I'm sorry I couldn't rate this higher as there are many positives about this book. However, I took issue with the author's repeated use of the phrase "if you're like most girls.." (or the alike).
I request these books with a special young loved one in mind and I would absolutely hate for her, or any young girl, to feel alienated because they aren't 'like most girls'. I feel like this phrasing could lead to the young reader having the belief that if they don't 'dream of being a princess', then there must be something wrong with them. I do not think that's the message this book is trying to portray, if anything I'm certain the author is trying to make the reader feel more included and 'just like everyone else' but I felt it was important to point out that it may have the opposite effect to the one intended.
I also raised an eyebrow to the use of the title 'Daddy God'. I could be way behind the times or something and maybe that's quite a common name to use, but I personally didn't like it at all.
Other than that, I think this is such a great idea for a book! It feels fresh, I think it would be appealing to young girls and it's definitely a book I can see myself gifting.

Loved this book. The introduction was easy to understand for young girls. The points were positive and helped bring the Bible to life for everyday devotions. My nine year old daughter was giggling at the intro but the points were relevant to her life. It helped her connect scripture with her everyday life. What I felt was missing was a question or two to reflect about what was read for the day.

My interest in this book was to read it and have daily devotions with my granddaughter in a year or so. I read through it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I can hardly wait til she's a little older and we can study this devotional book together.

This sweet little devotional is ideal for girls 7 to 9 years old. Scripture passages are followed by a short devotional spoken at a level super easy for that age group and totally applicable for situations they may find themselves in. It’s a good introduction of how to apply scripture to daily living.
However, sometimes there were phrases that were more stereo-typical and might be construed as something the young girls should be/experience since “most girls”. Perhaps a different turn of phrase would work better, such as some girls or a few girls or you may or may not have…. Also, I’m not keen on “Daddy God”, though I understand what the author is likely trying to portray.
On the whole, if you’re not looking for deep theology, this book if read together as parent and child is a tool that could be utilized to open up dialogue.
