Marion's husband Raynor is dying and already she's promised to another, Wyborn a Norse conqueror, she finds herself married before she's even had time to mourn. A huge adjustment is required not only from Marion and Wyborn but Wyborn's men and the villagers but not everyone is happy with this arrangement and trouble is not far away.
This is a great book which has love, violence, loyalty, betrayal and some wonderful characters.
