El papel del Director de juego es muy importante. Él es el arquitecto, el encargado de construir las campañas y los distintos escenarios. Es un trabajo duro y exigente pero que cuenta también con muchísimas herramientas y ayudas. Esta guía es una ayuda completa para construir tus propias aventuras, monstruos y cómo dirigir partidas divertidas y dinámicas.
Este libro tiene cinco capítulos. Aunque sigue las reglas básicas, aquí se amplían algunas de estas y se añaden otras nuevas. En el capítulo uno tenemos las bases de la dirección el juego. Este capítulo te explica mejor cómo poder dirigir una partida con los diferentes modos de juego, cómo aplicar las reglas o qué hacer cuando haya algún problema especial. Además contiene consejos generales sobre cómo llevar el ritmo de las sesiones, las consecuencias, cómo hacer bien los PNJs. Al mismo tiempo se explican cómo dirigir los encuentros, la exploración, el tiempo libre, la rareza en tus partidas, la estructura de la campaña, cómo diseñar aventuras y sus hilos argumentales o cómo dibujar mapas.
El capítulo 2 proporciona muchísimas herramientas, ampliando las reglas básicas. Aquí aprenderemos a crear nuestras propias criaturas, con nociones de estadísticas, o cómo diseñas PNJs, construir peligros u objetos y todas sus variedades (con muchos objetos ya creados), cómo construir mundos, naciones o asentamientos, etc. Es decir, todo el lore o trasfondo de nuestras campañas.
El siguiente capítulo se centra en los subsistemas: puntos de victoria, influencia, investigación, cómo hacer duelos, los vehículos, etc. Es un capítulo muy corto. El 4 trata sobre las variantes de las reglas con nuevos bagajes y dotes. El último capítulo es una galería de PNJs done encontramos un extenso catálogo. Este es un capítulo fundamental y tremendamente necesario.
Este libro ayuda muchísimo a los directores de juego para crear unas partidas muy bien cimentadas, completas y bien hechas. Además le da mucho dinamismo a las sesiones, vitalidad y emoción. Al mismo tiempo, fomenta mucho más la imaginación y la creación de partidas únicas y totalmente personalizadas gracias a las múltiples herramientas y consejos que nos proporciona este libro. Es un total indispensable para poder jugar una partida de Pathfinder.

You see supplements like this and you all yourself why you should pay for yet another non-essential book just to run a home game every other month.
Well you don't have to. But the book is worth it. The NPC-gallery alone saves you a ton of prep-time with exciting features beyond the original choices from the core rulebook.
I haven't implemented the subsystems yet but will be doing so very soon. They're a great possibility for those of us who want social encounters and interaction with the world to be a more essential part of the game. Cause your players will remember times they had to roll dice with more emphasis, looking up and down their character sheets and trying to come up with a clever or epic or foolish solution....
We've been running a game with one dual class PC and so far it hasn't broken the game. It's a small group, though. So I can't tell if it'll feel different in a group of 4 or more.

Definitely adding some welcome additional complexity. The deep background system, and variant rules for skillpoints are interesting for those of us who played 3.5 and P1E victory point systems, and many additional tools for the budding and practiced GM. The 30 pages of ready made humanoid NPCs at the end is just icing on top

A very useful tool for GM’s wanting to use alternate and variant rule subsystems. Especially useful for GMs wanting to make their own campaigns as it has detailed monster and hazard creation rules. It also contains an excellent collection of various generic NPCs for quick use at the end of the book. Absolutely worth it for most GMs be they novice or experienced.

All I have to say about this one is that it includes an encounter rating system that works every time. Worth buying just for that.
