Antisocial

Rate this book
Antisocial is a gripping thriller that is set in present-day Philadelphia about the psychological struggles of multiple people whose lives are interconnected and colliding at a breakneck pace. When Jared Jones, an introverted accountant, becomes the prime suspect for the murders of his social media love interests, he thinks he is being framed by his jealous ex-fiancée, who left him after having an affair with another man. Now he must enlist the help of his renegade, irresponsible roommate, Victor Forte, to be his alibi so that he can convince a savvy veteran police detective that his ex-fiancée is the killer and not him. Unfortunately for Jared, Victor harbors some resentment towards Jared over a past incident that Jared let Victor take the fall for, so Victor isn't too keen on helping Jared clear his name. As the bodies and evidence pile up, all roads begin to lead back to Jared and as Jared feels the walls closing in and time running out, he finds it increasingly difficult to remain a free man.

What a ride this was! And that ending, 🤯!
Jared an awkwardly shy introvert who had trouble fitting in as a child as well as an adult. With the help of his friend Victor, he became the ladies man. That is until every woman he dates end up dead...
Who is the serial killer? Is it Maya his ex girlfriend who doesn’t want to let him go? Is it Jared himself as the detectives think? Is it his party friend/buddy Victor. All I know is my mind was blown when finding out who the real killer was.

Superbly written. Love the way the Author merges the timelines during the story.
Twist at the end was very satisfying. I read a lot, most books fade from my memory in a
couple of weeks. Not this one! I highly recommend this book.

Antisocial is well-written and the author does a fantastic job of really "painting a picture" for the reader. It's a very gripping and intriguing story with a plot that kept me guessing from beginning to end. I highly recommend checking it out; I couldn't put it down and ended up reading it in one day!

A perfect summer read

A perfect thriller to read on lazy summer days at the beach.

Jared has very few friends and has developed into an introvert. Jared is naturally socially awkward in how he interacts with others, so it is rather difficult for him to find new friends but one day someone steps in when he is bring bullied, Victor.
Victor helps him gain the self- confidence he so much need and long but despite of all the good things that comes along with Jared’s new friend, Victor has a dark side.
A dark side that will change things forever.

I read this one for a buddy read and like the idea of interchange ideas and thoughts about the book, we all interpret stories differently, that’s the beauty of the words.

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me engaged from the first page to the last. The plot was well thought-out. Had me guessing until the end. The author did a great job of describing the characters and their personalities. Would highly recommend.

A page-turner for certain. Short chapters add nicely to suspense.
Portrayal of certain archetypes seems trite at times. Rends a bit like some Hollywood films- both older and modern.
Somewhat lacking for descriptive language but strong on dialogue.

3/5 stars (for story premise (4.5 stars), but is a solid 3 as-is with lack of editing)

I was really excited to read this book, but I was, for the most part, disappointed. I knew this book was self-published from the start. I support authors whether or not they are traditionally published or self-published, and think everyone deserves a shot and a fighting chance. That being said, this book really needed an editor. This is my only quarrel with the book because the story and premise were both great. However, I just couldn't avoid or ignore the glaring grammatical issues and typos. There was a lot of repetition throughout the book, both repeating a detail over and over and in repeating sentence structure over and over to the point where I honestly thought I was missing something and reading the same sentence over and over. I really wanted to enjoy this book, but I was glad it was on Kindle Unlimited. This book would greatly benefit from another look-through with an editor because the story was overall interesting and the twist in the last chapter was flooring. I just hate that I didn't enjoy it as much due to a lot of errors.
