Blasphemy is book 1 of an urban fantasy series. It sets up a world where there are multiple gods (of Earth, Death, Sun, Pencils, etc.) and a villain of sorts that is intent on destroying that world thru any and all apocalyptic means. There is some good character development, but there are also a lot of characters to keep track of. I like that the author really tried to incorporate diversity, especially through relationships and gender identity. Not bad for a debut novel. :)

Fun book! Loved all the twists in the plot and all the gods who interacted in the story. Never could guess what would come next or how it would end. Ending was satisfying - wasn't a soppy ending where everything magically all works out. Character development was good - which was quite an achievement since there were SO many characters. Fun read.
