A century ago, a seer foretold that not only would my mate be the one to find me, but that she’d be a witch with a dark past. A witch and a vampire? Not bloody likely. No, I’ve been around the world, and I have met my share of witches. Trust me when I say there is no mate for me among them.

When a strange girl has a bad car accident passing through Diablo Falls, I’m just doing my job as an EMT to save her life. I have no expectations of anything. But as I accidentally taste her blood, the words of the seer ring in my ears: “One drop is all it takes.”

She has no idea who she is, what she is, or anything about her past. How can I convince this witch that she’s my mate?

First Taste by Laney Powel a five-star read that will astound you. This is a stand-alone in the Diablo Falls series, if you like your stories with a paranormal twist then you can’t go wrong with this series. This is not my first by this author as I have loved her work previously with Flirt Club as such, I am so thankful to the Flirt Club for introducing me to Bite Club. Laney Powel has always brought the heat, but I this one she brings fate to play its part as well, Avril will make you smile, and this story will make it so much more.

I loved this story by Laney Powell. I couldn’t put it down. I love the Diablo Falls series in general but this one was one of my favorites. I always love reading a vampire story.

Avril has an argument with her parents that does not end well. She decides to leave and travel for a bit. She has an accident in Diablo Falls that changes her life forever. Caleb is a vampire who works nights as a EMT. He is called to an accident where he discovers his mate. Will they be able to find their happy ending?

Avril had an argument with her mother she is blaming Avril for things that get broken in the house but Avril knows that it’s her brothers but they don’t stick up for her so she’s had enough, Avril packs her bags and goes to Niagara Falls no more is she going to be blamed no more. Caleb is a vampire who lives in Diablo Falls he’s a paramedic who’s just been called out to a car accident, when they have the girl in the ambulance Caleb gives the girl a bit of his blood to heal her but then she glows and then it’s gone, then the ambulance hits a pot hole and Caleb falls on the injured girl. He takes off his gloves to wipe his face and then he tasted it it was her blood and it just gave him a zing no it can’t be. Another fantastic addition to the Diablo Falls short stories and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Avril has always felt like she didn't belong in her family. So when she was cut off for something her brothers did she was done. She packed up some of her stuff and her car and left. Somehow she ended up in Diablo Falls and she crashes there. One of the EMTs is a vampire and gives her blood while they are treating her before sending her to the hospital. Caleb accidentally gets some of her blood in his mouth and realizes that she is a witch. When Avril wakes up she is in the hospital and can't remember anything. Caleb is with her and she tells him she thinks her name is Luna. Caleb offers her a place to stay while she figures out what her next move is going to be. Luna starts to remember her life and doesn't want to tell Caleb because what she is living now is what she wants instead of what she left behind. However when her parents show up she has no choice but to make a decision. Will Luna aka Avril stay with Caleb? Can Caleb claim is happy ending?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is a new series by The Bite Club, a group of authors that write paranormal romance. This series takes place in the fictional town Diablo falls. In this book, Caleb is a vampire and works as an EMT and responds to a car crash. Luna (Avril) was in the car accident and almost died, but Caleb gave her a drop of his blood to save her life. When on the way to the hospital, the ambulance hit a pothole and Caleb landed on Luna, tasting her blood. Caleb knew right away, Luna was his mate. Caleb was told a century before he would find his mate and she would be a witch. But Luna has no memory of anything before the crash. Luna names herself Luna and Caleb offers his guest house to stay, n he wants her close so he can watch over her and protect her while she heals. Luna and Caleb grow closer and soon Luna remembers, even if she doesn't want to. I enjoyed this book of this new series. I liked Caleb and thought he was sweet and he really cared for Luna. Luna's homelife was not a happy one and i think she would rather stay with Caleb. Good one.

Luna has had enough of the meanness of her mother so she takes off to Diablo Falls a small town where many of the inhabitants aren't human. While travelling there she has a car accident and is rescued by the locals One of those locals is Caleb the local EMT he also happens to be a vampire a seer has told him that his fated mate is a witch When he accidentally gets a taste of Luna's blood he realises she is that mate. Now Luna has found out secrets from her own past and Caleb will be with every step of the way as she unravels it

Avril comes to Diablo Falls by accident. She flees her family's home, having always been the literal black sheep of her perfect, cookie cutter family. Avril ends up in a car accident where she loses her memory of her previous life. Caleb is a vampire/EMT for Diablo Falls who is one of the people who rescues Avril. He feels a pull to her from the beginning, only to find out later that they were destined to meet, as was foretold to him a long, long time ago.

This was an interesting spin on a familiar story: boy meets girl, girl has amnesia, they fall in love, etc. I enjoyed reading it written from a paranormal perspective.

He finds his mate..............but does she want him???

Caleb is a vampire who is works as an EMT in Diablo Falls. Luna is a young woman gets into a car accident when she is fleeting her family. Years ago Caleb was told that he would be mated with a witch who would find him but he does not believe it nor does he want it. It turns out that Luna is a witch who does not know she is a witch. While working on Luna Caleb has an immediate draw towards her and quickly realizes why....................she is his mate as was foretold long ago.
So what happens when a vampire and a witch with amnesia get together? You will just have to read First Taste and step into the world of Diablo Falls.

I love Caleb and Luna and desperately want more 😉
Great story! Avril hates her home life and decides it's time to go. During a storm, her car crashes in Diablo Falls and she loses her memory. Caleb was told by a seer that his mate would find him. He's the EMT on the scene of the accident where he learns that she essentially has. With no memory 'Avril' calls herself Luna and begins to try to put the pieces together and find herself. Caleb is by her side the whole way. Luna learns she was adopted, which makes sense to her now, and wants to find out about her biological mom as well as who she really is. Wonderful story that has me desperately wanting more.

A short story of love. Caleb is a vampire that was told his mate would be a witch, but has never found her. Avril hates her life. Her family blames her for everything, even when its not her fault. She decides to leave and gets in a accident that makes her lose her memory. Caleb thinks she is his mate? Avril doesn't know who she is? What will she do? Can Caleb get her to stay? Can he tell her who she is to him?

The Vampire and his witch

Avril/Luna has alway felt like she didn't belong in her affluent family. Her brothers latest stunt has her paying the price. At 23 she is done with them.
Caleb is a vampire working as an EMT in Diablo Falls. He has just found his mate in the tiny women he just rescued from a serious car accident. She has.lost her memory.
Luna as she is calling herself, can't remember.anything before waking up in a hospital. Caleb makes her feel safe. She can't deny the attraction she feels for him.
A sweet and steamy short story.

This was a disappointment, I had really high hopes for this. The story was great and everything went well till Avril went to Caleb house, from that point the story became boring, for me the events were fast and the fact she lost her memory and all of a sudden she just wanted to take his close off was a little bit weird, like how the hell did she even know how to have sex and do all these crazy things if she can't even remember her name. I wanted more from this story and I expected it to be a 5 star but this was fast and boring .

Avril/Luna was always treated differently than her brothers. When she had finally had enough and left home she ended up wrecking in Diablo Falls and having amnesia. Caleb, a vampire was also the EMT that helped her. Giving her his blood made her turn blue. He realized she was his long awaited mate. Now the two have their histories to share and finally have their HEA.

Another great short story in the A Diablo Falls Paranormal Short Story series it is well written and kept me turning pages. This is Luna and Caleb's story about the car accident she is in and how being an EMT worker he gets to meet her when he is helping save her. Luna's Mother was really something! I enjoyed reading. Avril/Luna and her family don't get along so she decides to leave and ends up crashing in Diablo Falls and ending up with amnesia. Caleb a vampire is the EMT that was called to the accident. He had been told that his fated mate would be a witch so when he met Avril he realizes that she's the one he had been waiting for. This is a short, steamy story and a great addition to the Diablo Falls series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Making memories
What a great book! I love how the author had these two meet and the path they took to the HEA. It would be nice to see how things worked out, but that is meant for a different book. I really enjoyed this short story and I think you will too. I’m looking forward to reading the next book by this author.

Diablo Falls where the magic and the unusual is normal.
Avril who leaves the family home under duress, finds herself waking in a hospital bed with no memory of who she where she is, except for some strange reason she is drawn to Caleb the paramedic who brought her to hospital after the car accident.
This is a short supernatural story filled with plenty of adventure sexual tension and chemistry.

This was so different than anything else I’ve read by Lanel Powell but so good at the same time. We have a vampire and a witch and their explosive connection. This was short, sweet, steamy, and bloody. I am loving Diablo Falls and the different stories we are getting.

This was a good fun read i love the change up in styles and it being paranormal romance. I loved Luna and omg her family are all sorts of messed up. She definitely landed in the right place Diablo Falls and with her own vamp Caleb.

Im left wondering though who is Luna birth mum.

This is what I like to call a quick and easy read. It didn't take long to finish this sweet little romance that was enchanting and very entertaining. Caleb has got to be one of the sweetest vampire heroes and so deserving of his mate. I loved this!

Loved the characters and the storyline so couldn't put it down until the end so it's a well deserved five stars and I would recommend this book to everyone
