Author Tanya Destang-Beaubrun has always known that her calling was to heal, nurture, and care for her fellow human beings; it has always been a deep, unwavering conviction at her core. And so she became a family physician who put patients first, treating their bodies, minds, and spirits. In Of Bubbles, Buddha, and Butterflies, Dr. Destang-Beaubrun chronicles the changes that have occurred in her life since she decided to follow her heart and pursue her dreams. She presents a series of essays and narratives written during the four-year period after she left her thriving Western medical practice and immersed herself in the study of integrative and functional medicine. Destang-Beaubrun recalls her breakdowns, breakthroughs, fears, and faith as she navigated her way to a new way of living, learning, and loving. This collection of personal essays on bravery, trust, and faith shares one woman’s insights and life lessons as she shifted from traditional medical practice to something more.
What an inspiring little book !!!!!! A good comfortable read, made me sooo emotional at some stages, as if it were my own story ..... very inspired as I have long felt that I would like to write a book some day and also tell my story ...... the format of this book makes it look that more feasible .... Kudos Dr. Bubbles ...... very proud of you !!
Dr Tanya always knew she wanted to be a healer. She did what was necessary to get through the schooling to obtain her license. Finding she is not being welcomed she reaches forward and opens a clinic of her own. She is young, but she is determined. Though it takes some time the location becomes populated and her business is flourishing. But, in her heart she feels she is not truly healing in a way she has conceived in her mind throughout the years. Once again she pushes herself forward to engage in learning experiences that expand her knowledge and awareness of people, hurting people. Moving to the US she develops valuable friendships and absorbs all the lessons she's meant to incorporate into her own life of healing. One profound thing unexpectedly arises that shocks her into a final realization, she must learn to care for herself more Accept that she is fully worthy. Arriving in New York she does take on different protocols that stretch her body and mind, she eats better, lives more wholesomely, but she is not in a frame of acceptance of others' gifts for her to receive. Caring, being able to accept the support and free expression of love from the people she has cared for. This realization makes the book what it is.
This spiritual memoir was much needed for me at this time. I have never heard of this author but I will definitely be looking forward to reading more of her. I love how transparent the author on the book. She gave insights of herself and then explain how she came through her adversaries. This very short, quick read about the author that will have the reader encouraged, inspired, and motivation. Thank you. Now the author can live her best life and I hope I will be able to too. The cover of the book is glorious. I love butterflies. The writing style of the author was on point and I could comprehend. The lesson to be learned in this book is loving yourself in a new way.
