This devotional was filled with lots of reminders of how much our Heavenly Father loves us.

Overall, it was a nice devotional even if parts felt a bit cliche.

The aesthetic of the book was very beautiful and I appreciated that.

If you are looking for a nice, pretty devotional this is definitely for you and would make a lovely gift.

I am reviewing a copy of Unafraid through Barbour Publishing, Inc/Barbour Books and Netgalley:

In Unafraid we are reminded that fear can grab your throat, raise your blood pressure and negatively impacts our walk with Christ and it can effect many other areas of our life, and even our health.

We are reminded too of the importance of speaking up for those who cannot speak for themselves. As Christians we are called to be a voice to the voiceless. Often people find it easier to listen than to speak up, but we need to speak up when it comes to people’s voices not being heard. The Lord makes it clear that he wants to speak up on behalf of those who can’t speak for themselves. Fear can comets anytime often when we are least expecting it, as we are going on with our day to day life, something can happen. It is pointed out too that fear is easy to sink into. But it is pointed out too that it is not God that gives us a spirit of fear.

In Unafraid the authors point out too that the level of calm you experience does not just depend on your trust and confidence in God, it also depends on your perspective.

The importance of discerning what information is reliable is something the authors also address, reminding us that being able to discern the truth from the panic reactions allow us to have faith instead of to fear.

We are reminded too that when we need encouragement the best place we can go is to God. It is pointed out too that our Faith shapes our attitudes. We are reminded too that God has a perfect timetable.

The importance of living unafraid is addressed as well. We need to stop tip toeing around what if’s and maybe. It is pointed out too that no matter who we are, or what we may have done in the past God can use you, and you can find courage in that.

It is important to go to God it is important that we go to God when we fear as if everyone is against us.

Unafraid is the perfect devotional for the times we live in, therefore I give it five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!

I chose this book before COVID-19 hit and am so very glad that I did. I would not rule out divine inspiration as leading me to it. Unafraid helped calm my frayed nerves and frustrations during a time in which I needed to be strong for my family. Whenever I felt overwhelmed, I took a break to read for 10, 30 or more minutes, and, finished feeling more ground, calm and connected to a God who loves me and will carry us through these dark times. I know I will keep returning to this book for years to come.

I will admit, this devotion took me longer than expected to complete. That’s not to say the material was uninteresting or that it was really difficult to get through. In fact, it was the opposite! I loved how this book took bite-size chunks of scripture, paraphrased them to make them more understandable, then provided a call to action and prayer. This book made it easier to understand and relate to the Bible, and I truly appreciated the effort Donna put into creating this devotional!

I received and ARC from NetGalley, but all opinions expressed are my own.

This devotional is so cute! It is filled with a ton of really great reminder of God’s love for us! The pages are so adorable! I highly recommend this book if you are the kind of person that needs these reminders of God’s love and that he will always have our back! While I did really love this book, I felt like some of the passages were kind of blanket statements, and others felt like it was a little bit of a stretch.

Traveling through life, it can often feel like we're doing it all alone. But God is with us every step the way. This Unafraid devotional features more than 120 readings along with prayers and Scripture selections encouraging readers to develop a personal one on one time with the creator. The readings focuse on finding peace in your relationship with the Lord and developing an unwavering courage to face life.

2020 has been a year of challenges and unpredectible events. It's been a year where fear has run rampant. If there's ever been a time that we've needed courage, it's today. While reading through this devotional, I was reminded that fear doesn't come from the Lord. The author keeps pointing it all back to God and how He walks with us through every situation. This devotional was a timely and encouraging read.
