I should have never taken the babysitting job at the Goodwin house, but I had my reasons. But what I really shouldn’t have done is fall for Mr. Goodwin. For years, I watched his marriage fall apart, and when it ended, I was the one who helped him put back the pieces of his broken heart. Now there's a storm brewing in the form of his ex-wife. I'm hoping I can hold on as she comes blowing back into his life. Though it isn't only her that could destroy us… I have a secret, and I'll do anything not to have it exposed.
Hmmm to summarize this, it’s a compact novel of all my favorite kinks. Age gap, sleeping with the babysitter, and a bit of daddy kink throw in there as well. The only thing missing is the hero being best friend with the heroine’s father.
MCs: Teen (18, almost 19yr old)babysitter h + daughters father H ( 16 yrs age gap)
There’s an evil wife (who was cheating on the H during their marriage), she kept forgetting to take her meds and she kept hearing voices. Poor girl.
He’s separated with his crazy wife, divorce papers were filed when the MCs hooked up/ fell in love. There were emotional cheating, but not physically until he split with the wife. They’ve been together for 8 months, but she’s been babysitting for the married couple for years.
The crazy, mentally ill, stalkerish wife trope was fun, I honestly didn’t take anyone seriously. 😂 low angst story. Free on KU. I DNF 80%
- some Daddy kink - erotica level love scenes and dirty talk
Safety They’re only with each other. No sex scenes with the ow.
“No. It didn't happen till after. We’ve been seeing each other for about eight months, but I had fallen for her way before that. I can't deny it. We spent hours and hours alone, Peyton. It was impossible not to grow close to her.” “So you emotionally cheated on me.” “You weren't around, Peyton. For fuck’s sake. You didn't give a shit about me, and I'm sick and tired of explaining it to you over and over again.”
There's kinky and there's kinky. And there's bat crazy. This one is veeery veery kinky and crazy. -The hero is married and 34. -The heroine is 18. -The heroine's wife was the heroine's teacher and the heroine has been their nanny for two years. -The wife is crazy, she's suffered all her life of maybe a psychosis and has always been taking drugs. -Then she decides to stop taking her meds and her brains go wild. - The hero doesn't love her any more and is tired of her antics. -They decide to separate and divorce. The hero has been attracted to the heroine for two years. -When the story begins they have an affair for months and the hero will be divorced in two months. The hero's wife decides he wants the hero back. He is in love with heroine and doesn't want to. The crazy wife is crazy so she will do crazy things as to pay two men to drug and take videos of them with the heroine, she put bugs in the living room and then eventually when nothing works, she decides to kill the heroine. -There's a crazy truth to be revealed in the end, that I won't tell, thank god everything will be ok and the heroine will have a child with the hero. The book was not bad, not actually a love story, more a thriller, but I don't actually know what kind of disorder the ow had. I think she was simply a borderline disorder, because she was always very conscious of what she did. The voices she said she heard are only implied and not explained. - I found quite disturbing that the hero felt attracted to a girl not yet of age, and that he saw growing up. She was only 18 and he got her pregnant. And he still was married with ow, not yet divorced. -The hero was not a bad person, he had loved his wife and had been hurt by her very much and for so long, but I disliked that he wanted a girl so young and they made out in front of his 5yo child. - The twist in the end was crazy and I was sweating. I leave it to you if you can stomach such a thing. - I wonder, since the wife had been disturbed for alll her life and the hero knew it, was he really so in love with her to marry her all the same and even have a child with her? And if he was conscious of her issues, why did he change his mind? Because he met the younger and sexier heroine? Ok, the wife didn't want to take her meds any more and so he decided to divorce her, but she was sick, and he basically stopped taking care of her whe the heroine came by. Meh, I'm a bit confused. -Some inconsistencies aside, the book was not bad and the thriller part was interesting
Perfect Storm by Erica Marselas is every bit of a age gap, forbidden romance lovers perfect stormy dream with a dash of suspense and a twist that you will NOT see coming! When I tell you how shook I was, I WAS SHOOK AF!!
You start of this book with a scorching hot and forbidden scene between our main characters, Lola and Dean. Everything between them in intense and hot and emotional and so fucking romantic.
“Lola Anderson is every bit of the forbidden fruit.”
The minute you see how hot these two are for each other, the passion they share, and just how deep their emotions run, you can’t question why they two shouldn’t be together! They might not be perfect, but they are definitely meant to be in every single way!
“I need her. I need to possess her. Love her.”
I couldn’t help but love these two and their ever growing burning hot, off the charts ‘relationship.’
But you soon learn, there is someone who wants to get in the way, a woman scorned...Dean’s soon-to-be ex wife, Peyton, who brings rage into their perfect little bubble... a storm brewing from afar and in their faces.
Peyton is a little crazy (okay, I digress, she’s a ton of crazy)!! You will want to feel some empathy for her because I mean, she wants to make it work, right? But she’s not so innocent! I swear, she’s fully aware of the things she does! She’s one of those exes that you’ll love to hate!
Will she be able to claim her man back?! Will Lola and Dean be able to navigate their relationship through the storm?!
You need to read this book!! Trust me, you will not be at all disappointed 😉
Erica Marselas always blows me away with every book, but this right here, the perfect taboo treat that’ll satisfy the need for something so forbidden, but oh so hot! It’s everything you could want and MORE!
The Perfect storm is a the perfect book for taboo and forbidden love. I love Lola and Deans love story. The secrets and lies and love is what made this books so perfect. This book had so much, love and drama going on that it kept me enthralled the whole time. I finished this book within 12 hours because I couldn’t put it down, and plus I didn’t want it to end. But it had the perfect ending to the storm that brewing from the beginning of Dean and Georgia’s life. Erica you have out done your self again this another perfect book.
This was an enjoyable and interesting read. The story was about the forbidden romance between the heroine, Lola Anderson and the hero, Dean Goodwin. She used to be one of his students, and she is the babysitter for his five-year-old daughter, Georgia. To make matters more interesting, his ex-wife added the element of surprise to their romance. She was literally crazy, and I wanted to scream at her. However, the depiction of her character falling apart was well-written, and I really enjoyed how the story progressed. I have to read more books by Erica Marselas. She won me over with this book, and I am really glad that I read it. Overall, a great read.
Erica Marselas brings a taboo story with a twist of suspense to us in the Perfect Storm. This story has many twists and turns to it, starting with the very beginning.
The characters are very well written, with heat and intrigue, but there is also a vulnerability between them. Unlike some taboo stories, this one has the in and outs of what an age gap relationship might have. However, in the background, you have a series issue going on with a family that needs help.
Erica is an author I will be reading in the future, guaranteed.
My first book by Erica and she has a new fan in me. This book ticked all my boxes taboo, age-gap, babysitter, former student it was the motherlode. Not to mention the deranged ex wife this book had it all in spades. The Perfect Storm was the perfect mix of drama, suspense, and lots of steamy moments. Loved this story and I can't wait to read more of her books!
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
maybe it’s just me, but I hate when books open with sex. I knew right then I wasn’t going to like it.
the heroine, lola, was acting like a child when dean wanted her to leave (RIGHT AFTER they had sex) because his soon to be ex wife was dropping off their daughter. lola is 19 btw.
on to the next

WOW! I almost don't know what to say! I went into this book NEVER expecting what happened to happen! MIND BLOWN! Reading the blurb I thought...oh you know, just a little delicious & forbidden age gap tonight. I BLEW through that book! I think I read it in ONE sitting!
Age gap is one of my TOP tropes to read and this one was FANTASTIC!!! Dean & Lola are ABSOLUTE FIRE!
I was fortunate enough to get an Arc.. Omg was this book everything!!! Erica did not disappoint it's thrilling, exciting with forbidden love. Perfection combination of kink an angst with a perfect title. Absolutely amazing a must read
I received this story as an ARC... and well... WOW! Drama… the lies... the secrets... forbidden love... hot sex! What more could a girl want?! ;) I don't want to give away to much and spoil it, but I highly recommend this read! You nailed it again Erica! Enjoy xo
Taboo Galore in The Perfect Storm. If you love taboo then this is for you! Right. Now.
Age Gap ✅ Student/Teacher ✅ Nanny ✅ Secret Taboo .... ✅ ✅
This book has it all. Love. Suspense. Sexy {I mean right off the bat the two main characters are getting it on}! Secrets. Thrilling.
Erica Marselas has done it again with Dean, Lola, and Peyton! I absolutely loved guessing what secrets everyone had and how it would be connected to one another and the plot.
Perfect Storm pulled me in and I could not put this book down. Filled with a taboo age gap, love, twists and suspense Perfect Storm was everything all rolled into one.
Falling for the babysitter, girl next door or ex-student; take you pick Lola was every one of those things. When Dean’s marriage started to fall apart, he tried he really did but some cracks are too big to be filled. Lola never meant to fall for Dean but she had to be in the house to get close for reasons she wasn’t sharing with anyone. When the ex-wife starts to unravel, deep secrets are revealed that changes everything.
Can Dean and Lola survive the fall out?
I really enjoyed reading Perfect Storm; Dead and Lola’s chemistry was burning up the pages and Marselas’s writing kept me on edge wanting more.
Forbidden romance. Age gap. An angsty twist. = Five perfect stars!
From the first page of this book you are hit in the face with this scorching hot forbidden romance between Lola and Dean that I literally could not get enough of. If you've read Erica Marselas before then you know her love scenes are nothing but FIRE on the page but the full blown inferno between these two almost melted my kindle. Throw in a scorned ex-lover and you've got a recipe for explosion. And I LOVED the twist, OMG. I almost dropped my kindle while I was reading. I've read everything Marselas has ever published and I'm in awe of how she penned this story. One hundred percent my favorite book from her to date!
I love a good read when there is other woman drama and this book was perfect for that. The heroine was straight up nuts and caused so many issues. I loved it! It was a little predictable for me with somethings but even with that I was engrossed in the love that Lola and Dean shared. I love that their love was strong enough to prevail through all the angst and drama. They had their ups and down, like all couples but they worked hard to stay together. If you want something different, enchanting and just plain addicting then you will love this book. I read it in a few hours and was sad when it was over. 4 stars #2OCCJD
I typically know from the first chapter if a book is going to be for me or not. Let's just say The Perfect Storm starts with a BANG and ONLY GETS BETTER FROM THERE. I love Dean and Lola are scorching, for sure, but underneath that is a love that endures all the craziness that comes there way.
Speaking of crazy, cue Dean's soon to be ex-wife Peyton. She gives up on her marriage to Dean, and it isn't until he gives up too, that she sees the error of her ways.
Then there's Lola. She's well, you'll have to read to find out, but trust me, it's worth every twist and turn and taboo moment.
OMG!! This book was A-ma-zing!! Dead y’all, I’m dead!! So this book starts of bangin’ in all senses of the word! 😉By the end of the very first chapter you are very aware that you are in for one hell of a ride, and oh what a ride it was. 🙌🏻
From the get go it’s obvious there is going to be lots of stuff going on in this book. But wait there’s more.. So let me break this down as spoiler free for you as I can, because #SpoilersSuck! Blurb already tells us that this is a Daddy/Babysitter romance. But HOLY HOT TEACHER on a bed of biscuits and gravy!! He’s alpha and sweet AF, at the same damn time!!
So if you think you are going in for the same ol’ forbidden Daddy/Babysitter romance. Well, you can chuck that notion right at the door, along with your panties cause this book is Hella Hot. 🔥You won’t be needing them briefs, ladies (only to change them😏!!) GAH!!! Just the way Dean looks at Lola.I mean who wouldn’t, she is young and gorgeous, and loves his daughter.
“She’s the perfect intoxicating, taboo treat, and I had fallen for her.”
But really! There is so much to this incredible story. I’m in awe of Erica’s ability to weave these characters together in a way, where you find yourself feeling like you are in their heads. Feeling every emotion they feel. I did that with EVERY character in this book, even those characters you love, Like sweet little Georgia. Or those characters you love to hate or just hate in general. 👿
Talk about a Mind-F! 🤯That’s because she’s honed into her craft so well. She just has this ability to bring you into her stories. She had me captivated from the start. The sights, the sounds and even the smells. She was conscious of every single small detail.
She gets better with each and every book and this one is truly unlike anything she has written before. This is full of love, lust, angst, and suspense. I was on the edge of my seat for many heart-stopping moments. Just wait till you read some of the sinfully delicious bedroom scenes. 🔥🔥
*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book.
My cr8zysockbookblock Blog overall ratings for this book! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- OBSESSED. Stars should be limitless! I was lucky enough to be an early reader of this book and have literally read it many times, just because I’m so in love with the story. Forbidden/taboo is my jam but this was like taking it and kicking it up So.Many.Notches! It was hot, hot, hot. Yet, still the love was real and sweet, and everything you want in a romance. 😍The flow was flawless. It is definitely an on the edge of my seat kinda book and I loved everything about it! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥- This book was hot AF! I mean truly, what’s hotter than a age gap, forbidden love story with a hot Dad and gorgeous Babysitter?! Not much! 🔥 This book just makes you wanna go pantyless and be bad! 😈 🌪Cliffhanger Warning- No Cliffhanger. But I would definitely love to see more of some of these characters! (It might surprise you who)
Sign me the hell up! I mean, I'd read Erica's shopping lists if she'd let me! The Perfect Storm is just that, perfect.
The forbidden story of Lola and Dean, the passion these two have for each other, it didn't leave me with questions like other such pairings have. For it to feel so natural to me straight off the bat, to be rooting for them from the first page, I was sucked in immediately and couldn't put it down!
There are hidden twists and turns around every corner, and sometimes it's hard to figure out which way was up, but by golly, Erica has written her best yet, and I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next!
Let's just say this story starts off with a bang. Erica sucks you right in from the very beginning. Dean and Lola are not your typical couple. She's his daughter's babysitter. He's going through a divorce. The passion they have for each other jumps off the page at you. Their scorching sex scenes leave you needing a fan. Throw in Dean's crazy ex-wife and you have drama galore. It's forbidden romance with twists you don't see coming. I loved every single word of this. You need to read this.
hmm i was expecting much more from this book but well, theres alot of contradictory moments. Peyton was crazy af, Dean seemed a little indecisive and Lola with that huge ass secret at the end. the forbidden element sure was there and sex was hot, but i did not enjoy some of the moments. 3 stars for me!
Perfect Storm by Erica Marselas is Lola and Dean's taboo , steamy and forbidden romance. This is a Babysitter/Daddy/Boss romance. What this story gives you is angst, taboo, age gap, drama, passion, forbidden love, kink, steamy moments, several huge twists , suspense, lies, secrets, intrigue , and yes- love which all leads to a shocking ending. The chemistry between young Lola and her boss/neighbor Dean is intense and so hot. I loved the emotions, feels, romance , characters and plot. This was a great journey that Lola and Dean took me on. The ending was great. Only thing is I felt was the ending did feel a tad rushed but overall, great read.
OH. MY. GOD! I'm trying to remember how to form sentences so I can describe this book. Perfect Storm has it all. Suspense, action, craziness, and all kinds of forbidden romance goodness. This is so different from anything else of Erica's that I've read, but that, I think, is part of what I love so much about it. She's stepped outside her usual romance and created something a little darker and crazier, but with the sizzling hot romance that you'd expect from her. Well done, Erica! I can't wait for the next one!
Perfect Storm by Erica Marselas is the story of Lola and Dean. Dean was once married to Peyton until she up and left him and their daughter Georgia. Peyton seemed to go off the deep end and didn't want to go back until Dean started to move forward with his life...then Peyton keeps popping up causing trouble. Lola is the babysitter for Dean but their attraction is more than either can ignore. Of course this is what sets off Peyton which adds the drama to their story.
This was my first book by this author it didnt disappoint but it was a little much at times. This book starts with Dean and Lola having a emotional affair while his marriage falls apart so now thats its over its like there horny teens. A wrench was thrown in when his wife isn't sure she really wants the divorce. Its kinda like they fell in extreme lust then love and it all kinda happened backwards. I definitely kept changing pages and reading.
The Perfect Storm was a taboo forbidden suspense book that you just won't want to put down. Lola and Dean have great chemistry and fell in love through tough times for Dean and that love will always conquer whatever they go through
