A delicious new single dad standalone romance from New York Times bestseller Kendall Ryan!
Lexington Dane was my brother’s best friend growing up.
We did everything together.
He taught me how to throw a punch, how to change a tire…and he taught me how to kiss. I fell hard and fast, and gave him all my firsts.
I promised I’d wait for him…
But I’m done waiting, because he went off to college and never came back. He took his fancy business degree and moved to New York City, where he promptly became a real estate mogul—turning every penthouse and apartment project he touched into gold.
It’s been ten years, and now he’s back and needs a favor…someone to watch his little girl. That’s right, the cocky penthouse prince and heartbreaker extraordinaire Lexington is back with an adorable two-year-old daughter. Guess who he wants to watch her?
I’ve never been able to say no to him. I might agree to be the nanny for his precious little angel, but there’s no way in hell I’m falling for her hot-as-sin daddy.
Kendall Ryan is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of flirty, feel-good romance filled with heart, heat, and plenty of banter. An American author who has lived all over the world, her books have sold millions of copies and been translated into multiple languages. She writes swoony heroes, bold heroines, and stories that make you laugh, blush, and fall in love. When she’s not dreaming up new plotlines, she is a proud mom to two amazing sons and the wife of her real-life hero.
This trope is beyond sexist and pathetic. The guy breaks the girls heart and completely moves on. He is successful while the poor broken hearted woman sits at home in their small town lining away for him. His respect for her is so low that now he expects her to be his hired help and care for his child with another woman. How does this sound appealing to anyone with self respect? So he got to go out and be the rich playboy bachelor “sowing his wild oats” and now that he was forced to settle down with a kid, now he is willing to be with the heroine. What a win. She’s cheaper than a real staff I guess. He found his daughter a mom. The heroine never gets to feel real love an devotion from him. She will always be the person he settled for because she was convenient. I really worry about the mental heath of some of these authors. So many books about the men dumping the heroine, screwing around, treating her like crap, and the her crawling back like a puppy begging for a bone. It can’t be a coincidence. I just wish I could tell them all. Let him go. He doesn’t want you. You can do better! No part of this sounds appealing. What a douche. The author might want to change the blurb for him to sound a little less like a self involved ass and her a little less like a masochist who is so pathetic that she has nothing better to do with her time than come running after a guy who threw her away and moved on without a problem, only coming back to have take care of his is with another woman. You know, or just scrap the whole thing and write a book with decent characters?
I love a good brother’s best friend story and add in the second chance romance and single dad with the cutest daughter- I was so ready for this one!
Lexington Dane and Corrigan Stewart dated in secret when they were in high school Corrigan was in love and devastated when Lex left her to live a big life in NYC. Now, a decade later, Lexington is back in town and needs a nanny for his toddler. His best friend recommends his sister, Corrigan, since she’s a teacher and off for the summer.
Corrigan and Lexington definitely have some old feelings stir up the more time they spend together. You can tell they’ve had a connection. I love the relationship they both have with Lex’s daughter and even though it took them a while to make it back to one another, it was worth the wait.
I listened to the audiobook of Penthouse Prince and it was narrated by Joe Arden and Erin Mallon. Erin Mallon is my absolute favorite narrator ever and Joe Arden always does a great job, so of course I recommend listening to this one. The audio quality is fantastic and the narration is top notch!
If you’re looking for a sweet second chance romance with a single dad and a brother’s best friends story, check out Penthouse Prince. It was a super cute and fun read!
I am surprise that I like this book more than I expected. I am not a huge fan of Miss Ryan. Her NA romance has a lot of misses with me. Penthouse Prince is a nice surprise.
The story is short so there is not much character development or drama on the story. The story of single dad mixed with second chance romance got my attention. I wish I can have more groveling from Lexington. But like I said, short story.
Penthouse Prince is a full length standalone second chance romance novel by Kendall Ryan. In this we meet single dad Lexington Dane and school teacher Corrigan Stewart.
Corrigan secretly dated her brother's best friend Lex when they were in high school. Things between them were great. They were young, happy and in love. But that all changed when he left her and moved to New York. She gave him her heart and he completely crushed it. Now, ten years later, he's back in North Carolina along with his two year old daughter to tend to his mother who's terminally ill. But it looks like he's going to need some help.
Between taking care of his sick mom, his daughter Grier and his business back home in New York, Lex has a pretty full plate. It's time to hire a nanny and his best friend Dak knows just the girl for the job, his sister. She's trustworthy, a school teacher and has the summer off. Who could be more perfect than that? But first, he has some major apologizing to do, and if he's lucky, he'll be able to win back her heart because he has no plan of letting her go again.
Penthouse Prince is a sexy, sweet and lighthearted read. It's full of the fire and feels that I absolutely love in a romance book. With a swoon worthy hero and a sweet heroine, it was packed with heartfelt emotion and a super hot romance. If this sounds like it's right up your alley, then please be sure not to pass this one up. Five stars for Lex, Corrigan and Penthouse Prince!
-Could I be lucky enough to have that kind of love twice in a lifetime?
Lexington Dane is a wealthy, handsome, workaholic who loves his job as a real estate mogul in New York. He's one of the city's most eligible bachelors, and also a single father to a two year old daughter who is his whole world. Between running a business and being a dad, he stays pretty busy and doesn't have time for much of a social life. Circumstances suddenly have him leaving his big city penthouse and returning home to North Carolina where he finds himself needing help with his little girl. The only person he trusts to look after her is his childhood best friends little sister.
Corrigan Stewart is a teacher in Wilmington who is looking forward to her summer break. Then her high school boyfriend returns to town and needs a huge favor. He was her first love, and they were once inseparable. Then he disappeared from her life when he left for college and broke her heart. It's been ten years since she's seen him, and he's all man now, and even more tempting than she remembered. Their connection is still just as strong, but she can't go down that road again. There's too much history between them, and if she agrees to be his toddlers nanny, she must keep her guard up, and not get attached. Easier said than done when she discovers there might still be something real between them. Will she be able to trust him again, and let him back in, or is it too late?
-Lexington Dane. Once upon a time, he was my everything.
-There's something about those eyes that a girl just can't say no to.
-The way my heart squeezes in my chest with one look at him hasn't changed a bit.
Penthouse Prince by Kendall Ryan is a fabulous single dad, brother's best friend standalone romance about first loves and second chances. I really enjoyed this couple and their chemistry. I love a sexy single dad romance with all the feels!
1st time he thinks of her is when her brother mentions her a possible babysitter for his daughter
1st thing he feels about their past is: “crushing guilt of that day still weighs heavy on me”
1st thing she’s good for: “I have absolutely no doubt I’d be able to trust her to take care of Grier (his child), and it would certainly save a lot of time and effort in vetting nannies. At least for the summer.”
And
“And yeah, maybe there’s a part of me that wants to see her again. I want to know how things turned out for her, what she thinks of me, whether we can be friends again. Because I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think of her often, and truth be told, I’ve missed her.”
All of the above in the same scene in which he’s 1st reminded of her existence.
I choose to read a sweet story for the romance THIS is not my idea of romance I’m not even asking for his intense, heavily loaded feelings of love and longing Sweet thoughts of their past and endearing ones since he left would be good enough for my romantic heart Alas, I expect too much because his other little musings thrown in between about her are inconsequential and anecdotal

“…there’s no way in hell I’m falling for her hot-as-sin daddy…” >> famous last words people! LOL
You guys, there is nothing better than reading a single parent romance journey where the child steals the show right from under them! OH MY HEART! I’m sucker for kids people! HUGE sucker and Grier stole the whole darn thing! This story could have easily been a conflict heavy storyline, but Kendall chose differently, and I am so glad for it! Lexington and Corrigan’s past never felt like a roadblock in this story. That was refreshing. It allowed the story to unfold naturally and realistically. I mean yes, the past was problematic, and it was dealt with, but the story wasn’t bogged down with it. Glorious I tell ya!
There is absolutely nothing not to love about this slow-burn, easy like Sunday morning, sweet and swoony romance novel. One of my favorites so far by Kendall!
This second chance romance has the cutest little girl and a sexy single daddy. Both will steal your heart. They were the perfect combination to win back his first love.
Ten years ago, the guy Corrigan fell in love with dumped her and walked away. She was still in high school and he was headed for college. She gave her heart away and he crushed it. Even after a decade, it still hurts.
Lex is back in town. When he left for college, he never came back home after. He headed to NYC and became the real estate mogul he is today. But he never planned on Grier. She’s his everything now. The little girl stole his heart the moment she came into the world.
Raising her alone has not been easy. When he gets a call that his mom is sick, he packs up their lives and moves them back home. Now he needs help to get his life back on track. He’s ready to hire a nanny. When an old friend suggests Corrigan, he knows that she’ll be perfect.
Now that he’s seen her again, he’s not letting her go this time. She won’t make it easy, so he’s going to do what he can to win her back.
This second chance romance was sweet and sexy. Little Grier is sassy and adorable. You cannot help but love her. Corrigan is smart, beautiful and easily wins over Grier. And your ovaries will explode once you witness the relationship Lex has with his daughter. His wooing is on point too as he works his charm on Corrigan. Lex doesn’t need much persuasion to realize what he let go, because he’s been regretting it ever since. The sexual tension is thick and the connection they share is strong. They may have lost their way, but he was meant to be her first love and hopefully he’ll be her last.
This was an easy afternoon read with low key drama. I enjoyed all the characters and their journey to finding their HEA. It’s told in dual POV and at it’s heart is about young love that just needed time to grow into what it was meant to be.
Gosh! If a man dumped me and never looked for me for 10 years and then came back asking me to be the nanny of the child he has with another woman, I would ask him nicely to go screw himself. And oh, why the heroines can’t resist a handsome man? Is that hard? It excludes all the bad things he has done? Stories like that aren’t romantic or sweet.
Whose fantasy is it to be left behind while the guy lives his best life and has a kid with somebody else and the comes back to hire you as a nanny? This is such a tired trope. Never do we see the women left behind become rich and successful. Why is that?
Penthouse Prince follows the story of Lex and Corrigan. Growing up, Lex was best friends with Corrigan’s brother. That friendship made the three of them inseparable. Lex was everything to Corrigan and one day their friendship blossomed into more. Everything was going fine, until one action changed everything. Lex went off to college and never looked back. It will be 10 years before Corrigan and Lex will be reunited. Lex has moved back home, but he needs a pretty big favor. You see, Lex didn’t come home by himself. He’s got a sweet little girl with her, that needs a nanny. Her mind wants to say no, but her heart has other plans in mind. Will Lex and Corrigan be able to move past their history? Will Lex get a second chance with the one who got away?? There’s only one way to find out…..
Penthouse Prince is a fun and refreshing second chance romance. I fell in love with Lex immediately. He was a hardworking dad, who would do anything for his little girl, Grier. He didn’t always make the best choices, but his heart was in the right place and he would do anything to right a wrong. And Corrigan was just the right person for Lex and little Grier. Corrigan guarded her heart and didn’t make things super easy for Lex. But, in the end, these two had a chemistry that was impossible to ignore and a love that was worth fighting for.
Penthouse Prince is a sweet second chance romance. The characters pull you into their story from the very first page. Lex and Corrigan’s story is one of young love and making tough decisions, even if they break your own heart. It is a story of fate and goodness in unexpected circumstances. It’s a story filled with some serious moments, but for the most part, is drama free. In the end, it’s a story that just makes you feel good and will leave you with a smile on your face.
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
Single dad, second chance romance. Short, sweet with much push & pull but very predictable. Im very tired of reading about the guy who dump the girl and goes on to live his life, have a child & return and tries to pick up where he left off & of course it works out because the female has been pining for him for years 🙄🙄
Lexington (Lex) and Corrigan had a secret relationship in high school. He is older and when it came time to go off to college, he broke her heart.
Now he's back because his mother has terminal cancer...but he's not alone, he has a two year old daughter, Grier, and he needs childcare for her. Corrigan's brother and Lex's best friend, Dax, suggest hiring Corrigan. And this is where things get awkward.
Lex really has no idea the damage he has done. He thinks that by apologizing and saying he was young and dumb is enough. Thank goodness, Corrigan holds out for more.
She ends up taking the job and naturally, that throws the two on them together all the time.
She goes out on dates and that drives Lex mad (hee hee).
I did like these two together. Do I think Corrigan caved too soon and way too easily? Yes, but that has a lot to do with my need to squeeze out all the angst in a story. 😉
I do feel that the title of the book could have been better. Lex was the Penthouse Prince when he was in NYC but not now.
Also, as far as the epilogue goes, it was wonderful and sweet but there is an issue regarding his mom that really bothered me.
Are you a sucker for a single dad, bestfriends sister, second chance romance with an adorable 2 year old that will melt your heart? If you answered yes then you absolutely need to read this book!
Lexington Dane is everything you could want.....successful, wealthy, hot as hell and an amazing father to Grier. Corrigan is a beautiful, sassy, loving woman with a heart of gold and Lexington's ex. Lexington and Corrigan were high school sweethearts but when he left her behind it tore Corrigan apart and had Lexington regretting his decision for years.
What happens when you receive a call your mother's health is failing? You move back to your hometown and the one place where you left your heart 10 years ago. Lexington, Grier and Corrigan's story will have you smiling, laughing and swooning while not wanting to put this book down once! This is one story that will melt your heart with the beautiful relationship between Lexington and Grier, as well as, Grier and Corrigan. I dare you to read this book without falling in love!
Meep. Despite finishing this in just a few hours, this book was a major letdown for me. It has all of the right ingredients for a fluffy beach read, but it just fell really really really short for me.
Who doesn’t love a swoony single dad romance story?? But add the second chance and brother’s best friend element and know that it is written by Kendall Ryan, then you know you are getting written gold!!!
Penthouse Prince was an amazing story!!! This book reminded me why I love Kendall Ryan books so much. I love her series a lot but her standalone novels are the best to me. I don’t know what it is, but when Kendall gives us a standalone novel they just suck me in. To me they are some of her best writing.
I loved that she had so many different tropes in this story, because I believe this book will appeal to all romance readers. There is something for everyone in this book.
Penthouse Prince is Kendall Ryan’s latest standalone novel. It is told in Dual POV. I loved the flow and pace of the story. Many will say this is a slow burn, especially for one of Kendall’s books) but I don’t think Lexington and Corrigan’s story could’ve been told any differently. They have a complicated history and some things to work out before going forward with anything new.
In this story we follow Corrigan and Lexington’s journey. Corrigan is the sister of Lexington’s best friend. In high school they took things past a friendship until he left for college and never looked back. Now 10 years later Lexington is called back to his hometown because his mother is seriously ill. So he and his 2 year old daughter Grier, pack things up and move to Wilmington, NC. Corrigan isn’t thrilled to learn he is back in town and even less thrilled when he calls her out of the blue for a favor. Can Corrigan forgive Lexington for leaving without a trace?? Will she trust him again to open her heart to him and Grier?? Find out in this wonderful second chance romance.
If you love Kendall Ryan’s books then you NEED to read this book. I think this is one of my all time favorites of hers. Add this to your TBR list NOW and don’t forget to 1-click it once it releases.
Lexington (H) takes off for college after being in a secret relationship with Corrigan (h). He leaves after taking her virginity and doesn't have any contact with the h. He's gone for years, lives his life, makes his millions to return home (cause his momma is sick) with a kid in tow. He needs a nanny/babysitter and his best friend aka h's brother suggests the h. The brother who knows nothing of the past between the H/h kindly states his sister, who is a teacher that could use the money, would be perfect for the job. Lex (H) is pauses for a split second but thinks why not, he could trust her with his kid. He is then reminded of their time together and of course, she was the only girl he ever came close to loving (except for the 10 or so years he has been gone but anyways). He eventually wants to try again. She is hesitant for a hot minute but then succumbs to her hormones and his charming, good looks. Blah, blah, _____, _____, ______!
You can fill in the blanks!

Penthouse Prince is an adorably heartfelt, second-chance romance that features the sweet, dependable Corrigan and the handsome, successful, single-father Lex as they navigate a relationship that includes a high school romance that ended badly, undeniable attraction, smouldering tension, and a precocious, cute-as-a-button toddler.
The writing is effortless and fluid. The characters are hesitant, generous, and endearing. And the plot is the perfect combination of family, friendship, heartbreak, parenthood, tender moments, witty dialogue, and swoon-worthy romance.
Overall, Penthouse Prince is another emotional, playful, charming read by Ryan that has without a doubt become one of my new all-time favourites.
Thank you to Kendall Ryan for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I truly loved every page of this book. There is nothing sexier to me then seeing a father love their child. So reading a book about a single Dad is even sexier. Lexington Dane is so many things. And let me tell you it was very easy to fall in love with him. Putting aside his wealth, I loved the fact that he uprooted his life for his family. That is beyond amazing. He had a huge life that he built in New York. But something very important made him go back home, I loved all the feels with this
Well I devoured Penthouse Prince! Heartwarming and sweet! Kendall Ryan just knows how to touch your heart! I giggled and swooned! There’s nothing better than the warmth and innocence of a sweet child! Such a touching story!
Penthouse Prince by Kendall Ryan is a sweet and charming second chance romance. Corrigan once loved Lexington with her whole heart. Then he left and broke her heart, though forgetting him proved to be difficult. Ten years later, he is back with an adorable daughter. She is determined to keep him at arm’s length because she can never trust him again, right? But when he needs help, she is the one person he can trust.
Corrigan is sweet and caring but wants to protect her heart. Lex knows he hurt her, but also knows no one ever came close to winning his heart. Can he show her he has changed and wants a future with her? Definitely worth the read to find out! Great characters and delightful read!
Lexington Dane is one hot daddy who is determined to right a wrong!! Lana~White Hot Reads
Lexington comes back to his hometown to take care of his sick mother. After a decade apart, these two have unanswered questions and feelings which need to be resolved. Can Corrigan forgive Lex and can Lex make her understand? You'll have to read to find out. This was a super fast read.
I received an ARC of Penthouse Prince by Kendall Rayan. It’s a romance book about a second chance romance. It also incorporates the best friends sister and office romance tropes. It was an amazing story. You can’t help by immediately fall in love with Lex, the single dad who moves back to North Carolina to be closer to his sick mother. Back home he hires his high school girlfriend to be his Nanny for his adorable two year old daughter and instantly they scream happy family, even though they are strictly employee, employer you just knew they would end up together in the end!
The thing I love the most about Kendall Ryan’s books is they are quick, light reads. I finished this book in a day that’s how good the book was. Before I knew it I was halfway through the book and didn’t want it to end. Kendall has a talent of writing books that are serious but also light and fun that keep you coming back for more. This has to be her best book since All I want and I’m left with wanting more of Lex, Corrigan and Grier.
