Elizabeth Bourgeret is a full-time author of novels, the Lavender Letters story subscription and the creator, writer and host of the Bag of Bones Podcast
A beach girl at heart, she is constantly trying to out run cold weather as she is happily living out her dream of traveling, writing and podcasting while stopping in the state of choice to discover all that it has to offer. When she’s not behind the computer or involved in a workshop, you can usually find her out of doors, near the ocean or some form of water, or embracing her full-on tourist-nerd; visiting any and all tourist traps or historical landmarks that catch her attention.
She loves digging deep into American history, helping other authors reach their dreams and creating new stories with vibrant characters that will touch your heart.
A “forever student”, she is always seeking and learning from each and every adventure put in front of her.
The tragedy that starts the book off was hard to read. I was enjoying the miracles after that and thought it would just be a nice heartwarming tale. It followed that everyone would hound her to be healed. Then came the twist, which made me want to turn the pages faster. There were unexpected parts throughout. Don't read the blurb and take it at face value as the whole story.
The story has good characters and an interesting plot. The twist made it move along instead of it just being a list of miracle upon miracle. I was satisfied with how Hannah's story ended and with the added surprise. Perhaps a sequel is in the wings?
I recommend this for people who read books about angels, but there is not an overtly religious feel to it. I also recommend it for anyone who's ever indulged in magical thinking or prayed for a miracle. Anyone who longs to see their family members who have passed on, will be able to relate to Hannah as will anyone who is having trouble getting over the deaths of loved ones. (I received this book in a goodreads giveaway.)
I won this wonderful book from Goodreads! While Ms Bourgeret notes this is a new genre for her wring it reads like she’s been writing this style for forever! Characters are all well described and understood by the reader. I loved the whole plot and was sad by the ending because of course I wanted the book to continue on and on. I highly recommend this book! 4 stars
