Pallavi, a single woman in her early thirties is the darling daughter of her father who has been both a father and mother to her since she was ten. After being diagnosed with cancer, Pallavi wants to give him all the love and care in his last days. She is attracted to her colleague and friend, Ashish who is happily married and has a three-year-old son. And then there are memories of Ketki, her best friend from her teenage years who disappeared when she was thirteen. When life brings Ketki back in Pallavi's life after nineteen years, Pallavi discovers a dark truth that she wishes she had never known.
A debut book by Shailaja Pai, and she has set the bar extremely high. The book is a perfect example for short and sweet. Her writing style and the story line left me wanting to read more.
The story revolves around Pallavi, who is independent and not fallen prey to the societal norms. She works for a MNC and lives with her Baba, who is living his last days, and Pallavi is set on making them memorable.
