A photographic celebration of the unsung hero of guitar music—the effects pedal—featuring interviews with 100 musicians.
As soon as the first effects pedals were introduced in the 1960s, they were adopted by musicians who used them to craft custom sounds. Until now, however, the pedal hasn't been given its due. Stompbox illustrates the connection between 100 musicians and the devices that help them shape their music.
A visual treat for collectors, guitar players, and music fans, Stompbox reveals the pedals behind some of rock 'n' roll's signature sounds.
I never knew I wanted a book this much! I guess the Facebook commercial hit the right person.
100 guitar pedals with a photo. 100 stories from guitarist on their favourite, or most influential stompbox.
Just a tip. With every new pedal there is a small section with a short story of the pedal and or company itself. And a story of the guitarist. Bands, records working on etc. read these first.
The book names quite a lot of songs and albums, wich is great. On this song/ record you hear the pedal. I have listened to some new music because of this. There should be a Spotify playlist from the book
After the 100 stompboxes there is a part telling the story about the guitar pedal from the start and until today. Then other musicians telling how they use stompboxes. Quite interesting actually. People playing the violin, keyboard, saxophone and on the voice. The last part is questions with people from different companies producing guitarpedals.
