Authentic Life: Buddhist Teachings and Stories

Rate this book
David Brazier has been teaching Buddhism for more than twenty years, and teaching psychotherapy for forty years. This collection of teachings and Buddhist stories shows us how to live an authentic life. What does it mean to live our lives in tune with the way things really are? How do we manage strong emotions? What is faith, and why is it important? In this collection David Brazier shares his deep wisdom and compassionate heart. "These pages are crammed with both wisdom and heart. Brazier has long decades of Buddhist practice and study behind him, and yet always writes from a place of freshness and humility. This allows us to join him with our own questions, and find our answers as he finds his. Suitable both for long-term practitioners and those brand new to Buddhism, this book will help you to find your own refuge." ~ Satya Robyn author of Coming Refuge in Pureland Buddhism "Referencing a wide range of themes across numerous Buddhist traditions and historical contexts, the author offers a fresh vision and insights on a wide range of spiritual and religious topics. Brazier's statement, "When meditation is about awareness and no longer about rapture, I am dismayed" symbolizes the spirit of this impressive book." ~ Kenneth Kenshin Tanaka, Professor Emeritus, Musashino University and Past President, International Association of Shin Buddhist Studies

Honest discussions on Buddhist ideas

This book is different from other books that i read. The discussion inside seems to me to be authentic from the author's long and hard thinking. I enjoyed his points thoroughly and disagreed in some points. Discussing with him in person must be very attractive
