Legend states that a Horseman and a human woman who share dreams are destined to mate for life.
Terra, an elite Fighting Carrier, has spent his nights in delicious torment, sharing dreams with a woman who stirs his soul like no other. Unable to control his desire, he travels to her home village to claim her.
Inez enjoys her freedom too much to chain herself to a husband, even one as magnificent as the rugged, black-coated Horseman who visits her dreams. Yet when astride his sleek equine back or wrapped in his steely human arms, she cannot deny the truest love she has ever known.
The book just wasn't very exciting. Sort of 'My Little Pony' for adults...
The hero has a human form [so he can make the heroine VERY happy, repeatedly:] and a flying centaur form with wings. It's really hard to imagine where they find room for the saddle and rider... Also, he put the saddle on himself AND cinched it - kind of hard to imagine if you ever tacked even a cooperative horse.
I was looking for something naughty and sassy to read and thought this book looked promising. However, I kept waiting for the hero and/or heroine to have some sort of internal struggle they had to work through and that never happened. For being so vehemently against meeting Terra initially, Inez fell into his bed mighty fast and accepted him too easily for my tastes. I like a little more angst in my stories and this one didn't quite fit the bill.
When a horseman & human (gather) have a shared a dream of each other that means that they are destined for each other as mates... Inez wants freedom to choose & she doesn't wanna marry but will Terra...
I give the book two stars because it's a creative idea and I really tried to like it but it's described as an erotic romance and the relationship has absolutley no tension or romantic build up, just sex. The characters fell flat for me and the descriptions were lacking.
So far this book isn't too bad. It is different from what I am used to reading but, I'm open to new themes, etc. I'm only about 1/3 of the way through it yet.
It was surprisingly good. It makes me want to read a book with Susana and Linn in it, but apparently Susana ends up with Moor, which is very misleading. Very, very misleading.
