Stella Gray has always had her head in the clouds and has been writing since she was in high school. A contemporary romance author, she loves dark romances with morally gray men. When she’s not writing, she’s either in the kitchen testing out a new baking recipe or spending time in the great outdoors.
A good ending to Luca and Brooklyn chapter. I do not have this fluterring feeling about the ending. Maybe because I sense lacking of chemistry between Luca and Brooklyn since beginning.
But hey, their romance still deserves HEA closing. I do nog hate the entire book. In fact some of the tender and sweet moments made me swoon a little.
What I demand is Matteo's story. He is such a perfect BFF.
'The Ruin' is the third book of the ' Convenience trilogy' by Stella Gray. Told in dual Perspectives , get ready to meet Luca and Brooklyn again!
Ahh ! So the finale is finally here! I was all over this book , the moment it landed on my kindle. The conclusion was good and I am satisfied with the ending.
The one thing that I really liked was the mutual growth of the characters in this book. In the previous books it seemed like they both were against each other , but seeing them finally together gave me a sense of peace. The story was good however there were a few scenes in which I felt a bit disconnected with the story. But the overall plot was good.
A definite recommendation to all the Dark Romance lovers! The twists and turns will definitely make you love this trilogy!
I enjoyed this last installment of the trilogy. Luca and Brooklyn grew on me, at first I found Brooklyn to be very self serving. I always root for the guy in these stories and Luca was simply broken at the beginning of the trilogy, I loved watching him transition into the perfect bookboyfriend❤
I do have to say none of the twists in this story are surprising and you can see the trouble coming from a mile away. 😉 However in spite of that I still enjoyed the story and didn't subtract any stars because knowing what was going to happen didn't impact my enjoyment of the ride. This is NOT a depraved, dark, and twisted story - so a #mindfuck isn't necessary.
I did find the repetitive sexual encounters a tad tedious, like All Luca & Brooklyn do is misunderstand each other, fail to communicate, became reactive to situations instead of talking, and have sex. However, this last book of the trilogy sold the series for me. Luca opened up more and stopped running. Luca & Brooklyn actually TALKED to each other, AMAZING!! So I guess these two are allowed their sexual marathons. 💖
I loved Mr. Kibbles 🐕 and the part where Mr. Kibbles has a very "traumatic" surgery - Luca handled this so well!!
The narration was amazing - I love this combination of performers.
I was a bit disappointed in the Convenience trilogy. I gave bks 1 and 2 the benefit of the doubt hoping that the last story would pick things of and give a real story of a scandal. The Scandal at the very end of the story is NOT A Real Scandal!! In the end when the story breaks about them marrying for image sake and that Brooklyn was asked to spy on DRM for Elite Image before she even was reacquainted with Luka is not a scandal that could destroy a company. Brooklyn never agreed to spy on DRM and she never signed the contract she burned it on her honeymoon. How does that scenario reflect badly on DRM? Then Brooklyn goes on to take the blame in front of the media and not tell them what really happened.
Monica Shore who broke the story basically gets off the hook.. I don't like it when the villain gets and easy out!! It would have been a better story if they had turned the tables on Elite Image and took there company over and Ruined Monica Shores career. Instead of this Fake scenario Scandal. There are still lots of unresolved plot line in the story. Like Stefan and Tori's baby isn't born and how did the fathers Constantine trail end?
Luka and Brooklyn do manage to get there happy ever after at the very end of the story! I know this author can write a better story. The Arranged trilogy is proof of that. The Convenience felt rushed and not well thought out.
I guess with all the loose ends left to play out Emzee Zoric will be getting a trilogy. This trilogy is Overpriced for what you get.
We were on such a roller coaster in book 2 that I think we could use a bit of a reprieve in book 3, the final installment. If that’s what you were expecting as a reader, then you don’t know Stella Gray that well, and of course we were on another turbulent ride.
The end of the last book had our hopes up soo high thinking that Brooklyn will finally get her break on a huge national / international campaign, especially since Luka seemed to be her cheerleader, but we were left freefalling off a cliff when Monica Shore’s name was called and shocker, she had a new look that was exactly that of Brooklyn.
Tensions are high since Brooklyn now feels betrayed, by her husband and by the woman who seems to want to get into Luka’s pants. It’s sad to think that everything they overcame in book 2 was now falling to the wayside. Brooklyn runs to LA to be with Mateo who’s the only person who’s able to help her pick herself up off the floor. They craft a plan dubbed Operation Sexify which is now a means to make Brooklyn less wholesome since that’s the persona that Luka and Stefan needed her to take on.
The bulk of this book is tense, they are at odds with one another, yet there’s still clear love and chemistry between them. They can’t stay away from each other but they both have such hatred about the situation that they can’t be around one another. It takes Luka being called up to testify in his father’s trial to get Brooklyn to come back to his side, and when we think that there’s hope, walls of stone and ice are up once again and it seems as though there’s really no point in even making an effort.
What we do get as a constant is that every time they do seem to like each other more than they hate each other, we get some of the kinkiest steamiest scenes ever. And those carry the story through.
True to form with this story – just when it seems like they’re on the final uptick, controversy hits – the first time it was on their honeymoon when the leak of Brooklyn’s offer from Elite came to light. This time it was Monica herself leaking the details of what was offered to Brooklyn, implying that she took the deal and lied to the family. Luckily, Luka already knew the details, but that didn’t help things when Brooklyn goes to see Luka to make sure things are ok and overhears him talking to someone supporting Monica yet again instead of his wife.
We get gender reveal for Stefan’s baby, and the growing up of Mr Kibbles. We have romance and sadness, hints of opportunity for love for Em, and yet, there’s still so much vagueness for Luka and Brooklyn. This story definitely gives them the send off that we wanted and I think that there was no way to truly expect all that was thrown their way. I read that Emzee now gets her own series coming out of this one but the release date looks like Feb 2021 so I have to be VERY patient
I got a little bored in this one. They dont actually talk about a lot of the actual issues, some of them are addressed some of them are not. I kind of expected more.
This is the real us. The imperfect us. The messy, and yet totally in love, us.
My life is in ruins. Failed marriage, failed career--I'm a failure. My husband may have had a hand in it, but I can't help missing him. We made an agreement. I signed the contract, and so did he. Without our arrangement, everything falls apart. All over this series was an amazing read, I loved the story line, the drama, the angst, the hot sex, the sexual chemistry between the characters, I just couldn't connect with the characters themselves, Brooklyn was shallow and a gold digger and would put up with anything to get what she wants, and when she doesn't get it, she has a tantrum. Lucas is an alpha as*hole that has some deep childhood issues and in this last book they finally seem to grow up.
Brooklyn and Luca come full circle in the final book of the trilogy. The ups and downs of these two kept me intrigued and the personal growth of them both during the trilogy was something that was much needed!
Monica tries to undermine the marriage and almost succeeds but Brooklyn goes public and takes the fall for her hubby. I liked the series and liked the unique characters.
The final book in the Convenience Trilogy was a roller coaster ride of drama and angst for Luca and Brooklyn some of which the two could have avoided with better communication.
It felt like Luca and Brooklyn had a deeper connection in The Ruin even in the times that they could have saved a lot by reacting better to some scenarios you could still feel how deeply their emotions for each other were. Luca and Brooklyn grew so much through this trilogy as individuals and as a couple on their way to their happily ever after.
The Ruin is the finale to Luca & Brooklyn's story, so you cannot start here, you MUST READ The Sham (Book 1) and The Contract (Book 2) FIRST AND IN ORDER! (You have been warned). Oh, and since it's the finale, I'm giving nothing away, so this review will be short & sweet because honestly?! You shouldn't waste time reading reviews when you can actually experience all this chaotic goodness filled with extreme emotion. Everything felt bigger, I mean the twists & turns definitely were bigger since everything was coming to its conclusion, so I was happily dropping f-bombs cover to cover. My rage was still ever present, and I'll never tell if I ever got over it or not. No matter what, I've never been able to put any of these books down, so yeah, Stella Gray's talent is leveled up! Anyway, that's enough of my trying to avoid details in this epic journey, it's time for y'all to just hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The Ruin is the 3rd and final book in "Convenience" trilogy by Stella Gray. This book continues Luca and Brooklyn's story. We finally get answers to the questions that have been eagerly awaiting for. The chemistry between them is still sizzling hot, the angst is still quite real, the jealously is a very real problem, and their emotions play a large role in how they handle certain situations which probably might have made things between them easier. One character I completely disliked was Monica. Trust me- you'll understand. This was a great ending to a trilogy that brought Luca and Brooklyn to life. Loved the angst, drama, passion, romance, betrayal, secrets, twists, lies, jealously, heartbreak, pain, feels, and love that this story/trilogy gives.
The last book in this series was the best one in my opinion. They did repeat the same mistakes over and over again with made me so angry and made me what to scream at times. But in this book they stared to learn more and talk things out a bit more.
These books may have made me angry but that is something to say about that. You got really invested in there relationship ,they had potential to become a real power couple. One thing that I did love was the dog it made the book more funny and lively. The end of the book was really sweet and romantic with was a really good way to end on.
Three years ago when Luka first set eyes on Brooklyn he promised her an exclusive modeling contract just to get her into bed. Now with the marriage contract he’s done the exact same thing all over again. Brooklyn has worked hard to make the marriage work, to make them work, but Luka continues to lie. Brooklyn campaign’s herself in LA to look sexy with the help of Mateo. With her modeling career on the line she’s no longer interested in rebranding Luka’s image. With a failed marriage upon the horizon Brooklyn sets off to protect her image and rebuild her modeling career without the help of Luka.
Sebastian York and Elena Wolfe are back as the dynamic duo performing Brooklyn and Luka in this final book. I skipped book 2 delving straight into book 3. I’m actually only interested in listening to the both of them perform. I listened at 2X the speed using the audible app. These two narrators can bring any story to life. This was an easy listen. It was an unabridged audiobook which was convenient since I own the trilogy and had the opportunity to follow along.
Brooklyn and Luka had the type of push n’ pull relationship with jealousy, lies, mistrust, and miscommunication. This trilogy was based on the concept of rebranding the business image. While arranged marriages isn’t an original concept, Stella Gray made it her own by incorporating the modeling business and the effects of the scandalous activity of their fathers life had on their image. I thought it was an okay story. I’m not your average reader who gets invested in arranged marriage tropes. Stella wrote a convincing and compelling story. I appreciated the informative modeling wealthy lifestyle of the Zoric’s, but I must admit I wasn’t invested in it.
The first two books in this story showed a good level of "spunk" surrounding the marriage of convenience which turned into real feelings which then turned into mistrust. With the way the second book ended, I expected the final book in the trilogy to pack a greater punch. Brooklyn and Luca definitely had to fight hard through their insecure thoughts to find and admit their true feelings. I enjoyed their journey in this final book, but the overarching modeling story surrounding Brooklyn's arch-nemesis, Monica Shore, ended disappointingly. The author provided so many possibilities for the villainess to get her comeuppance, but it seemed she forgot about that part, and instead just focused on Brooklyn and Luca's HEA.
This is the finale for the Convenience Trilogy, where we get Luca and Brooklyn´s story, this conclusion couldn't have been more perfect for this couple. The rollercoaster of emotions and twist and turns we get thought the series wraps it all up in this book. We get to see how each character has grown individually as well as in the relationship, I definitely suggest these books for anyone looking for an arranged marriage with celebrity throw-in. I love the dual perspectives to really get what is going on with both main character's minds. The audiobooks are fantastic, I love the narrations made by the fantastic Elena Wolfe and Sebastian York, you can never go wrong with this duo.
This is the continuing story of Luka & Brooklyn. And what a story it is. Lots of bad exposure for both of them. They are always prone to split up without sticking together and talking it out. What I did love about this story is, that they have real arguments, such as you would have in real life. That's refreshing. There are steamy scenes, too. A model that Luka signs on betrays them with the truth of how they came to be married. Brooklyn is selfless, to a fault. Luke, in the end, becomes the same way. Of course, there is an HEA. A brilliant story to the end of a series. Looking forward to the next series of Stella Gray.
Goshhhhhhh that was a one hell of a rollercoaster ride of misunderstandings, and miscommunications and what not all of this whole book could have been avoided if she could just listen to his reasoning am dhe could just say his part at the right time an not too fucking late......talk about wrong timing and between all these i loved the trio of Tori, Brooklyn and Emzee three of them are so adorable together.....i can't wait for emzee's story..........It is so happy to see finally she how they settle all the dust for happy ending god knows they deserved it after a fake marrige like that....though i didn't like Maeto he had a pretty big role in making that happen too....

3.5/5 I think this was the best of the series. everything just seemed to flow a bit better. I enjoyed watching these two become a team and shift their priorities to what matters most. We get to see some acknowledgement from Luka about his past and why he is the person he is today. I think that's what I've struggled with the most in this series is the disconnect of the setup of Luka's character in the previous series and the Luka we get here. I'd say by the end of this book things are smoothed out but it feels disjointed.
The Ruin is the last book in the Convenience Series and they must be read in order. We pick up right where The Contract ends. I enjoy Brooklyn and Luka’s story. As the series went on I felt drawn more to Luka and a little put off with how childish Brooklyn can be. It’s like every little thing she runs away instead of talking it out like an adult. 🤦🏻♀️ Other than that I enjoyed their story and am looking forward to reading the rest of the family.
Since this is book three in Luca and Brooklyn's story, please be sure to read The Sham and The Contract before reading this book. Just when things seem to be getting on track with Luca and Brooklyn another bombshell is dropped right in the media's lap regarding their relationship. Will they survive this latest media frenzy? Or will this be the end of everything for them?
This entire series is awesome and a definite must read!
This is the best of this series yet. I laughed and I cried. I wanted to punch Monica multiple times throughout Luka and Brooklyn's story.
Watching their story unfold and learning their stories separately where you know each character's feelings while the other characters are unaware was frustrating at times. Then you see them growing as individuals and where they start gravitating to each other your heart soars.
So what I thought at the end of the last book he did fight for her to get the contract they just didn't want her... Brooklyn irritated the shit out of me the last book but in this one she was worst.. She was very selfish and thought about herself throughout the series.. even in the last book after they confessed their feelings for each other.. When the story broke she disappeared instead of talking to Luka and trying to fix it together and I hate that Luka had to clean up her mess

🔍🔎 can't believe that this is the end ans lwt mw tell youbit was perfect love how the author wrote it and how all the lose ends were resolved. You can imagine how much I adore these characters and how she presented their story is definitely going to my bookshelf of favorites the complete series is a worth read as t has drama, fun, steamy moments and everything your hear desired
This is the third book in the Convenience Trilogy. You have to read this Series in order. The story continues where The Contract lef off. Luka and Brooklyn's story is filled with misunderstandings, and a lack of communication, drama, and twists and turns. This is great conclusion to this beautiful trilogy, with a satisfaying ending.
Brooklyn's character is all over the place the author doesn't seem sure on what she wants to do with her. She was willing to throw her marriage away because of a modeling contract with no actual evidence that Luka sabotaged her but now she takes another about turn. Its hard to keep up. Had enjoyed the series until now but its becoming confusing
This book had me at the edge of my seat with all the plot twists! But I loved the character development and self discovery Luka and Brooklyn went through and allowed them to better understand each other and overcome the MANY obstacles. Also OMG the LUKA AND KIBBLES INTERACTIONS WHERE TOO CUTE WHAT THE HECK!!
It was a great story. just to think that sometimes in the real world things like this happens. There are people that lives to ruin some one else life but they forget about karma and Monica on this story got it. I enjoy reading this book and will recommend to others the whole series. I'm about to start the one of Emzee..
*An ARC was provided in exchange of an honest review*
