His Favorite has really grown on me. At first, I can't say I was a fan of either the story or the artwork. Yoshida was drawn so crazy as to be a bit offputting (especially in a genre like yaoi, which is typically populated by beautiful male characters). But the more I read, the more I really like it. It's fun, a bit zany, and somehow the lack of romantic interaction of the leads (read: m/m lust) doesn't bother.

Story: Nishida is still after Yoshida - much to Sato's annoyance. But when a transfer student appears and is completely at a loss with Yoshida, it becomes clear fast that the new student is connected to Nishida in some way. Sato, meanwhile, is tired of the games and ready to confess to the school that he and Yoshida are in a relationship. Will the girls explode when they find out?

Volume 7 is a bit of a turning point in Yoshida and Sato's relationship in that they can finally come out to everyone. The results are surprising - but very in keeping with Tanaka's zany series. I liked that this volume focuses on Sato and Yoshida only - I haven't found the side characters, as unique as they are, to be nearly as interesting. The humor, as always, put a smile on my face and I chuckled out loud when reading. This volume was particularly amusing.

His Favorite is a breathe of fresh air in the oh-so-serious yaoi/shounen ai genre. I look forward to every volume release. Reviewed from an ARC.

Y entro otro personaje que parece interesante, y nuestra hermosa historia posesiva de amor de Sato y Yoshida continua.

Relectura para ponerme al dia con los nuevos volumenes.

Voy a hacer la reseña general ya que al parecer no encuentro los tomos siguientes :(
Bueno, para empezar este manga es algo viejito, y la mayoría de mangas del género yaoi antiguos son mayormente conocidos por sus relaciones tóxicas, "mala calidad del dibujo", malas trama, etc., sin embargo este no es del todo igual.
Este manga nos cuenta la historia de cómo Yoshida, un chico que es descrito por los demás como feo, es molestado por las chicas de su escuela debido a que es amigo cercano de Sato, el chico más popular y guapo del Instituto, y todos quieren saber quién es su chica favorita. Yoshida al no saber la respuesta a eso, se la pasa preguntándole a Sato hasta que un día le dice que no tiene una "favorita", pero en cambio si tiene un favorito, el cual es el propio Yoshida, Sato le dice que le gusta mucho y por eso él es su favorito. Al principio este no lo toma en serio y cree que es algún tipo de broma; de todas formas ¿Quién querría salir con alguien como él?, pero esto solo es el inicio de una cómica y bellísima historia de amor entre Yoshida y Sato.

COSAS BUENAS DE ESTE MANGA:
a) Esta historia es un friendly reminder de que no sólo el exterior (tu apariencia) es lo que importa, si no que tu interior (tu personalidad, sentimientos, forma de pensar, etc.) también es fundamental para establecer tu valor como persona. Nos recuerda que el amor de verdad es básicamente ciego, y no cede ante los prejuicios que nos han impuesto desde siempre.
b) Aunque el estilo del dibujo no es mi predilecto, realmente no es tan grotesco ni tan malo, tiene sus cosas buenas para ser relativamente viejo.
c) LA RELACIÓN EN SÍ DE YOSHIDA Y SATO. Son tan lindos juntos. Me encanta cómo con el paso del tiempo, y a medida que se van conociendo mejor, ambos desarrollan sentimientos más profundos el uno por el otro, dejando de ser un amor ciego y pasajero.

COSAS NO TAN BUENAS DE ESTE MANGA:
a) Tiene algunas cosas que están super sacadas de no sé dónde; la realidad es muy exagerada.
b) Hay que admitirlo, tiene muchos clichés y personajes que sólo son puestos en la historia por conveniencia.

ANYWAYS, fué realmente entretenido y rápido leer este manga y espero realmente encontrar los siguientes tomos porque me enganché mucho con la historia :( NECESITO LEER MAS DE YOSHIDA Y SATO.

Awkward Yoshida is hated by all the girls in school for his perceived closeness with hot guy Sato, who uses hanging out with Yoshida as an excuse to turn them all down. If Yoshida is merely an excuse, why does Sato taunt him in private about “his favorite”? Is it possible Sato’s feelings run deeper than friendship? And what could he possibly see in the funny-looking Yoshida? Watch Yoshida’s life turn upside down with hilarious results!

According to wiktionary, this is on-point for yaoi: from Japanese やおい (yaoi), an acronym of Yama nashi, ochi nashi, imi nashi (ヤマなし、オチなし、意味なし), "no climax, no point, no meaning".

I got sucked in and spent way too much time and money on this series of boys-love scenarios. Because that’s all it really is, a series of tropes strung together with a mean pretty boy and an “ugly” tough guy who is really short.

This series contains: badly proportioned hands and bodies (though I've seen much worse), mean girls, asshole love interest, non-consensual or dubiously-consensual sexual interactions, and a total disregard to boundaries or desires.

While it has its moments, there's already enough explosive boys-love stories out there. We didn't really need another. Me saying “it's not as bad as others" isn't saying much. I know it's good that things are getting better but they're still not good enough, and I can’t really believe I read nine volumes of this before I gave up.

Sato and Yoshida....

What will happen next now that it's all out in school about their relationship the girl's are just as relentless as ever once they got over their shock! And I also see a break off story for Nishida and Azuma what a story there to tell with Sato helping Azuma get his man! It's sure to be a fun read can't wait to see what's ahead for Sato and Yoshida in the next volume.

Enfin des révélations.
Cet épisode présente 2 tournants : la révélation de Sato aux filles, et des prétendants qui commence à se disputer férocement, l'attention de Yoshida (bien qu'il reste un souffre-douleur)
J'ai aussi aimé la partie qui raconte l'avancée de la relation des deux personnages avec un souvenir de ce qui n'avait pas été raconté dans le livre précédent pendant leur séjour sur une ile du sud, et notamment, le tourment que ressent Yoshida maintenant sur ses évènements

This volume has some big development! I'm still thoroughly enjoying my read of this series, even if there are some tropes that aren't my favorite. (Ha)
I like the direction this series is going, and we get introduced to a new character! I'm looking forward to seeing where the relationship goes from here!

O.M.G. Probably one of the best volumes so far. Because...AND THIS IS NOT A DRILL!...the secret is out!!!!!
I was seriously! hoping the new kid at school was going to be the guy from the island, who was crazy about Sato. I really want to know what happened to him. But, I'm not disappointed that it's not, because it distracts Nishida, who was getting a bit annoying.

Best part? "The closest you'll get to Yoshida is your wet dreams." *insert crying emoji* This was just SO typical Sato!

Actual relationship progress! I love it! But I guess there's no chance this will become really yaoi at some point, is there? Maybeeee.... The last chapter gave me hope. I still love the series even if it doesn't become Yaoi, it's super funny! ^^
(but well, I guess some scenes were yaoi in this one but they're really short and vague...)

Nishida should be with Yamanaka. Torachin should be with Azuma. Sato and Yoshida are just the cutest couple ever. That's just my opinion, keep doing what you're doing. These books are good, five stars. :) Perfect dialogue, good story, and perfect amount of friendly irritation.
