story!

C.K.Crigger is an excellent storyteller, and she has created a protagonist worthy of a series. Wilkie Van Slyke is a master safecracker and lockpicker, a talent that gets her into a world of trouble when she tries to right a wrong against shady lawyers. The writing is solid, and the story kept me turning the pages.

I really enjoyed this book. Great writing. Not your usual western. Great plot and you don’t find out what Yeggman means until the end.

I received an advance copy for an honest review.
