Lilac lives on a Welsh hillside with her very patient husband and incredibly sweet dog, where she grows veggies (if the slugs don't get them), bakes (badly) and loves making things out of glitter and glue (a mess, usually).

She's been an avid reader ever since she got her hands on a copy of Noddy Goes to Toytown when she was five, and she once tried to read everything in her local library starting with A and working her way through the alphabet.

She loves long, hot summer days in the garden, and cold winter ones snuggled in front of the fire, but whatever the weather she's usually writing, or thinking about writing, with heartwarming romance and happy-ever-afters always on her mind.

Little book of happiness that’s what this is, feeling down when I started this, it was the perfect remedy and it’s such a lovely read. An addictive read from the very first page, I really didn’t want to put this down. An enjoyable read, full of adorable characters that you really root for, a lovely romance without too much trauma, happiness in book form.

This book is really easy to read and well written. I got absorbed in the story straight away and not once was I jerked out of the plot by an odd bit of language, spelling or grammar.

I very much enjoyed the gentle romance of the story, and the florist competition was a fun subplot. Really the whole book was just enjoyable, exactly what I was looking for.

The one thing I didn’t like was when Leanne broke up with Rex when he’d just said he more than liked her. It seemed to make no sense to me, but I suppose people are irrational where emotions are involved.

I’d definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, gentle romance, without too much drama.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book has a super cute cover and the first in the series wasn’t BAD so I gave this one a go, could have done without to be honest!

I love a cheesy, soppy or spicy romance book - I don’t care if it’s predictable as long as the writing and story is good. This however was not only predictable but boring 😴 For such a short book it took me well over a month as I kept putting it down, couldn’t pick it back up, picked it up and wanted to stop reading after about 2 pages again.

Leanne really annoyed and bored me in the first book so I was devastated to see this book was all about her, again she just bored me and made big issues out of little things.

I enjoyed Rex as a character and the flower competition even if we only got little details and the rounds went rather quickly.

I think it would have been better if the book was focussed on a different main character perhaps by introducing a new one. Definitely has NOTHING on Holly Martin books which are fab 👌👌

I was enjoying this book and planned to give it 3 stars. Then the whole side plot with Jules happened and I found it all a bit ridiculous and completely unnecessary to the story line.
I also found Leanne to be a bit immature for a main character. And, naming your flower shop owner character Leanne GREEN? Come on! Totally unoriginal.

Enjoyed the book. Loved Leannne. I would have loved to read more about the show and the tasks for each round. I don't think I even remember any of the people (judges or contestants) from Budding Stars beside Jarred. I thought the book would be more about Leanne completing on the reality show. Stevie, Tia, Cassandra and Betty all make appearances. Betty is still up to her matchmaking practices. Betty tells it like she sees it. Leanne and Rex definitely needed help. Although, half (OK all) their problems were due to lack of communication. they never talked to each other. Rex could have told Leanne what was happening in his life, then she wouldn't have jumped to the wrong conclusions. Dean and Jules didn't come as much as a shock. Why didn't Jules tell Rex right away? Loved all the flower descriptions and the adorable Nell.

Definitely recommend the book and the previous one. The Tanglewood Village Series are a fun read. I love the characters, story and writing style. I feel like Leanne and Stevie would be the perfect friends to have. Hopefully there is another book in the series. I want to read about the weddings and catch up with all the couples. I love the cover of the book!!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Canelo through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Tanglewood Flower Shop by Lilac Mills
Book #2: Tanglewood Village Series
Source: Purchase
Rating: 3½/5 stars

Leanne’s life isn’t complicated or overwhelming, but it isn’t the most exciting life either. In the small village of Tanglewood, there is only so much mischief a girl can get up to. For Leanne, most of her mischief is in the form of nights out with her girlfriends and the very occasional date. Most of Leanne’s life is spent in two places, her successful flower shop or her home which doubles as her family’s farm.

While Leanne certainly loves her family and her friends, even she has to admit, her life is getting the tiniest bit boring. Her girlfriends are beginning to pair off and look towards their respective weddings and her flower shop practically runs itself. Leanne is bored and looking for a new adventure. As the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for!

On a whim, Leanne applies for a new reality TV competition revolving flowers and flower design. Though she doesn’t think she’ll get far, it is a challenge and that is exactly what she’s looking for. Coinciding with the reality show is Leanne’s introduction to the hot new park ranger, Rex. Leanne is definitely interested in Rex, but she doesn’t seem to get the same vibe from him. What she gets is good conversation, great ideas for her competition projects, and some quality time in the great outdoors. Though she would like more than just friendship with Rex, it doesn’t seem to be in the cards.

Rex is new to Tanglewood and though he came here to escape an awful recent past, the past doesn’t seem to want to leave him alone. Just as Rex is getting settled, learning the lay of his new land, and finding friendship among some of the locals, his past comes screaming back in the most horrific way imaginable. To make matters worse, the past comes a calling just as Rex was beginning to truly enjoy his time with Leanne and see a possible future with her. In an effort to be fair to Leanne, Rex does what he thinks is best; unfortunately, Rex’s best comes at a very high price.

The Bottom Line: This sophomore effort from Lilac Mills wasn’t quite as good for me as book one was. I absolutely loved Rex and his story – WOW is that a big tragedy with all the feels – but I didn’t love Leanne and her story. I feel like the whole reality TV competition and the possible fancy, new job was more of a bunny trail than an integral part of the story. I often found myself skimming these sections so I could get back to Rex, his story, and the story as it unfolded in Tanglewood. I appreciated the attendance of many of the characters (BETTY!) from the first story and how they reinforced the sense of small-town life and community. While I didn’t love this book in the same way I did the first book, I think this may just be a blip rather than an indicator of future of the series. One thing’s for sure, I’m hoping it’s a blip because I kind of adore Tanglewood 😊

It was lovely to be back in Tanglewood with a completely new standalone story.

I have no idea if the Budding Stars competition is based on any real TV floristry competition but if it isn't i would have to see it made into a programme, as it sounds so creative compared with some of the other various TV talent shows out there!

And of course I was willing Leanne on the whole time, and she comes up with some incredibly inventive ideas for her arrangements.

But it is the interactions with Rex that I loved the most even if I did wish they would learn to communicate better. Rex is wonderful even if he does have a rather dog like sounding name. Thankfully he is a dog lover and seeing him bond with his new puppy Nell is delightful.

Of course Leanne would have liked to have kept Nell for herself as she was born in a litter at her family's farm and she also loved that puppy, but it gave her an instant connection with Rex. I liked learning about Rex's job and his mountain rescue training too. There is just something about that man that I fell for, and really felt sorry for him when a shocking blast from his past re-entered his life.

For a good amount of the book I really was wondering whether or not this would be the most shocking rom com ever with regards the ending. I really couldn't work out how it would come together for the ending I craved... but if you want to read an enjoyable story and find out for yourself then its definitely worth a read.

In the meantime I'm opening up The Tanglewood Wedding Shop and going to curl up with the next book in the series, as just for once waiting to read the next book in a series seems like a silly idea, while I'm enjoying this series so much.

Thank you to Canelo and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

The Tanglewood Flower Shop really surprised me! I was not that blown away by The Tanglewood Tea Shop, but Lilac Mills really upped her game.

The writing style is simple, the drama is definitely there and the main characters were just fine. Rex is the greenest flag ever, lets himself get f-ed over just slightly too often though. Leanne is not much different from your regular FMC, she's just really ambitious about her flower shop. However, I felt like Leanne was really anxious and throughout the book she was just really stressed the entire time.

The story has a miscommunication between the MC's in there, which keeps going for quite a while. I didn't find it too annoying, since there were multiple different things happening at the same time. If you can't stand that, though, this book might not be for you.
I have to say, just like The Tanglewood Tea Shop, this is the perfect YA read. Romance but no spice, actual gripping plots and a cute storyline. I would especially recommend this one, since the books in this series can also be read as standalones.

4/5
Genre: Sweet Rom Com/ Closed door
🚨TW: jealous contestant, loss of his pet
🚨CW: mild language, hot kisses

Leanne, Stevie's friend was happily running her flower shop. She loves to make people feel happy and comforted with her flower arrangements. One day, she saw and ad which is a flower arrangement competition and decided to enter. Her family supported her but they are worried for her because she will go to London and who will run her flower shop. So she decided to hire someone to help look after her shop when she is not around.

She met Rex when he was finding a dog for a companion to follow him around when he was volunteering as a mountain rescuer and also his job at the National Park. The little dog, Nell is so cute and clingy. hehe.... And both Leanne and Rex got to know each other and slowly their feelings grow. And he helped her to come out with ideas and she was really thankful and she was really surprised that she even open up to him so much like they had been friends for a long time.

And comes in Betty being a matchmaker again. Haha... love this sweet lady. She make them realised that they need to tell their feelings to each other. But I seriously feel sad for Rex because out of the sudden when they are happily in love then comes his nightmare when his ex told him the news.(can't spoil it read then you will know).

P.S I would love to know what are the meanings of the flowers. It will be fun and it really makes me want to learn flower arrangement.

You can purchase this on Amazon or Kobo and it is available in Kobo Plus.

I really enjoyed book 1 in the series so I was keen to return to the village of Tanglewwod in the Welsh valleys. This is a story that could be read as a standalone but characters from book 1 do crop up so you can learn of their progression.
This is Leanne's story, the owner of the local flower shop. Leanne is feeling a little out of sorts and is pondering her future so when she spots an ad for a new tv talent show for floristry she feels that this is just the inspiration she needs.
A newcomer to the village, Rex, is proving popular with locals especially the children as he tries to encourage them to go outside and see what the national parkland offers. Leanne and Rex build up a friendship but it all soon turns complicated as the past catches up with Rex.
Leanne's heart and mind becomes confused with all the extra thoughts whirling around.
The author made you feel right at home once again in this small community village. I also enjoyed the drama of the tv show. A gorgeous story of family, friendship, new hopes and new beginnings.

I received a digital arc of this from netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I had previously read The Tanglewood Tea Shop and loved it so I was excited to read this. I read the majority of it on a long journey to Cornwall. As with the first in this series, I loved it! The story does follow on from the first but you could easily read it without having read that one first - enough detail is given here that you wouldn't be missing out. Lilac Mills has a way of writing so you fall in love with the characters - and this happened again with this book. Great characters. Great story. I did want to knock Rex and Leanne's heads together but was happy to see this had a happy ending. Highly recommend.

A delightful easy read which I really enjoyed. It is the second book in the series but could easily be read as a standalone novel - although I do recommend the first book Tanglewood Tea Shop too.

I liked both of the lead characters and enjoyed how their relationship progressed throughout the book. The community setting was lovely. I enjoyed the twists and turns throughout the story.

I recommend this light hearted cosy book - a perfect holiday read or for a cosy afternoon on the sofa.

Second book in this heartwarming series that always cracks me up. Funny and feeling, with a timely background on environmental issues, and very well written!

In The Tanglewood Tea Shop there is a cat, in this book it is Nell, a sheepdog, that causes havoc, and if you enjoyed those two books, you are in for a treat with the third book (Wedding Shop) in which Mary the rabbit stole my heart and made me smile. Therefore, all three are on my for-a-rainy-day shelf on Goodreads.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of the book.

This was an easy enough read but it didn’t particularly impress me.

It was the first book I’ve read in this series which probably didn’t do me any favours as I now realise it’s the second one…

I found the story to be a little frustrating in times due to the lack of communication between the two main characters, and the split narration, in my opinion, really did this to death.

I didn’t like how the book ended pretty abruptly but as I wasn’t entirely invested I’m glad it didn’t go on for too much longer either 🤷🏽‍♀️

When Tanglewood shop owner Leanne enters Budding Stars - a floristry competition - She’s amazed to make it through to the televised stages. As the pressure grows, park ranger Rex proves a rose among the thorns as he offers much - needed friendship
and support .

Another feel good tale from Tanglewood

When I saw that the second in the series was about a flower shop I simply could not resist. I was not disappointed either the characters were as warm as they were in Book 1. I loved the idea of the Budding Stars flower arranging competition too. The ideas Leanne & Rex came up with were fab. Loved the puppy also. Off to read about the Wedding Shop now. Happy Reading

Another heart warming book in this series. I liked how the stories were both separate and intertwined and references to the previous story in the series. Similarly to the first, some parts were the standard predictable romance but it was a feel good read, and there were parts I thought were going in one way but they actually took a different turn which I really enjoyed. Can’t wait to read the last book in the series too.

If only this novel had an epilogue! I was really hoping for one when I got to the last page. Unfortunately, I was left thinking that there was more that could've been done to complete Leanne's character arc. I have my doubts about her and felt that she was the one who should've resolved the major relationship issue, not Rex. Rex was 100% amazing!

Well, on to #3 in the series.

Book 2 is just as sweet as book 1. It is always lovely to read a sequel and catch up on the characters you really fell for before and the introductions of new characters are so well done. Nell is 100% the best and cutest wee thing. I cant wait to see how she is growing in book 3! Leanne was a really relatable character and it was all so well written.

Thoroughly enjoyable read! The second in the trilogy does not disappoint- as we knew Leanne from the first book, it is lovely to have her story.
You could read without having read The Teashop but I recommend following the series.
Beautifully written, the characters come to life and draw you in for a rollercoaster of emotions.

The Tanglewood Flower Shop....AND what a tangle it is!

This novel had something to appeal to most readers beyond a confusing romance. How about finding a dog a home, ecology, paternity problems, small town gossip, and a reality tv floral competition? Hard to put down and enjoyable.
