"In love with pain" is a journey through an impetuous tempest of a broken heart, mended within ink in the form of short and long poems. A journey of two strangers, the writer and the reader, filled with words of love, pain, anger and passion.
Hesitant at first because poems aren't typically my thing, the meaningful paragraphs in between asked reflective questions that really make you think and feel various emotions. Deep yet will!e and leads to a positive direction. Highly enjoyable and will be worth going back and reading various phrases repeatedly.
🌹 she leaves dust of her heart everywhere she goes. she’s at peace with the universe in her mind that has the depth of the galaxies, with a soul in the shades of dark, eyes full of stars.
🌹 we feel it all again when we get caught by the feelings we left behind, when a thought becomes a smile. in the end we were just lovers that crossed each other’s mind once in a while.
🌹 in the most silent moments, when the heart is the loudest, you can hear the feelings that never left, like echoes that come back.
🌹 and there i was on this empty street, under all the lights, dancing into the night and for all its stars, and for a moment, just for a moment, you were there.
This Book was 1.5 Stars for me. At the beginning I really liked the comfort of someone understanding some of my internal struggles but with every poems the topics and also the metaphors became overused and were repeated to the point where poems had the same names or same lines. Now I understand this can los be done intentionally but to me it only seemed sloppy and lazy in this case. Originally I was gonna give this 2 stars but there was a poem called readers at the end that really threw me off because it used men and women as metaphors in a really strange way. Read this if you need comfort but do not expect good or creative writing for the most part.
Very emotional book that made me think and reflect several times. It gave me comfort several times. One of the poems at the end threw me off a bit because of how the writer used women and men as metaphors - nothing wrong to do so obviously but the metaphors were weird. Also felt a little bit repetitive sometimes, which is why I’m giving the book 3 stars and not higher
Very, very unlikely set of reviews. And it’s too bad, because I liked the poems in the preview; they seemed much better than most self-published works of poetry.
