Fun read from new children’s author

My granddaughter rescued a tiny kitten from a parking lot one dreary night. It caught her attention because it was white. When Daddy turned out to be allergic, she lovingly entrusted the kitty to yours truly.

She is now starting to read and this is perfect for her to read to her little sister, who also loves kitties.

Bonus is the way it is written. Highly enjoyable.

I adored everything about this book: adoption, love for pets, working together and love. The neighbor pitching in to help shows community. Just the whole feel good vibe of this story made it a pleasure to read. I don't like mice but actually felt sorry for Crumbles...but not too much, he has to go.

The Careless Kitty is a great book that shows the unconditional love we have for pets even if they don't always behave how we'd like. Whilst cleaning mum discovers a mouse who she wants to get rid of so she adopts a cat called Rascal to do the job for her but things don't turn out how she'd hoped.

I think the story of this book is great and it is interesting to see all of the characters in the book which are all so different. I like that we get to see more than one side to mum as she realises that maybe she was wrong, this is great for children to see as it shows that we all make mistakes sometimes. I think by having Rascal the cat and the mouse acting differently than you'd expect it make sure for a fun and surprising read that leaves you guessing what is going to happen which is great to keep the children's attention.

The illustrations are so lovely and eye catching for the children. They loved seeing the cat and mouse as a big part of the story and the emotions on all the characters faces were great to help them see how everyone else was feeling about the events of the day.

The book is fun and easy to read and children will love to read Rascal's story again and again. Such a lovely story with fun and relatable characters and a lovely way to show kindness and friendship within a family.

Too complicated for a toddler, to complex with respect to language used for a child in Kindergarden. Written as though the author doesn't know what for what age group this book is intended.

Meow. Meow. Meow

Get ready for purrs and kitty love because they are both in this exciting animal rescue book. The illustrations make you want to pet the kitty on the page. I highly recommend this book for all animal lovers no matter the age.
There was a mouse in the house and Mom Beth was scared. Before going to the shelter they went to the store to buy supplies. That night Dad heard a meow coming from nearby. It was a little kitten who got to stay and be theirs. Beth got very upset with Rascal. Why do you think?. You get to listen/read and find out!! Excitement!!

🐀🧹Cute.

A small family discovers a mouse in the middle of the living room and decides to have a cat to catch it.

A great adventure with suspense, pretty colorful drawings and successful characters.

To discover.

Rhyming story

A simple cat and mouse story. The rhymes seemed forced. It doesn’t flow well. Cute storyline but not easy to read.

Difficult to review

Although the illustrations were great, the story was just ok for me. The ending just didn’t fit what I would have expected.
