Hobson Hills Omegas #6

Unraveling the Omega

Rate this book
Story takes place in the Omegaverse. Hobson Hills Omegas: Book Six

Ernie Lawson meets the alpha of his dreams while on a Big Foot excursion with his best friends. No, Big Foot is not the man of his dreams. His man is big, handsome, and the shyest person Ernie has ever met. So shy, in fact, that Ernie is afraid introducing the alpha to his family will send him running.

The first thing people notice about Reuben Hart is that he is a big and quiet alpha. That's all most people bother to learn about him. Early on in his life, he became an expert at keeping his distance from people in an effort to control his social anxiety. When he meets Ernie Lawson, Reuben knows the omega is the love of his life. Ernie is sexy, quirky, and utterly adorable. More importantly, Reuben's omega is patient and understanding.

Reuben knows that they can't hide a relationship forever, especially if they want to truly be together and start a family. When the couple's calm, hidden life together is disrupted and Ernie suddenly needs Reuben's support, Reuben decides that he has to be there for his omega, even if it means facing his inner demons and a crowd of Wilsons.

Together, Reuben and Ernie learn that they can handle anything life throws at them. Together, they can build a family and a life that may not be perfect, but is absolutely perfect for them.

Author's Note: Around 40,000 words. This is a m/m, non-shifter, mpreg insta-love story with no angst and no cheating, just a HEA. There are a few potty mouths, so beware. 18+ readers only, please. It is the sixth book in the series and should be read after the book five, "A Pint for the Omega."

I have been self-publishing since October 2018. My books are extremely light and fluffy m/m romance with mpreg, and while they span a few subgenres of romance, they have similar themes of found family and love at first sight. Besides writing, I enjoy reading everything I can get my hands on, especially m/m romance. My personal favorites are mpreg, sci-fi, fantasy, and paranormal.

Adorable

Aww this story was super adorable. I could relate to Reuben so well and I loved how the Wilson family supported him and did things differently to make it better for him. As always, the pets and the babies brightened everything up.

Let me start by saying how pleased I was by how this author wrote Ernie's and Reuben's story! Now, I can't believe that I am saying this, but there may have been too many babies in this book... maybe!

Read this book if you want a feel-good romance with an HEA.

Keeping secrets can be difficult. Trying to keep a secret relationship from the Wilson family will have you laughing.

Ernie (O) keeps alpacas and sheep so he can use their wool for knitting. He meets super shy Ruben when he is injured hunting bigfoot. Ruben (A) has social anxiety and struggles with his desire to be with Ernie and his fear of his large and intrusive family. Together they work to overcome their problems and to help friends and family in trouble.

This book is rated 4 stars. The writing is fast paced so the story moves along quickly. Problems that arise are addressed but are easily solved. The side characters and the town of Hobson Hill continue to grow and become more familiar with this book.

Side Note: The side characters you are introduced to in this book have, or may in the future get, a book of their own. Every character is unique and the individual books in this series reflect this.

Personal Note:
I couldn’t help but laugh at farm animals ending up in the house. Brought me back to when I was a kid, cleaning off my miniature horse’s hooves and bringing him in the house because “why not, Mom?”. My favorite scene was near the end when Zoe and Ernie took out one of the bad guys like they had when dealing with a high school bully. That had me laughing out loud!

The Title Should Be read Changed

I think the title should be changed to Unraveling the Alpha. Reuben was a very complex character with his Social Anxiety. His parents understood him, his mother's sister did not, his couple of friends from the Navy thought they knew him, but he'd learn to put on a brave face. Most just thought he was antisocial and restless since he only stayed at jobs for short periods of time. But people would always try to become too familiar: invite him out with other coworkers, try to regularly engage him in conversations, and that's when he knew it was time to go.

It was time to leave Hobson Hills, but then he met Ernie. Ernie! No one except his parents accepted him and got him in the way that Ernie did. Being with Ernie meant staying though. Could he stay? Could he leave his heart behind? The cats? Goldie? Peppermint? He felt so bad that Ernie had to lie to his large intrusive family (and friends) in order to be with him. But Ernie was determined as Reuben was to be together.

I loved Book 6! Even though it had its terrible moments of crazy vindictive people, but then there was love, laughter, stepping up to help, and being very slowly unraveled

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

I really love the Wilson's but I don't like how Ernie's parents basically forced him to get clothes that he didn't like and on a date because all of her other kids getting married in an attempt to figure out who he was dating. I get that they want to protect him but they were way to nosey and demanding.
HOWEVER, I love the way that Ernie’s family came to visit Reuben two at a time twice a week so that he could get used to being around them. I love Mama she is funny and so sweet. I love Ernie and Reuben together and them figuring out their life together is just cute and sweet. It is funny that every time a Wilson or a Wilson by association finds out they have family or has family, that family moves to Hobson Hills. This book had drama, love and lots of kids that just made it a really good story.

To Many Names

There were to many Characters to keep up I need a chart Just to tell who was who what Just to tell who was who what was animals who they belong to it was just too much The writer should stick to Just a few family members And a lot less animals with names , just call it What it is a horse a cow a cat or dog , not human names. It was Was confusing. The last book I animal was named after a human both where Jackson's, that was really confusing. This will be my last book from this author Hope others enjoy her Writing

This one was slightly better than the others, but not better than the last two. The beginning was slightly better than the end. Still a lot of focus on the other characters and not as much on the MCs. Also, there seemed to be two different conflicts going on at once that weren't related to each other, which made it feel a little convoluted. It would have been better to focus on one conflict, mainly the issue with Reuben's cousin, and save Niccolo's conflict for his own book. That being said, I loved Ernie and Reuben together.

❤️

A very sweet and light read. Ernie and Ruben are adorable together and the way they support each other is super heartwarming. It was also nice to read about a character who realistically deals with social anxiety. As some who has suffered the same for years it was refreshing. Definitely worth reading.

Fun, Exciting, and Fast Paced

Hobson Hills may be a small town, but it’s growing! From the first time the chatty Ernie and the shy Reuben meet they’re interested in each other. Enjoy how Emie and Reuben share an important secret, protect friends and family, and find time to love on each other!!!

A whole series of books - lots of insta-lust, love and sex with sexy MC's and secondary characters who get their own story next, and so it goes throughout the series. Very entertaining and easy reading. Glad I planned to read them all, they were definitely best read one after the other in order.

Heartwarming

This is the kind of story that makes you feel good after reading it. As always, the Wilson family is kicking behind and taking names. I love how anyone that falls in love with a Wilson automatically becomes family.

Brilliant

Another fantastic addition to the series. Rueben and Ernie are so perfect together. Their love is so strong and that along with the extended family’s love was needed in this story. I highly recommend this.

Change of pace

Although this one is slower paced than the other Hobson Hills books I really loved the way that this one worked out. I was so happy that Rueben could find a place to belong.
