Relaunch- New cover. 3000 more words. More Sex. More Crazy. Preview of "Damon-Son of Adam and Eve". Coming November 2020 My want for her—from the very beginning—had always been wicked, immoral, and frightening. The intensity of it scared even me, and nothing ever scared me. She made me feel for the first time in my life. For a man like me, that was terrifying, but it was also fucking exhilarating. I spent so much time watching her that soon, my want turned into need, and then obsession. From there, it developed into full-blown addiction. She became all that I thought of. If I was a better, less selfish man, I would have forced myself to stay away from her. We were from two different worlds; one light, one dark. I knew the darkness of my world would inevitably swallow her whole. But I couldn’t let her go. I wouldn’t even lie and say I’d tried. I hadn’t, because every fiber of my being screamed that Eve was mine. She was meant for me. I could live without her, but I didn’t want to. I was rational enough to know that she wasn’t ready for me though. She was too naïve, too innocent, too young. I’d break her. So, in silence, I’d suffered. Watching, wanting, waiting and needing only her. She was always right within my reach, but never close enough to touch. Until… I took her.
Adam is certifiable. And so is Eve. I love it. This deranged book is written beautifully. These characters are amazing. At first I was like she is not about to give in so easily... then the story just unraveled into madness. ‘Eve said:🗣Yes you! You crazy white man! I said what I said!🤣’ I haven’t had a crush on a girl character in a long time! Hell I’m just crushing all around. ‘Adam said: 😈 Here lies all the mvth@Fvc*ers who thought it was ok to get between me and mine.” *Swooooon* 😍😍😍 lmao Eye😫- something is wrong with me.
This was the craziest crap I think I've ever read.
I have a thing about typos and inconsistencies...so, yeah there was that.
But this is horrible on so many different levels. How to explain without giving away too much? I'll try...
First off, Adam is crazy AF. He is a college professor who becomes obsessed with a random student on campus, Eve. Throughout the book, we find that he has stalked Eve... literally followed her damn near everywhere... for four years. Apparently, he'd even been inside her home, as he emulated several aspects of her home in the secret room he kept her in.
I actually enjoyed Adam's particular brand of crazy. It probably shouldn't have been humorous, but it made me laugh. His full-blown conversations with himself we're great...his casual attitude toward violence, up to and including murder...I don't think I have a word in my vocabulary for it. You can only use "crazy" so many times before it loses its effect...and "crazy AF" won't do it, either.
So... Adam's crazy ass kidnaps Eve--but we're never told how he actually did it and I like details like that--and he locks her in a room in a house he says he had built for them. Because in the Wonderland that is his mind, Eve will fall in love with him and want to stay there with him forever... because they were made for each other. From what I remember reading, they'd had a handful of conversations over four years, and she, along with other members of her class, attended his wedding...but yeah...that screams "made for each other."
Eve wasn't likeable. I'll admit, I usually have a soft spot for the hurt/damaged/bad boy...and I'm generally much harder on the supposed heroines of these stories, but yeah...no... nothing likeable or endearing about Eve. I think the writer tried too hard to make Eve "hard," but she only comes off as annoying...and kind of stupid. It's mentioned that Eve survived so much during her young life, including sexual assault. It would stand to reason that this would have made her who she is, but it's never mentioned again in the book...not even when she tells Adam about living with her foster mother.
The book is a back-and-forth of crazy between these two.
**SPOILERS FOLLOW**
The writer seemed to kind of phone in the ending. Everything needed to be wrapped up so there could be some sort of HEA... I don't know how you get a HEA with a homicidal sociopath, but whatever. Of all of the "claptrap" that is this book (I've never used the word "claptrap"...I like it), the dumbest, most ridiculous, absolutely unbelievable part (for me anyway) is that Eve convincingly fakes amnesia for two whole years...WTF?
This was recommended as a good dark IR romance. It was supposed to be a really good read by a really good author. The writing started out well and I was intrigued. But I think you can tell when a writer either gets stuck or gets tired of writing. The typos, inconsistencies and other errors become more frequent and the story gets rushed... usually to a ridiculous ending.
Lies...lies... all of it, lies! OK, maybe not lies...we all have different tastes, so some people really liked this. I'm not one of those people.
I read this after I scrolled across a post on Facebook from someone recommending reads. I love dark reads and this book had my attention. I enjoyed it.
i really liked this book but i felt like something was missing at the end. i wish the epilogue would be longer, and the stuff they did after she come back to him.. are missing how their relationship was,if she would end up loving him ? how was giving birth, something more about the kid...i dunno, i felt like i needed more about it,to have some closure , i don't even know when and how they end up married...
Okay now Shantel! You turned the shock and awe meter way up on this one! The level of twisted, dysfunction was over the top crazy! I spent a good portion of the book concerned about Eve's well being, and sanity. Just to find out that she was just as nuts and off her damn rocker as Adam! 🤯 Although Adam was possessive, controlling and mad obsessed with Eve, I was so intrigued by him. (Maybe I'm crazy too)! 😂 Adam really, truly and honestly felt that that he and Eve were meant for each other! Didn't matter what she or anyone else thought about it, she was HIS! Eve played me with that little naïve role, but she was just as cunning and manipulative as Adam! Then it just kept getting crazier and darker as we went along. And I loved every minute of it! Whew, that was intense! THEN, we get a snippet of Damon's story! OMG! What are you trying to do to us????? Cannot wait to dive into more of your catalog! I am hooked! Loved this! 👍👍👍
Crazy Adam. It would be a shame to try and come between him and Eve. The man is crazy and crazy obsessed. He would do anything to have a relationship with Eve and have a family. Loved this book.
I don’t even know what to say! Which is such a first! Like I’m completely speechless! I’m almost afraid to read Damon! Almost! But I’m to curious not to smh
Ok so Adam was a freaking pyscho but I loved him he adored him some Eve it was pass obsession, he was already crazy then a mug but falling for Eve just threw extras on it, and i started feeling just as crazy as Eve cause I wanted Adams crazy behind as well, to rate the book a 10/10 the plot was crazy but amazing the sex scenes were great the characters and the craziness was phenomenol, I hope to read more, forbbiden crazy is such a turn on, unhealthy turn on but turn on none the less, being a sista who is down with the swirl ahh what a tasty toxic fantasy I would DEFINITLEY reccomend and can't wait to read more finished it in one night and want more of Eve and Adam
i gave it 3* because of the potential i felt in the story which was the reason i kept on reading but i was left with only that the promise i loved reading adam's head he is a real psycho and i loved his point of view but i could not feel him eve was worst for me - she was interesting but i was not fascinated and i really wanted to love her of the two - adam is better wrritten reading this book felt like a documentary - the characters were detected i could not feel any emotion from them the writing - like it was from a distance - did not help
Ok I need Shantel Davis and Lorrain Allen to get together and write a book because both of them are just beyond insane. In this book Shantel will have you feeling uncomfortable in every sentence you read, but yet at the sametime you will enjoy it, you will understand the charcters and root for them!! I can't describe except to say it will mind blow you.
This was an interesting read, which I enjoyed. The dark workings of both these characters' minds was intriguing. I kept flipping pages to see how it would end.
Two strange people, Adam and Eve. This is my first read from this author and it certainly won't be my last. Great job telling this story about obsession.
The way to describe Adam and Eve is... this is not a BIBLICAL book. Purely a stalker and sexually derived read. READ it YES, not for everyone. Almost wished there was a sequel to this story it was too short but beggars can't be choosy.
The three stars are because I genuinely like the way the author writes, her stories are very character driven, you become emotional connection/invested with her characters but major problem...all her characters are psychopaths, like seriously all of them have issues and should in jail or mental institutions
I don't even know how you explain a book this messed up but in a good way. Adam was crazy, obsessed out of control in love with Eve and without giving the plot away this author did something amazing she made me like, hate, pity, and invested in what happed to these damaged amazing but crazy people, what a rollercoaster and just when you think you have the story you get a 180 ending that leaves all those feelings out there for you too obsess over hours after you finish reading. This was one of the best reads I have read in a long time. Original freaky and interesting from beginning to end. Just wow!
OMG......this is some crazy stuff. The title should be when two crazy people fall in love. I was floored from the moment i started reading this book. The story line is definitely different. The author address some topics that are considered touchy. Adam is certifiably crazy and Eve is not fAr behind him. The one question that felt wasn’t truly answered was how did Adam get his information about Eve?
I want my friends to read this book so we can discuss it.
I liked the book, different though. Adam and Eve’s relation is tapped like a mutha. My only thing is Eve is settling, she will have no real happiness with this guy.
This is a dark, violent tale of crazed obsession that begs the question, what is Love really ? The H and h are unique, twisted characters,as is the tale .A tale that I would not necessarily frame as a "romance",though Adam would disagree.
Psychotic Romance: Who would’ve thought those two words would pair so well together. Well somehow someway Shantel made it happen. I was curious to see how this book would flow, I had absolutely no clue which direction this author would take it. But let me tell you, the direction she chose was absolutely perfect. The fight in Eve made me so proud. To be so broken and still have the fight of a warrior inside is quite admirable. Beauty, independence, self motivation and just sheer will fully describes Eve. She knows who she truly is and fully embraces it. Adam.... Now this man is quite complex but has a heart that will leave you like AWWWW after you decipher his psychotic delusions and murderous ways. They make sense, kind of, in there own messed up way. The turns that this book made had me rushing to turn the page so I can discover what happens next. The way this book ended within the epilogue seemed a bit rushed. Maybe because I just wanted soooo much more. This is my second book I’ve read by this author and I plan to read many more. I highly recommend reading this and her other books. You’ll thank me later!
Shantel Davis’ “Adam and Eve” is a BWWM fast-paced dark romance and short. Adam is on the extreme side of unhinged—though he does have a mental illness that is part of the story. He shmalks Eve and keeps her c4ptive. Adam is the type of guy who will do anything for Eve, even though Eve does fight it. He is married during this shmalking and captivity but later gets divorced. Knowing what was happening with the wife, I didn’t have a problem with it. There is a racial component to the story that is prevalent that comes from Adam’s father primarily and some from Adam’s ex-wife. Shantel Davis’ stories tend to read on the extreme, obsessive, possessive side, and I’m used to that. The ending was something else.
Have you ever read something that you were ok reading while you were reading it? Then when it was over, you wonder what all you just read. That's me right now. Was I entertained? Yes. Do I really think it was put together well? Not really. Would have gotten 3 1/2 stars but the scene with the father at the end seemed extra for extras sake. I would read something else by this author though.
...this book, you just can't stop. I believe I began reading this book around 8:00pm and I HAD to finish it. It is now almost 3:00am. Obsession is a kind word for how Adam views his "relationship" with Eve. This story, and what I have read of Shantel's work thus far, deal in what would be considered dark relationship themes (I won't get into too many details, but please be warned regarding content/trigger warning).
Dark romance at its finest. Whew. They both crazy in their own way. End of story. Hers born of survival. His, naturally developed. Interesting story though. I wonder if there’ll ever be a sequel to this one. 🖤
This is a story about two people find one another against the world. They're a match made in life. He wants her, and she needed protection from herself.
Oh wow this was confusing at times, especially with how Eve was thinking about her situation.
I did think the ending was a little rushed and slapped together to make everything makes sense, but other than that it was a good story, and not what I’m used to when it comes to Stalker dark romance.
