Excerpt
"Shut the fuck up you little brat!" Marie snapped harshly. "You don't speak to adults that way! And certainly not to your parents!"

"You're not even anything close to a parent!" Alex shouted loudly, glaring at Marie. "And as far as I'm concerned, he's a stranger and I'm not related to him!"

Her father grabbed her and flung her to the wall. He grabbed her shoulders again and pinned her there. "All of these hysterics over a fucking dog?!"

"He was one of my best friends! He was everything to me!" Alex shouted. "But you had to take him away!"

Marie snorted, crossing her arms over her chest. She looked thoroughly annoyed and smug at the same time, making Alex want to hit her. "You're quite babyish aren't you, Alex? He's just a dog."

"Shut up!" Alex shouted at her. "Just shut the fuck up for a change, will you?!" Her father slapped her. Hard. She cried out and stared down at the floor. Everything she had ever had…everything she had ever loved…had been taken away…by this bastard in front of her. Gathering her strength up, she pushed him away with as much force as she could muster and then ran for the front door. She was almost sure that she hadn't heard a car drive away yet. So maybe there was a chance…

Her father stood in front of the door, tall and angry. "You're not going anywhere."

Glad it was free

Rubbish!! Book 1 was great but wasn’t too bad, had some remnants of a storyline even tough it was unbelievable that a child can be abused for 2 years with no intervention, and her mum just walking away! But book 2 takes the biscuit! Micheal’s parents doing nothing! The whole stupid scenes with alex’ dad and step mum. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Sweet Teen Romance

This is more of a book for young adults, but the story is well written. The characters are believable and the ending is sweet.
