A real-life, sensitive story of an introvert school girl who gets trapped in an unconventional relationship that the society would never approve of. Will love win this time? A story that every parent must read to understand what might be going on in their children's minds. Read this gripping short story to find out! Note : The story is sensitive and not for the light-hearted.
It’s a really different read for me and it is based on true incident and I agree to the author as I have heard one or two similar incidents. The book is short and quick read. The protagonist of the book is Sana. She is in her teenage age, studying 9th standard. Her mom dad focused and appreciated more his brother Dev. She often went on holidays at her aunt’s home to meet cousins. During that her uncle supported and encouraged her in every moment. But does he have other motive behind him? Or is driven by love and which form of love? Read the book to unfold further plot. The plot is based on true incident and different. The language of the book is lucid. It’s simple yet beautiful. I liked the twists plotted. Recommended to everyone to be aware of such type of situations as well as to understand mindset of everyone resemble to the people in the story. Overall good one.

The story is based on a real life event and the author has described it an awesome fashion. Some events happened to Sana was really heart wrenching but hope is something one should always stick to. For me it was really heart touching and I couldn’t stop pondering upon it for sometime Cover is really intense and deep

Just like his previous book, Author has really expressed emotions amazingly and no wonder this is such a good read and also an unique and different concept for the plot is used.

"Life puts you in difficult situations to teach you various lessons."
Brewed with powerful emotions and strong lessons of life, "Forbidden Love" by Abbyshek Chandra presents its readers with a well-crafted masterpiece sewed from the real happenstance of the society.
The story, inspired by true incidents, revolves around the narrator protagonist Sana, an isolated girl, who becomes a part of an unconventional love story, being dragged down to the path of forbidden love from where return is impossible.
Narrated totally from a teenage girl Sana's perspective, the story grabs the readers attention right from the beginning as the protagonist expresses her extreme anguish, emotional turmoils and unattainable wish to turn back the clock to undo her biggest mistake.
The first person narration and the technique of talking directly to the readers makes the story come closer to their hearts and makes one feel as if the protagonist is directly talking to the readers, confining in them her greatest secrets to be kept safe forever.
Written in a lucid language with a unique storyline and swift flow that contributes towards a quick and easy read, the book is so engrossing that one has to complete it in a single sitting.
It is remarkable how so many themes are skillfully dealt with in such a short engaging story. The theme of love, lust, family, society, drama, etc. is crucial to the plot. The chills of teenage infatuation, predicament of the children whose fathers have a transferable job, pain of a topper who gets dethroned from her position and bashed by family at the same time, the negligence of the girl child in the family, role of parents in proper upbringing, girls vs boys discrimination that starts right at home, problems faced by teenage girls, etc. are all stringed together in a single story.
The emotional turmoils and inner conflicts in Sana's life is so meticulously described that it establishes an instant connection with the readers who can actually feel the protagonist's emotions as if they were their own. With the brilliant narration and relatable situations that makes Sana one with the readers, one actually lives the story for themselves while reading it.
The sweet love story which is central to the book won't let the smile vanish from the lips, even after knowing that it's definitely short-lived. The smile evidently does disappear shortly after, when havoc breaks and the cruelty of the ruthless society is exposed once they discover about the forbidden love affair.
The narrator have a habit of cracking jokes even at the worst situations that demand serious attention. It's weird for the readers to laugh at a critical time, yet they are helpless at the hands of the writer with a great sense of humour. The author uses sarcasm, irony and humour to lighten the serious mood a little in the story narrating a dark reality.
However, the story is a clear warning to the crooked society, weak family structure and faulty parenting that leads the teenagers down an unreturnable path. Sana's loneliness, feeling of abandonment and ache for affection made her wander for love outside her family and she ended up committing the worst mistake of her life. Parenting disaster coupled with the societal mindset were responsible for the crisis she faced and the fate she met with.
The real life story is bound to leave the readers speechless with the emotional ending that would probably haunt the soul forever. The last line of the book will certainly leave the readers in a state of shock as a sudden realisation will dawn upon them.
The book is a brave attempt on the part of the author who picked such an unusual, sensitive, unconventional plot to narrate with an artistic efficiency. There is a need for more such stories to create a buzz about the sad incidents happening around, to draw the attention towards the problems lurking within the four walls of one's own home and spread awareness so that such incidents never repeats itself.
All the characters are well-developed but portrayed only through the eyes of the protagonist narrator. As it is first person narrative, we mainly get to know the personality of Sana and deeply understand her feelings and thought process. Others whom we see through her eyes play their role only in her proximity and the readers get to see them as she herself sees them.
The enticing title is perfect, for the story is about the forbidden love affair that brought havoc in Sana's life and changed everything forever.
The captivating cover is at par with the plot starring a lonely isolated girl standing all by herself staring into the blank sky with no one to share her feelings with. It was loneliness that drove Sana into the arms of her forbidden love but that too left her lonely and distressed in the end.
Illustrating a true story within the golden framework of a short novel, "Forbidden Love" by Abbyshek Chandra beckons everyone to join an emotional ride through a thought-provoking story with a strong message, the hangover of which would probably stay etched forever in the heart of the readers.
Sometimes you can hurt yourself more than anyone can hurt you just by keeping all your feelings hidden. The book Forbidden Love is all about yearning for love and that one person to share your feelings with. I happened to read it on a train journey and I finished it so soon. There was no dragging about. It was to the point and the story ended with a clear message. Sana lives in Mumbai with her mother and twin brother Dev. Her father is an Inspection Officer in a bank and is always away on business trips. According to Sana, her mom and brother are always a team and she feels neglected. Her father loves her but he is always away and there is no one at home to support her. So she focussed on studying and kept to herself most of the time. Everything changed on one holiday when they went to visit Sana's Maasi at her home in Dehradun. She had a crush on her uncle Karan. So she wanted to spend her time with him. She pours her heart out to him about how she feels unseen at home and he always hears her out and cheers her. So Sana thinks that she had finally found someone who loves her. They start talking to each other over the phone after the holidays and Sana becomes happy. Finally they both do what they are not supposed to do. Forbidden Love. When everyone at home finds out about the forbidden love, all hell breaks loose. They beat her up and threaten her to stop this nonsense once and for all. She becomes so sad that she tries to commit suicide. What happened to Sana is very heart breaking. All she wanted was some love and appreciation at home. When children receive ample love and time from parents I don't think they would go out in search of someone else who could understand their feelings. At least they would think hard before doing anything that they are not supposed to do. After reading this book, I felt grateful and blessed for the wonderful childhood that I had. The things that we take for granted are a dream for someone else. This book reminds how childhood moulds a person's character. It's a sad story with a sincere message. I would rate it a 3.5/5.
I was not expecting the story to be so painful. It's a one with a sad ending. An ending I did not expect. Sana a quiet introverted young girl falls in love with her uncle. The entire book is narrated by the character of sana making it all the more sad. The book deals with a very important issue of neglecting of girls in households and how that neglect in turn getting attached to the one person in their lives who talks to them or listens to them. The title just about tells you the gist of the story but as you read along you find the struggles of a teenage girl and how the society make is such that the happiness of a child is less important than what the society will think. Hearing the story through sana's narration made it a one sided narrative. I felt that in order to understand the characters apart from sana would have made it a better story and also make readers understand how it's more than a love story. It's a mirror to the society and it's shortcomings towards taking care of girl child in households. An incomplete & lonely heart will find refuge in the first person who speaks to them. Often we do not understand why the infatuation? Why such close attachment? If it would have happened with someone I know, I would try to understand why the surrender? Why blindly getting attached? Instead we resort to violence, closing up all doors. It's a small book. There were punctuation and grammar errors but it's first edition so it's bound to happen. Its a MUST READ.
Title of the Review: Match with the society's nasty concept.
Untill I came to know that the story is based on true narrative, I kept hoping for it to be a fictional one because it demeans love.Narration of story is good enough to have readers' attention & the title perfectly suits to the story. As there is no divison of chapters on title basis, it's one negative point. Both poles of each side of magnet called love are obscene in the language of society. Though, I'm not a preacher of society's rules in anyway but while reading the book, I ashamed at girl how she can be so foolish. At that time, I realised that somewhere this society also has clue. I thought; Whether I call her, A Fool or Innocent? But finally, I got the answer of my self created question as she gave me a tip-off of her innocency. She should be..... You should read this book, there you may find a reflection of suggestion from the mistake she did (As wise people say, you should learn from another's mistakes). The matter of concern is How??? Go, Read the book & Find the answer. Recommendation: I recommend this book especially to the girls.
Forbidden love by Abbyshek Chandra is the story that revolves in and around Sana. Narrated in first person, the story gets instant connection. Theme of the book is very different from the mainstream literature of these days and requires to be read and said aloud only to create more awareness.
As children and teenagers, most of us make mistakes and get carried away with emotions rather than looking at the bigger picture. This is the age where peer pressure comes into play and very often than not, we fall prey to people we trust the most. Sana, being the protagonist and victim at the same time, tell us her story very bravely and tries her best to come out of it.
Being it a book of only 66 pages, it would be unfair to give more of the plot, and thus I'd like the reader himself/herself to read and find more of it. Narration is apt and language used is innocent and vulnerable.
Few people might find the plot unconventional, but being a responsible society where such instances have been happening ever since, I feel turning blind eye can never be a solution. I thus recommend people opting this book to read more like a lesson and awareness, rather than the general moral policing.
A girl fell for her uncle. She was going through a dilemma that her family did not love her enough and she was not getting much attention.
Her uncle gave her hopes. Being a teenager with a hormonal rush , she surrendered her loneliness to him, who was a pervert and used his own niece to satisfy his lust.
When the truth came out, her family tried a lot to make her understand her faults. But her blind love and continuous brainwashing from her uncle made her do something which is forbidden in family relationships.
When she got pregnant, her uncle denied that it was his child and totally cut off the communication between them. She realized the harsh reality and her stupidity.
And then: An Article published on January 24, 2008 in one of the leading newspapers: “Eighteen-year-old pregnant girl commits suicide; uncle arrested" . It is based on a real life story which reveals the dark side of family relationships. The turmoil of hormonal rush during adolescence can change the perspective of life completely. The writing style is simple. But there are some grammatical mistakes. Overall a light read with an intriguing plot.

The story is about a young girl Sana, her emotions feeling and lifestyle is neatly portrayed from her schooling age till she adolesces. This at the background showcased how parenting should be and should not be. And it is a great attempt by the author to pick up such a story to educate from the harsh evil societies happening around us. Her uncle took advantage of her state and this sort of unusual acts could be checked by the only proper parenting and rendering/ showering love upon their kids and more importantly, by understanding them(kids) and their mentality. Bringing up this book from her (Sana) point of view (here from the protagonist aspect) and her feelings are painful and will definitely make one understand how much turmoil she confronted. This book points out the essence of how parents/family need to shower affection upon them and take their side when needed so that they would never ever wander for love outside the family and would never end up their life in crisis.
A book highly recommended to all the parents and the youths so that they won't fall prey for any sleazes/immorals lurking within our own arena.
Forbidden love is a based on a real life story that gonna touch your heart.
The story is about Protagonist Sana and is narrated from her point of view. Right from childhood Sana is deprived of love. The love one feels from parents, feeling of security and belongingness is something she craves for. As she hits her teenage years this feeling of loneliness is all over her and she is seeking for true love.
She then fall in love with a man nearly about her father's age. She feels secured, loved and finally a feeling of care and belongingness hits her. This man promised her to stay by her side and eventually marry her. As time passes, he betrays her and Sana could not bear this heartbreak and takes a extreme step.
Who was this man? Why it's called forbidden love? What happened to Sana?
Read further to know more. The story is a short story of 66 pages. The author has beautifully penned down all the emotions. As a reader, one could deeply resonates with feeling of Sana and all the emotional turmoil she went through. Overall a good read.
Ordinary story that seems to be inspired from a popular Indian TV show
It's an age old story similar to what we saw till the 80s, with a young girl who thinks no one loves her and in comes a handsome man who sweeps her off her feet. Subsequently they fall in love, against the norms of society. They have sex once and she immediately gets pregnant. Unsurprisingly, the man refuses to accept the baby and the girl commits suicide. There's no originality and it's very easy to predict the ending as countless tacky stories have had the same plot. Agreed that the author managed to pique my interest with the first chapter but subsequently I read the book only because I hate leaving books after I've started reading them. A girl born and raised in Mumbai would be far more practical and not as naive as the protagonist has been displayed. Even if the story is set in the late 90s or early 2000s (assumed with the limited usage of mobile phones displayed in the story), no girl in her right mind would go against her well to do parents to be a second wife to a man who's not only her aunt's husband, her cousin's father but is also 2 decades older than her. Rather than feeling sorry for the protagonist, I'm amazed at her stupidity.

Must recommend to Everyone. This is my most emotional read of the day. Literally cry after reading till end.
‘Forbidden Love’ by Abbyshek Chandra is actually about a girl who just wanted someone to love her deeply. The story may seem like an inappropriate relationship between a girl and her uncle at first but it actually has a deep meaning of how we become when we are aching for love. Sana, An eighteen year old girl who falls in with her uncle, Karan, ends up committing suicide because she thought he loved her and he betrayed her. The story is based on a real life event and the author narrates it from the girl’s point of view perfectly. Some events happened to Sana was disturbing and makes us want to just tell the girl that she is going to be okay. For me it was really heart touching and I couldn’t stop thinking about it even hours later I finished the book. I recommend you give it a read because even if you’re a slow reader it will only take about 30 minutes to read the entire book.
It's an amazing short read. The protagonist Sana is an introvert who loves with her twin brother and mom. And as her brother Dev was momma's he always had her support but Sana had no support because her father don't stay with them coz of his job. But as stars collide Sana met a person who made her feel comfortable and then falling for the person was so obvious. But it's not that easy to love! She faced it's consequences at it's worst. Who was that guy? What did happen to Sana after that? To know all these things do read FORBIDDEN LOVE.
I just loved reading this book. It's a short read and anyone can finish it in one go. The writing style of author is amazing. Language used is simple and lucid. Everyone should give it a try. The cover is so beautiful. And I doubt any other title could not have matched the story so well

The plot revolves around the life of Sana who lives with her twin brother and her mom. Her mom is the support system of her twin but, unfortunately, she lacks the same support system for, her father is usually not around due to his job. That is untill a mysterious guy enters her life and they embark the journey of their forbidden love.
I enjoyed reading this short and lovable story. The story of Sana touched my heart. The writing style is simple and elegant. The cover is beautiful and the title is perfect.
Throughout the story I cringe but in last pages it hurts to know that how could he do that . That's what we call Lolita and it is still happening . Karan have sick mentality because he knows her when she is 13 years old , he is sick , perverted man who only wants to devoure her and in end he did . She left this world. This books shows both mentality of victim and suspect .
I just hope this book will help someone out there . And to know that it's real story I am devastated .
Forbidden love by Abbyshek Chandra is a real-life story with uncoventional love as its core. It's a story of a girl named Sana who used to live in Mumbai with her twin brother Dev and mother, as her father had a transferable job. Further it's about the life of Sana who inspite of good grades and good nature has never got the attention of their parents which was always given to her brother. She received that care and affection from her uncle. Read further to know how the story turned out.
I would like to give this book 4 ✨ It's really amusing, as it's based on real story it makes me vexed about the people who were the characters of this book. Fairly written and depicting the reality with excellence. I'm piqued only because of the character who made real mistake & i lost in that context disconsolate. Although book is amazing yet it gives oblivious signs to the person who reads. Author made his fervour attempt in writing this book &that's what i like enough.
