I'm not normally a romance reader, but this series is about a family of witches and it sucked me in! To the point I dove straight into book 2! If you love a good witch story, accompanied by ghosts, and handsome men, you'll enjoy this one! A young witch still working on her skills who is pulled into a family mystery when a strange man comes to town seeking an artifact he believes her family has. Lots of twists and turns until the grand finale that brings with it a couple surprises. I look forward to Book 2!
I bought the first in the 3 Moon Falls series thinking I would read on my February vacation only to drop my IPAD around chapter 2. Since I didn't replace the shattered device it took me another two months to find a way to redownload the book to a different, older device and, by then, I had to start reading it from the beginning. Sometimes the universe knows what’s best for you even when you don't! I would have enjoyed this story under a palapa hut on the beach, but I really NEEDED to have a book like this to escape into by mid April in the midst of the global pandemic. The setting was well established as a believable rural town with a hiding-in-plain-sight magical population. The author weaves in some fascinating history from the Salem Witch Trials, a creative magical system, a cohesive community of characters with enough evil doers and good guys, and lots of plot twists to keep you engaged and turning the pages. There’s a wee bit of swearing and minimal sensuality so most readers of light urban fantasy and paranormal romance will enjoy this one. If you are the right age to be a fan of the classics, Practical Magic meets Bedknobs and Broomsticks, you’ll know what to expect from the Three Moon Falls series and Book 1: Fire Magic and you can look forward to at least a few more stories to enjoy in the series – for the remaining witchy sisters!
Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. We meet fire witch Amber, who is opening up her first metaphysical shop in town along with the help from her sisters. While setting up and dancing around the store, a sexy grump storms downstairs and demands them to be quiet. Kody doesnt know what he got himself into while moving into town and establishing his dive business. Amber cant get over kodys crankiness and rights him off eventho he has the nicest buttocks shes ever seen. Kody feels bad about his attitude towards these sisters and tries to make amends. On opening day, amber is so excited and thankful but she has a customer who gives off an evil vibe and when he tries to prob her mind, she gets freaked and kody comes to the rescue. Something evil is lurking and amber seems to be in the centre of it. Kody doesnt know what to make of amber and her sisters but he knows there is something different about them. Will kody accept the truth? Will amber learn about the evil? Will their budding friendship turn into more?
This is a new author for me and a genre I haven't read in a while, I am so glad I took a chance on this book. I have been glued to this story, so much so that I ignored my family! I've laughed, smiled, sighed and eagerly turned the pages enjoying myself as I went, the characters were so appealing that I felt I knew them and felt part of their community. I wanted the story to keep going as I enjoyed Amber and Kody so much, I'm looking to seeing more of them in the rest of the series. I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an ARC and cannot wait to read book 2!
