Rate this book
After Happily-Ever-After

Clarissa Lawrence knows little of her fairy godmother's past. When she discovers an unopened wedding present in the form of a recipe book from her adoptive mother, she also finds a letter that explains Abigail Lawrence's mysterious past.

Abigail Lawrence's Untold Story: The Witch's Familiar

When Abigail Lawrence's daughter becomes injured while working as a teacher at a magical boarding school for at-risk youth, she returns to the Unseen Realm, a place she gave up so that she could live a normal life without magic. While staying at Womby's School for Wayward Witches to nurse her daughter back to health, her black cat, Lucifer, begins to act usual as a reaction to all the magic. He runs off, and she fears for his safety. Abigail must employ the assistance of witches and their magic to help her get him back-even if it risks her soul in the process.

Included in this book are thirteen recipes of Clarissa Lawrence's favorite recipes mentioned in the series, excerpts from scenes than feature these foods in the series, and Abigail Lawrence's hedgewitching tips for a modern witch.

This is a crossover story that takes place between books 1 and 4 in Clarissa Lawrence's Womby's School for Wayward Witches Series and after book 3 in Abigail's The Problem With Hedge Witches Series. It is a fun standalone novel, fine to read prior to starting either series.

Wombys school for wayward witches. Book 18

Brilliant, a look at Clarissa’s fairy godmother, Abigail Lawrence.
Excerpts from various books in the series that include her delicious recipes, and a look into her life without Clarissa before and after. She received her to adopt.
Delicious appetising

I've been following the story of Clarissa Lawrence since "Tardy Bells and Witches' Spells". This is a kind of spin-off of the series from the point of view of Abigail Lawrence (her adoptive mother); and Lucifer, who was turned into a cat by Baba Nata and became Abigail's companion and familiar. It would be best read as part of the series, just after "Witches Gone Wicked", so all the necessary background has been revealed.
Abigail and Lucifer visit the Unseen Realm to tend Clarissa's burns, suffered when she fried Julian Thistledown to stop his attempted rape. Abigail talks with Thatch about reversing the curse on Lucifer, but Thatch cannot help; he cannot even help his sister, Priscilla, revert from her Raven curse. She tries to get Jeb to help, but he is evasive and acts suspiciously. She meets Clarissa's colleagues and students, and interestingly, we see them from Abigail's point of view. Vega plays a prominent role, her usual prickly self, though showing a more vulnerable side occasionally.

Part 2, "Thirteen Magical Recipes from Womby’s School for Wayward Witches", is a reprise of Clarissa’s food memories It goes way back to the earliest books, when Clarissa and Derrick were "an item" and Missy was still alive; and then some later books after Missy and Derrick were gone. Each flashback has a recipe that sounds really tasty. If you have culinary skills, you should try some of them. The desserts were especially intriguing.

I was excited to read about Abigail and Lucy. I would have liked to have had a longer story but it was still good. The recipes included are ones that I look forward to trying. The memories from the other books in this series was enjoyable. The kitchen tips and omens were a nice touch.
I really want to read more about the characters from Wombly's. I'd like to know more about what the future holds for Vega, Thatch, Clarissa, Lucy and Abigail. (Fingers crossed)

Con.

If you want recipes fine but not worth reading, who wants to have repeated chapters from all previous books in the series. Waste of time if I had paid I would be asking for my money back, thank God for kindle unlimited. After book 15 it felt like a different writer who could not get a grip on things that had been written to much sex in 16 and 17 which was unexpected what a let down. magdg

*** I received an advanced e-copy from the author in exchange for my honest review

When Clarissa becomes gravely injured at school, Thatch has her godmother Abigail come to nurse her back to health with her plant magic. Abigail brings her famliar & companion, Lucifer. She is harboring a secret about Lucifer that no one but she Lucifer know about. She entrusts Vega & Thatch with the secret and begs for their help. This may be her one chance to help not only Clarissa but Lucifer as well.

Good companion book!

This short story fills in some blanks and gives us more insight into Abigail and her past. I have read the Womby's series so this fit right in. Might be a little lost if you haven't read any of the other books. I can't wait to try some of the recipes!

I received an ARC. This is my honest review.

Another great book in The Womby's School series. This book will answer a lot of questions from the last book and is a good way to learn more about some of the other characters
