Let me break with tradition and address my negative comments upfront. On page 96 she writes, “He sat on the ground, oddly enough, next to the shelf of dog food he had been rearranging earlier.” The word “ground” is defined as “the bare surface of the earth.” Given the fact that our hero was inside his grocery store, she should have used the word “floor” instead. I only mention this because I find this mistake frequently. My goal is to educate as many authors as possible, one author at a time.

Now, on to the review itself. I was pleased with how capably Ms. Hendricks treats her protagonist’s demonstration of their Christian faith without being overbearing or preachy. Consequently, the narrative is squeaky clean. The storyline is interesting and entertaining with a variety of avenues involved. It has an emotional romantic element that is handled with tact and gentility. Additionally, the characters are believable and human. I found myself so involved in the story that it was hard to lay my iPad aside. In addition, I was pleased that I had read the prequel first because I had already been introduced to a number of the key players. Five stars!

'Forgiveness'

Book1 of this series was definitely a story of heart and soul, what it takes to forgive yourself and helping those in need.

Here is a passage from page 76:

'Logan hung his head and lost his appetite. Every time he thought about how much he'd hurt the only woman he would ever love, he wanted to strangle himself. He was stupid. Grade AA stupid!
He needed to get a copy of today's sermon - it might help him.'

"I don't need to forgive her. Lizzy did nothing wrong. It was all me."

"Exactly. You need to forgive yourself. You can't keep wallowing in your guilt like a pig in mud. You have to forgive yourself and move on. If that means without Elizabeth, then so be it. You need to leave your cares at God's feet and let Him decide what's best for the two of you."

Will Elizabeth and Logan find their way to forgiveness and into each other’s arms?

Great new series!

I love the way the author utilized scriptures in the storyline!
Perfect examples of how, when, where and why a person might need to learn the meaning behind specific scripture verses and how God wants is to apply them in our every day lives.

For Lizzie to truly understand God's command of forgiving others, no matter how she feels about them, she had to find several scriptures in forgiveness to understand that she needs to forgive Logan no matter of she still angry with him or not. Logan learns that open, honest communication would have prevented the whole misunderstanding. Lizzie learns that of she had only allowed him to apologize and explain why he made the decision he did that they could have discussed things and prevented all the anger and heartbreak.

I can't wait to read the rest of the series!

Nice story

3 1/2 stars. This is a new author to me and the story was a sweet, clean read. However, it ended quite abruptly and left a lot of unanswered questions. I agree with some other reviewers wondering why Bart was introduced, the sheriff’s office appeared to do nothing about him and his gang and the sudden influx of homeless people to the town. What about Ana’s family? Why was Max so down on homeless people?

I looked ahead to the description of book two and see that Bart is mentioned again so I’m guessing that if we want answers we have to buy the rest of the series.

I liked the small-town atmosphere and the many helpful townspeople, along with Elizabeth’s wonderful family.

Having read other stories about the Manning family that focused on the cowboys, it was interesting to read about the twin daughters.

Elizabeth had her heart broke so badly by the love of her life from high school. She is finally starting to trust men and dating Max. It is interesting to see how Elizabeth is so drawn to helping others. This is a passion of hers and she will not let anything get in the way of her doing it.

Logan has grown up a lot while he was away. He regrets hurting the only girl he ever loved. Logan wants to make it up to Elizabeth but has a very hard time trying to get her to listen to him. Both his sister and Elizabeth’s sister try to help but will they succeed is the question.

This book is very strong on forgiveness and Christian values.

This story illustrates the impact of holding onto anger. Elizabeth's walk with God falters when her childhood sweetheart breaks up with her before leaving for college. Despite his attempts to reconcile, she consistently ignored or avoided him. For ten years, this anger held her captive, a reality she could no longer endure, particularly with Logan's return to town. Upon forgiving Logan, the love and peace she once knew flooded back into her heart. Logan seeks a second chance, recognizing that ending their relationship without discussing their future was the gravest mistake of his life. Trust and communication are vital aspects of love, essential for a couple to experience the marriage God intends.

Reading this book and hearing our new series at church confirmed I need to take the next step. We all need to forgive passed hurts and trust in God's peace He will give us as we move forward in lives challenges. Forgiving yourself as well as others is important to you spiritually growth. Great Read

This was a great story of young love that ended in hurt and unforgiveness for a time. Logan left Elizabeth of whom he truly loved but thought he was doing her a favor leaving her for veterinarian school while he went to California. Logan came home because his dad had a serious heart attack and needed him to help run the family store. Elizabeth was dating a friend from school but found they were too far apart in their beliefs as she wanted to help the homeless as Max said they were lazy and useless. There was a lot of action between the first chapter and the last. A must read to improve your day knowing forgiveness and redemption was in this story. God is good!

Birth of a horse, 1st scene. Incredible creation. Montana veterinarian Elizabeth Manning heals animals and helps the homeless. I liked this part of the story. It's nice to remember those who have no home. Logan Hayes forced home to run his sick father’s store. His passion for Elizabeth is strong. This created tension. Lots of tension. Danger in several scenes. Very good read. I look forward to the next book in this series, as the characters are interesting, the plot exciting, and the message, eternal.

Fantastic book

What a great weekend read. This is a great Clean romance with just enough adventure, but not so much you can't read before bed! I have to be careful about what I read at now night. I don't want my heart racing because something is wrong, is scary. But this story was nice. There was adventure but it turned out fine quickly. I would recommend this book for a nice relaxing read!

Overall, I found Elizabeth's story intriguing although, at times, the trips related to helping the homeless, caused a bit of tension. Several subplots were left unresolved; perhaps they'll be tied up in future stories. The story is occasionally stilted and religious. Nonetheless, I found it enjoyable to read.

Entertaining. Happily Ever After. Haunting. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

Second Chance Ranch

As stated, this was a clean and wholesome romance story. The twins, Chloe and Elizabeth, one was a nurse and the other was a veterinarian. Elizabeth and Logan were in high school together and just knew they would goth college and then marry. Logan thought he knew what best for Elizabeth and set her free to pursue her career at a different college. It took sometime but things finally were worked out. Enjoy the journey.

Second Chance Ranch: Clean & Wholesome Cowboy Romance (Triple J Ranch Book 1)

What an interesting and engaging book! Is it possible to mend a breakup that happened 10 years ago when she doesn't even know why he broke up with her? Can she ever for
give him? Not unless God shows how forgiveness really works ... Through His word, The Bible! .Such a great romantic, yet stirring story! Enjoy!

This was a story of forgiveness. The why was not clear till the very end and still not completely answered. There was a heavy Christian based story line. It reads more of a what to do when someone dumps you than a romance story of second chances. I like to read stories that don't have to have the steamy parts added just to get the book sold. I just felt that this one was more or less a work book of forgiveness.

Stunning portrayal of learning to give it to GOD

I can't imagine how hard it would be to forgive someone who broke my heart, but this sweet romance showed me the deeper the love the harder it is to forgive. Mistakes happen. Giving your problems to GOD can bring a relief, no matter how big or small and I love how it was handled here. Well worth your time to read

So cute!

I loved how Elizabeth had a strong faith in God and a mission to help those less fortunate. It's a good book for preteen readers. It felt almost like I was right there with the well written characters, living out the drama of a past relationship and such a cute reconciliation. I'll definitely be reading more books by Jenna Hendricks!

Lost Love

Logan and Lizzie sounds great for a couple. They were the main characters in this book but had their issues they needed to deal with. I enjoyed the shortcut felt there was about of repetitive parts to the point of too much. The Bible references and forgiveness were great and the story is clean. Overall it is a good book to read.

Great story

According to the author notes, she it's now writing some clean, faith-based stories and she did a great job.
The characters had to learn to trust. The reader can watch them progress from fear to trust, both in people and in God.

I enjoyed this wholesome book about a ranch that reaches out to help the homeless even though danger is afoot. The characters listen for God's voice then obey. They do not compromise. The story is engaging and the character believable. They are the kind of people I would love to know.

Very sweet and clean romance. The story has sort of two stories going. Lost love found again. Lost girl saved. There is a second chance for two characters and it is very interesting to see how they both come out. I received this book as a free gift in exchange for an honest review.
