"Хочу стати астронавтом, коли виросту!" — заявив син. "О, а я мрію, аби хоч один з онуків став лікарем, — у бабусі свої плани. — У нас в родині ніколи не було лікарів". — "Ага, а астронавтів у нас в родині — валом", — додає чоловік і створює черговий сімейний анекдот)))

Здавалося б, хто з нас у дитинстві не мріяв бути кінозіркою чи тим же космонавтом? Але я, наприклад, хоч і снила малою космічними мандрівками, назвати температуру на поверхні всіх планет Сонячної системи не могла, із супутників знала лише Фобос та Деймос (і Місяць, звісно), щиро вірила, що кільце астероїдів утворилося внаслідок вибуху Фаети (бо Казанцева прочитала), і... все, здається. А от у сина знання в цій галузі набагато глибші. Та й у мене вони постійно поповнюються, зокрема завдяки спільно прочитаним книгам про Джорджа та його знайомство з Усесвітом.

Друга книга серії лише підтвердила ріщення зібрати їх усі і читати та перечитувати, адже те, що нині пролітає повз увагу сина (цифри, наукоємні пояснення, нуднуваті переліки), через кілька років сприйметься на ура. Нині ж його захоплює сам сюжет та пригоди, у які потрапляє Джордж. І, звісно, можливість мандрувати Всесвітом разом із книжковими героями. У цій книзі Джордж та Енні розгадують загадки від інопланенян (нсправді не від них, але не спойлеритиму))), дізнаються про те, що зумовлює зародження життя на планетах, а також розкривають секрети дружби та взаємопорозуміння. Це важливо, бо, отримуючи специфічну інформацію, читачі мимохіть замислюються і про наш внутрішній всесвіт, який є не менш таємничим, ніж зовнішній...

Ми вже намилилися у книгарню Старого Лева, що на Прорізній, по третю книгу серії, тож далі точно буде)))

I loved this treasure hunt through space. It was a fun, heartwarming adventure with lovable characters and a funny plot. George, Annie and Emmet were very brave and also very reckless fitting their age of 12. I feel that the age group this book is written for could relate to them very easily. My favorite were the silly parents of George, oh man! On the downside, the villain had a very typical backstory but I was surprised on how the climax was handled.

The great part of the novel, and what made me gave it 5 starts, was the information about astronomy and other sciences. With such complex topics is hard to convey the important ideas and yet the book did it so brilliantly. I feel that anyone could understand the explanation given about planets and phenomena in space.

Even if you are not a young teenager, I feel you can still have a fun experience with this one. Recommended for space fanatics.

Excellent. Just as good as the first in this series, which, like this one, was a "read-aloud" book with my 6yo daughter. We will now look for #3 in the series.

In this one, George and Annie (along with a new friend Emmett) use the super-computer “Cosmos” to create a portal for George and Annie to travel around the universe, in search of scavenger hunt clues, which perhaps are coming from extra terrestrial life? The messages take them to various planets and locations (moons also) where human beings may be able to live: Mars, Triton (Saturn’s moon), Alpha Centauri (next solar system next to ours, only 4 light years away), and, finally, another planet which is 41 light years away.

This series is extremely read-able and full of lots of suspense and excitement. It keeps both my interest and my daughter's also!

George în căutarea de comori prin cosmos- Lucy și Stephan Hawking

"...știinta este foarte importantă. Fără ea, nu înțelegem nimic și, dacă nu înțelegem, cum să ne așteptăm ca lucrurile pe care le facem sau deciziile pe care le luăm sa fie bune? (Fragment din primul volum)

Așa cum George își dorește să exploreze universul așa și eu sunt în căutare de cărți bune, cu adevărat bune, cărți în urma cărora copilul să rămână cu informații , dar și cu o sete de aprofundare a subiectelor dezbătute în carte și cu întrebări despre univers. Cred cu tărie că această carte este "o comoara", carte ce m-a fermecat datorită poveștii, a ilustraților și nu în ultimul rând,al informațiilor.

Cu Damian am omis sau citit parțial informațiile suplimentare din carte (pentru el nu prezenta interes, dar eu am revenit la ele ), cu el am reușit să citesc 65% din ea,dar sunt convinsă că poate fi citită copiilor de la 7 ani.

Spoiler alert.

Dacă în primul volum Cosmos-calculatorul performant s-a stricat și poate fi reparat, aflăm că aceasta nu este singura veste rea, Eric ,Annie Susan se mută în America, deoarece accepta un loc nou de muncă la Agenția Spațială Internațională.
George este invitat să-si petreacă o parte din vacanță la Eric acasă, iar aici isi face un nou prieten pe Emment care le va fi de mare ajutor deoarece el este cel ce reușește să-l repare pe Cosmos și să plece într-o nouă explorare a universului, pentru a descoperi mesajele criptate descoperite .

Finalul merită să fie "explorat "de voi.

Al doilea volum al seriei care a fost devorat de Damian pagină cu pagină, nu a trecut nici peste paginile cu informații suplimentare despre :

În primul volum George cunoscuse o familie minunată, o familie de care s-a atașat, o familie care l-a ajutat să înțeleagă tainele Universului, o familie ce i-a deschis un portal spre acesta. Această familie se mută în America, dar acest lucru nu a dus la o distanțare a lor, mai mult George este invitat să-si petreacă vacanța de vară la aceștia și asa începe acest al doilea volum. Annie are un mare secret de împărtășit, un cod oferit de Cosmos-supercalculatorul lui Eric, care din păcate este defect. Dacă la început Annie l-a privit pe Emmet cu reticență, cu ajutorul viziunii lui George, au reușit să lege o frumoasă prietenie.

Šįkart skaitėme storulę popierinę knygą. Skaičiau garsiai dešimtmečiui, bet manau, kad knyga neskirta skaitymui garsiai. Yra labai daug mokslinių intarpų - iš vienos pusės, puiku, kad galima iš karto susipažinti su Visata. Iš kitos - labai sulėtina skaitymo tempą, ištempia istoriją (o joje veiksmo ir taip ne per daugiausiai), o ir ganėtinai sausai jie parašyti. Porą pirmųjų perskaičiau, vėliau ėmiau praleidinėti.

Apie siužetą: Anė su tėvais iškeliauja į JAV, Džordžas lieka namie nuobodžiauti. Bet po kurio laiko Anė jam parašo: būtinai atvyk pas mus! Nuo to priklauso Žemės likimas! Tai, kaip Džordžas įtikina tėvus išleisti jį į Ameriką, yra nuostabiausia knygos vieta. Anė ir Džordžas vėl keliauja po kosmosą, sekdami keistas nuorodas, kurias palieka... kas?

Siužetas ganėtinai ištęstas, knyga lengvai apsisuktų su puse apimties ir būtų lengvesnė skaityti. Konfliktai irgi dirbtinoki, kartais atrodė, kad įdėti vien tam, kad būtų, bet vietoj įdomumo jie tik erzino.

Sumoj - įdomus skaitinys vaikams. Jie žvaigždžių duotų daugiau. Bet man norėjosi glausčiau, elegantiškiau.

natomiast: nie wiem, czy to kwestia tłumaczenia, ale opis systemu dziesiętnego był dla mnie niejasny. mam wrażenie, że jest opcja, by wyjaśnić to inaczej.

This book is even better than the first book, that is what I think. The books of this series might help me in preparing for a talk on space.

Great way to continue the story! Even though the intrigue is predictable, the end is a nice surprise! And for sure this is one of those journeys when you enjoy the road same or even more than the end! I really like this way of learning about Universe and planets and description over impact of different conditions from planets/satelites over human body. Really enjoyed it!

Просто чудова і дуже цікава книга одного із найгеніальніших фізиків з часів Ейнштейна Стівега Гокінґа та його доньки Люсі Гокінґ.
Книга розрахована для дітей середнього шкільного віку. Але я, людина вже не шкільного віку, читала із великим захопленням та цікавістю.
Це незвичний посібник, де художня історія тісно переплетена із науковими коментарями, які доповнюють розповідь. Це також і розповіді про дослідження у галузі астрономії, фізики знаменитих науковців, які подані у доступній формі. Особливо хочеться відмітити фотоархіви у книзі, де можна побачити багато світлин космосу, планет, супутників.

From the series that starts with George's Secret Key to the Universe; likewise almost entirely by Lucy Hawking, with a few inserted pieces on science by her father Stephen Hawking and various other well-known scientists. To be honest I wasn't all that impressed; George and friends are taken by convenient plot device to a number of educational settings to have adventures; Annie, the kick-ass heroine of the first book, gets rather sidelined here for other young male characters, and the means and motivation of the bad guys are not very clear or consistent. But the illustrations by Garry Parsons are jolly, and both books have a lot of beautiful astronomical photographs which are almost worth the price themselves.

Buku ini mempunyai bahasa yang sederhana untuk dipahami meskipun pembahasan yang dilakukan meliputi fisika dan matematika. Alur cerita sangat cocok bagi anak-anak usia sekolah dasar dengan kemampuan penalaran anak sekolah menengah. Informasi yang diberikan pada pembahasan merupakan karya-karya tulis yang berbasis jurnal ilmiah sehingga memungkinkan penambahan ilmu selain menghabiskan waktu membaca cerita. Sayangnya, mungkin terlihat konyol bagi anak sekolah dasar yang membaca ini, tentunya perlu ada pendamping orang tua untuk menjelaskannya.
Saya mungkin salah satu orang tua yang menyenangi jika anak saya membaca buku ini. Paling tidak suatu saat nanti.

Fantastic children's book about space travel and associated science. You get a cute story with likable characters, funny jokes, exploits on Mars and other extraterrestrial locales, shuttle launches, an evil villain who is eventually reconciled with, what's not to like? Then there are the 'facts' pages that appear throughout- good reading even for adults. Add the wonderful illustrations and the photographs, and you've got a real winner here. Highly recommended for readers under 10, and space-curious adults who don't mind wading through a children's adventure story.

I liked that there is a secret door than can lead you anywhere. It can appear anywhere also. I like it because it's a space book, and I love space! That you don't know what happens next, all you know is that it will be very exciting! The whole book is like that! It's very exciting!"

I continue to enjoy this collaborative work of Lucy and Stephen Hawking. I love the story of George, Cosmos, Eric, Annie and even the pig. But I especially love first the blending of fiction and non-fiction, then the distinct separation of the two. The Hawkings make me look up and learn about our universe and beyond. Thank you.
