. One More Chance is the 1st book out of 9 in the Mistletoe Matchmakers of Clearwater County series, written by Bonnie R. Paulson. This book introduces the reader to two of the largest families, Dean/Wilson rivals, and some other members of their tight-knitted community. "
Taylor can’t believe she’s made a successful career as a world-renowned matchmaker yet can’t find love herself. Maybe she compares everything to the one who got away… or maybe… everyone really does only get that one shot at happily-ever-after.
Until he walks in.
Meet the Mistletoe Matchmakers. The best kind of second chance puts the hearts of rivals on the line. He's back and he's not about to walk away this time.
This book focuses on Roman Wilson and Taylor Dean, whose families have been at odds since these two were supposed to get married almost two decades previously. At that time, Roman left the country and has just recently returned. There is a lot of residual pain and anger, yet also curiosity as well. No one is sure how this change will change things."
You have to wonder how these characters were able to succeed as well as they did in their work environments, when they displayed so many fears, doubts, and apprehension in regard to their personal lives, with a propensity to give up if things didn't go the way they expected they should.
This is a clean and easy read. I would recommend this series to anyone who is interested in small-town interactions, close-knit families, and contemporary romance.
I was able to read this series on my Kindle through my local Public Library. I am forever grateful for all the books I have been able to access in my exploration of literary adventures.

This man left her at the altar and lived his best life for 18 years. He even married another woman and had a life with her. They divorced and his mom Gets sick and he comes back to town and at first he was such a dick. Then he decides he wants to be part of the silly matchmaking contest and brings over a friend from Paris for him to win the contest and I just hated him. I detested him and it ruined the book for me. The writing was good so I am o oh basing this on the disgusting pig of a hero. I just am so sorry. I wanted to like it but he just turned me off in the worst way.
Ack! The hero leaves his fiance at the altar, marries someone else , and she is still hung up on him 18 YEARS LATER??? This isn't romance, it's a mental health emergency. Don't waste your time with this disaster.

I’d been looking forward to reading this book because the premise sounded so interesting. It turned out to be just an ok read. Too much time was spent describing Taylor as angry, lonely, sad, confused and weepy, and Roman as angry, confused and unhappy. I realize their breakup would have been painful, especially when they were only in their late teens when it happened, but their current behaviour often lacked the maturity you’d expect after 18 years apart. So, too much oh-woe-is-me, not enough action, and a lacklustre ending left me quite frustrated when I finished the book. Not sure that I’ll continue with this series.
DNF -- I could not understand what was going on with the competition. It did not make sense. I could have survived that and the constant rehashing of how upset everyone was. I could not deal with Roman. He is just a jerk, and I quit when I realized that I didn't care if he could be redeemed.
I think the authors of this book need to have better editors--as well as knowing how to research things (that obviously weren't done quite a few times in this book) and maybe even take some courses on writing novels.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from StoryOrigin and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a good start to a new series. Two families make their business a matchmaking one. The Dean family and the Wilson family are at odds though. Eighteen years ago, Roman Wilson left Taylor Dean at the alter. He heads to Europe to start the international branch of the family business. After his divorce, Roman heads home to Montana to seek peace and find himself again. Upon landing at the airport, he learns, from his brother, that their mother is in the hospital from a heart-attack. Roman races to the hospital and sees his ex-fiance for the first time in 18 years as his mother, Elizabeth is sharing a hospital room with her father, David. These two have a long road ahead of them as well as the annual matchmaking contest.
This story was written in a multiple POV format but basically focused on the two main protagonists. Seeing Roman's POV really helped me as there were times when I just wished Taylor would have told him off in a big way.
This is a sweet, clean second chance romance. The reason for the deduction of the star, there were times that I would have to re-read a section to understand the scene. It appeared disjointed at times. There were several miss appropriate words in place that a spell-check would not be able to catch. My copy was an ARC though and sometimes are not completely edited but this copy was just a little confusing at times. That being said though, I did enjoy the story and look forward to reading more from the series.
Loved this Christmas matchmaking story. The Wilson and Dean families' business is matchmaking in the town of Mistletoe, Montana. Love the name of the town! When Roman Wilson leaves Taylor Dean standing at the altar, things are not the same. When the matriarchs of the two families end up in the hospital at the same time, matchmaking begins when Taylor asks for some help. She wants to them to find her match. Let the games begin when Roman, who has been gone for twenty years, steps into the hospital room. Great beginning of a new series!
Taylor Dean is one very buttoned-up woman who comes off as closed and rigid…or does she? As I read her story, it tugged on my heart. She meets up with Roman Wilson, right at the start of the book, and he is her ex-fiancé…not JUST her ex, but never-showed-up-on-their-wedding-day ex, and has been gone almost twenty years.
This may seem like the start of something you’ve read before however… The Deans and the Wilsons are rival matchmakers! Both Taylor and Roman have deeply troubling stories from their pasts and in order to find their true HEA, and love, they must confront their own fears and pre-conceived beliefs. My heart went out to both of them.
No worries, there is some “lightness” and levity to parts of this book and I enjoyed reading. I can see some more stories, at least I hope there will be. It would be fun to read more about these two families.
I wanted to like this book based on a recommendation I read. However, it was sorely disappointing. From repetitive language to typos and grammar errors, it was difficult to concentrate on the story. Also, this series is reflective of an old movie called, "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." Assigning 2 stars may be too generous. 😑
I didnt finish the book, which is rare for me but life is too short. I didnt find it believable that these strong successful people would fall apart so quickly after 18 years apart. Asking to be matched by the mother of the man who left her at the altar and her dad? Burning her planner and changing her whole life schedule? Sorry. I don't think so.

This second chance at love story is unique and captivating. Taylor and Roman both belong to families of matchmakers, and were once matched to each other. He left her at the altar to pursue his own plans for his future, and eventually married and divorced another woman. Taylor has never really moved on from her hurt and disappointment, but now she is determined to find a new match to fulfill the dreams of a family that she had once shared with Roman. With Roman now back in town for a matchmaking competition, the old feelings of hurt and regret resurface. The attraction and feelings the once had for each other also flame back to life, leaving them both confused and yet somehow hopeful that a future together might be possible once they deal with the shadows of hurt, distrust, regret and guilt. All the characters in this book are memorable and relatable, but you will fall in love with Taylor and Roman and become invested in their happily ever after.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Eighteen years after he left Taylor at the altar, Roman returns to Mistletoe, Montana hoping for forgiveness and a chance to make up with her. Instead, he is roped into competing in a matchmaking contest. Taylor is ready for a match of her own, and asks her father and Ronan's mother to find her a suitable match. When Ronan offers himself as a suitor for the contest to find a match for Olivia, he again hurts Taylor. As they contest progresses, Roman has a change of heart and tries to restore his relationship with Taylor. She rebuffs his advances and refuses to even acknowledge him as a friend. The story gets more complicated from that point, and the Contest becomes a focal point for them. The end of the story is unexpected, but happy. I love happy endings, so I was delighted with this book.
I am a sucker for any book that has to do with match making so for me this story was amazing. I absolutely fell in love with the story line. Taylor and Roman have a history. They were once matched to each other but Roman left Taylor at the altar. Now time has pasted and Roman is back in town. Taylor has never really moved on from the hurt that Roman caused her. They still have lots of chemistry between them but will they be able to forgive and forget what happened between them. Honestly I would really recommend this book, The story line is very unique and once I picked it up I was not able to put it down. I read well past my bedtime.I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
Matched with Her Cowboy Billionaire Ex-Fiance by Bonnie R Paulson is a mixture of adventure, mystery and, of course, love. Being a professional matchmaker with many correct matches to her name Taylor just can’t find her own match. Left at the alter 20 years before she is gun shy but wants a husband and family. When her father is in the hospital the rival matchmaking matriarch is in the same room (after a disaster and very limited space.) Taylor decides to ask them to match her. When ex-fiancé comes back to town since the near wedding, Taylor finds she has to work with him on the annual matchmaking contest. Roman wants to win…at any cost. Will these to former fiancés find love with each other again or will they only find matches for someone else?
Roman left Taylor at the altar, and hasn't returned for nearly twenty years. Now he's divorced and his mother has had a heart attack. Taylor is a Dean and one of the matchmakers in Mistletoe, the other family is the Wilson's, Roman's family. There's a Christmas competition but the matchmakers have to work together rather than against each other, but Taylor has never forgiven Roman, especially as he was her best friend first, and didn't give her a reason for not turning up, she's never found anyone else who makes her feel the same, and Roman, although he married was comparing his wife to Taylor all the time.
This is the first book in the Mistletoe Matchmakers of Clearwater County series by Bonnie R. Paulson. Taylor Dean is a matchmaker who doesn’t believe in love because Roman Wilson, the man she loved, left her at the altar. Taylor has been helping others find love while avoiding love in her life. Roman returns back home eighteen years later to Mistletoe, Montana because of his mother’s declining health. Every Christmas, the town of Mistletoe hosts a matchmaking contest. Taylor decides to enter to find a match for her before Roman discovers she’s still single. Roman is determined to win her back. I really enjoyed this holiday second chance at romance novel.
Mistletoe is known for its matchmaking, especially two families the Deans and the Wilsons but it's also known for when Taylor Dean was left at the alter by Roman Wilson. Now 18 years later after he disappeared from town, he's back. What is her world turning into? The hurt is still there. The Mistletoe festival contest is starting; Taylor and Roman are competing to see which family company will win the matchmaking contest. Can they work together? I really enjoyed this story. I felt the anguish Taylor felt as I read the story. The story takes you on an emotional journey.
An original storyline featuring two rival matchmaker families, a matchmaking contest, and a small town named Mistletoe. Each character had definite vivid personalities from catty, vain Olivia, sleazeball Bryson, somewhat self-serving nice guy Stephen, matriarch Elizabeth Wilson, patriarch David Dean, and of course the H, Roman Wilson and h, Taylor Dean. I really enjoyed getting to know this community and the people that live there and I am looking forward to the continuation of this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This was a wonderfully romance with touch of sadness throughout because of Roman and Taylor's situation. Roman left Taylor at the altar eighteen years ago and when he comes home he realizes that she was what he had been missing through the years. Taylor on the other hand thinks there was something wrong with was the reason he left and she think he will be with her again. They get into a matchmaking contest and the problems begin. There are a lot bumps and bruises through the contest and their relationship before Roman figures out a resolution to their problem.
Some highs some lows but definitely entertaining. My heart ached for Taylor. It was almost unbelievable that she was harboring all her anger toward Roman for 18 years. Furthermore, it was also almost unbelievable Roman found it hard to get his life together after being gone from Mistletoe for 18 years thinking he was doing Taylor a favor by staying away. Lots of angst throughout this book. Of course the outcome was predictable considering the title but it’s the getting there that was so fun to read. Some highs some lows but definitely entertaining.
To say I was "blown away!" Is tame compared to how this book made me feel! I wasn't prepared for the high energy and feelings of angst and love this story put me through! Lol I was literally spellbound from the first page to the last! The chemistry throughout the story, the rollercoaster ride of these two people so obviously made for each other! All the characters in the story flowed effortlessly! Bravo Ms. Psulson! I just found my next series and I'm anxious to keep reading and find out who's next! Thank you!
Matchmakers in Montana! Taylor and Roman have both known they are the perfect match for years. But Roman is given bad advice and leaves Taylor at the altar. When he returns home after many years and a failed marriage he expects to find Taylor happy and married to someone else. But Taylor has never found anyone else to be her perfect match. Can they admit their love for each other and find their way back? Don’t miss this clean read in Bonnie Paulson’s new series!
A well written perfectly paced story pulling you in from the start. This was how Roman returns to his small home town and is stuck with helping out on a contest with his ex Taylor. Taylor wants to win to help her family out financially and Roman wants to win for the same reason. Both families are well respected in town and being a small town family values are important. A good start to the series.
Just how easy is it to forget being left at the altar after 18 years? When Roman’s mother has a heart attack and ends up sitting in the hospital room of Taylor’s father on her way to being released, what happens when Roman and Taylor walk in? Feelings go deep. Both are astonished and angry. Can they work through it? If so, how can Taylor get past the hurt she felt 18 years ago? How can Roman deal with why he left 18 years ago? Interesting!!!
Taylor is a successful matchmaker, but she just can't find her own match. She was abandoned at the altar by Roman, but when her father and the patriarch of the rival family are in the same hospital room, she asks for their help to match her. But when Roman returns to the city, she learns that they will have to work together for the annual matchmaking contest, and they both want to win at any cost. I really loves this story and recommend the reading.
I love the way that Bonnie R. Paulson writes. She does an awesome job of writing a story and making you feel like you are there witnessing it first hand!!! My suggestion is that you read these books in order -- because then the next book of the series will make a little more sense to you.
18 years ago, Taylor and Roman Wilson were supposed to get married. BUT, Roman took off to Europe without telling Taylor why!!! Now, 18 years later, Roman's mother suffers a heart attack and he comes back to Mistletoe, Montana. When Roman and Taylor end up working against each other in the yearly matchmaking contest, things take a turn between them. I don't write spoilers -- but this story will have you continuing to read until you reach the ending!!!
