This book contains explicit sexual violence. Excerpt with The little girl crouched in the tangled patch of thorns and briars, shaking. Her terror-filled eyes were wide. Her lips trembled. The matted, muddy mess of her blonde hair blended perfectly with the scraggly limbs of the brush around her. She was young. Five years old. But her survival instincts had been honed over the last few years. She knew she had to stay quiet. And small. Maybe, just maybe, Earl wouldn’t find her. Maybe she could make it till morning. She crouched a little lower in the darkness. Just maybe.

More Like Sci-Fi

Stories like this are hard to read, of course, but when the author tosses details in the plot that make it seem like a fantasy or sci-fi story, it makes skipping whole pages better than reading. For an author to become a "bestseller" on the coattails of child abuse is shameful.

WTHeck.... the ending was horrible!

This book was great until the end. The author could have given a little more of a homecoming ending instead of leaving the main character walking down the road with a broken rib and punctured lung.
So disappointed?

Too many typos and misspellings

Needs to be fixed. Too many typos or would have been better. Seems to have been written too fast. Send them to me first so I can fix them for you

Very discriptive

I enjoyed this book. It was very well written and the plot really sucked you in right away. I found myself really feeling the pain that Earl inflicted on his victims especially Tess. I was proud of her when she got her revenge on Earl.
Perfect ending.

I picked up this book and read it through to the end without putting it down. Harsh, tragic, heartwarming and disgusting all wrapped into one book. So many feels in this one.

Awful

Good gawd this is so boring . It just keeps going and going and should of ended long ago. It's not believable at all and just get worse the longer it runs on . The mistakes are rediculous as well.
