Adult Dyslexia: Unleashing your Limitless Power

Rate this book
Dyslexia affects 1 in 10 adults yet most of the information available focuses on children and on what people can’t do (the deficit model). My work with thousands of adults with dyslexia and neuro-differences has shown me the key to success is having practical strategies for weaknesses and an in-depth understanding of how to use your unique strengths. This inspiring book •enable you to understand your strengths and weaknesses and what to do about them.•give you different ways of viewing intelligence.•give you an understanding of how the brain works. •outline real-life case studies for a deeper understanding of how dyslexia affects others and what strategies they use.•explain how personality differences affect how you think, learn and work. •encourage you to take action, develop your confidence and achieve great things.

Informative in an accessible way. Helpful too. Narrator spoke a little too fast in places but I was able to replay those segments.

Enjoyed the narrator's voice on this audiobook.

If you have someone in your family or you are dyslexic or neurodiverse, this book will reassure you that you are not only very smart, but have a super skill too. Where the world has constantly told dyslexics and neurodiverse people that they're stupid, know that you are quite the opposite. Living in a world that isn't set up for neurodiverse minds means we have had to adapt to fit their world. However, dyslexics and neurodiverse minds are excellent at adapting when needed and, where understood, we thrive.

Recommended.

A stunning insight

I am 59. I have never been diagnosed as dyslexic because it wasn’t a thing in my day. I have always been embarrassed and hidden my spelling, memory and organization problems. I have been successful in my work, but only through a “cover up” of my issues. This book has put a new perspective on my past life and future going forward. Thanks for the help. A truly extraordinary book.

love this book

I’m neuro divergent, and have had many assessments, but no one ever tells you what they actually mean and helps contextualise the information for you.
