211: A Pretty Little Savage

Rate this book
Things aren't always what they seem ... Abuse and tragic loss have left 19-year-old Jada feeling like normal doesn’t exist and happy endings are only in fairytales. Hoping to one day escape her demons and the city that caused them, she focuses on her education, seeing that as her ticket out. With the help of her older sister Joy, she stays afloat financially; however, the money comes with significant risks.

Personality wise, Joy is the opposite of Jada. She doesn’t care about an education when to her, the only point of one is to make money and secure their future. Instead of wasting her time reading and studying a book, she plots on taking from others as soon as they slip up. Her beauty and intelligence make it extremely easy to plot amongst the elite.

211: California police code for a robbery that has taken place or is in progress. Robbery is Joy's scheme of choice, and there is no method to her madness, so anyone is fair game. All Joy wants to do is look out for a mentally fragile Jada; however, she soon learns that her actions and presence may be her precious sisters’ downfall.

Pretty good but missing something (short story)

This is my first read by this author, had I known it was a short story I probably wouldn't have read it. But I'm not disappointed, well I am a little. I think this should have been a full story, I love reading about this subject, im not gone lie i figured out everything in the very beginning of the book. Although the author tried to make you wait until the end to reveal everything, it wasn't hard to figure it out in the very first chapter. Idk if this is her first book if so then it was a really good read. Idk I guess I don't like how it ended, there was definitely something missing, and some details were not needed because it really didn't add to the story. I honestly feel like some of the details took away the reveal at the end, so if the reader doesn't figure out what's going on at the beginning they definitely will if they continue with the reading.
