Simone's school project is to design and build a website and she's been assigned to work with horrid Anthony Bent. But Anthony is in hospital recovering from a burst appendix so Simone has to communicate with him via e-mail. As well as their discussions about the website, we also hear all about Simone's mum's pregnancy, and Simone's fears that the new baby will take her place in her mother's affections.

It was nostalgic to read this (and the other two books), as I was tasked with reading them when I was preparing to transition between primary to secondary school at around age 10-11. I remember it did seem helpful and insightful at the time.
It is an interesting way to tell a narrative (through a diary or written communication between the main character and someone else). This one was a bit weaker than the others, but I think that's bias from when I was originally reading this as it seemed much less helpful with regards to life in secondary school, it was more focused on her own personal life and circumstances and not much could be extracted as knowledge that can be transferred into what I could expect when starting secondary school myself. Either way, it's a cute series, and I am glad I took the time to revisit it briefly 20 years later!
I absolutely loved this book as all the books in the series. It has good character development between characters and we get to see what has happened since previous books too characters we were previously in the dark about. Their is also a positive portrayal of people with learning difficulty is shown in ne of the supporting characters.
