Aww, that last part is so sweet. This is a Horror book but the ending story made me smile, genuinely.
Rick Wood offers a horror treat with 12 Days Of Christmas Horror and it's a blast reading this one. My personal favourites were Track Santa, this one tugs at my heartstrings and will probably make you smile too, amidst the horror, of course. The Nativity of the Living Dead is a bit different and so out there, I did not necessarily liked it but well. Secret Santa for the Sadistic is fun although cliche and unoriginal. The Mince Pie is disturbing, I feel bad for Santa. Haha.
And yes! The Christmas Car Trap is terrifying! Now I'm starting to hate Christmas Cards!

4.0 Stars — An absolute blast of Christmas HELL!!!
These short stories are all excellent. A disturbing secret Santa gift, murderous fairies and so so much more.
This is one to just sit back and enjoy in a few sessions if eery-brooding seasonal joy. I have to say this was one of the best and most consistent anthologies I’ve come across in.. well, ever!
Rick Wood deserves a pat on the back and a mince pie. Maybe not the type of mince pies on this collection, but the more yummy ones!

Overall a good, very different, little collection of short horror stories. There were some great ideas here however some really could have done with being expanded upon.
Not always a lot of actual horror in detail but a very lighthearted take on some gruesome ideas and a really easy read.
Just a bit of fun - don’t expect too much from this. 4*/5 (some stories were 3).

Some good stories, great Christmas ideas and lots of creativity, so definitely worth a read, but many are far too short and not enough horror, blood, evilness etc, etc described in them. It was as if he outlined each story but then didn't take the 'horror' content to the next level which would have seriously improved the standard and enjoyment of each one. Maybe reducing the stories from 12 to 6 but increasing their size as well as the horror aspect would be good ideas for next year or possibly when possibly producing an "Easter book of Horror'. A good new writer with lots of potential - will definitely be reading more of his work. Rating: 3.8 stars.

This collection of 12 short stories was frightfully festive. While not all were my cup of eggnog I did particularly enjoy Track Santa and the clever way it was spread over 3 installments through out the book. The Christmas Card Trap was also chilling fun, as was learning what poor scrooge went through in A Christmas Carol: The Aftermath. I have just learned there is a second volume of Christmas horror stories from this author and I'm very likely to buy it as well.

So I'm going to keep this review super short and sweet...
This was a great short and scary story collection that I managed to binge read all in one sitting. Would definitely recommend this festive horror collection to any horror lover.

Gory Christmas horrors! 🎄 this was great, full of madness and brutal descriptions.
Tracking Santa story is so good! Also, I loved The Fu*cked Up Fairy. Both of these stories stood out to me being perfect reads for Creepmas. Now, onto volume two & three ✨️🎄

If you like kind of pointless gory horror and don’t have a problem with stories being a little cliche, this book might be a fun read for you. But I need my horror to either be atmospheric or to be saying something, and neither was the case for any of the stories in here. The characters were all super one-dimensional, and the stories felt way over the top, and were therefore neither scary nor entertaining to me. Which is sad, because the premises of some of these stories are genuinely great, but none of them got close to living up to what they could have been.
Track Santa: This story was broken up into three parts, which I only like when there seems to be a reason for it and it adds something to the story or the collection as a whole, which wasn’t the case here. I didn’t care about anything that happened in this story and thought the ending was quite ridiculous as well.
The Nativity of the Living Dead: This is a retelling of the Christmas story from the bible, and I think there’s so many interesting horror twists you could put on this story, so I was really disappointed by what this ended up being, because I felt like it didn’t do much with the story at all. I also struggle with detailed descriptions of giving birth to start with, but the way those things were described in here was super weird and uncomfortable to read.
Elf on a Shelf: Another story that did nothing for me and was extremely predictable.
The F**ked Up Fairy: This is about a Christmas decoration getting revenge, which sounds like it could be interesting, but I hated the tone in which it was told, and again it felt a bit cliche to me.
Secret Santa for the Sadistic: I kind of knew I would hate this, whenever the word sadistic is used outside a kinky context, I usually don’t like where things are headed. And I was right, this managed to be way over the top and boring at the same time, the twist at the end was so cliche, and the buildup to that twist was not well done at all.
The Mince Pie: Another predictable one and also really uncomfortable to read because of all the animal cruelty in it, and not uncomfortable in the way that I like in my horror.
A Letter From the Christmas Cannibal: This was still my favorite of the collection, it’s literally just a letter that cannibal writes to Santa, and I tend to like stories with formats like this. Parts of it were also quite funny when you have somewhat of a dark sense of humor like I do, but it definitely wasn’t nearly enough to save this book.
A Christmas Carol: The Aftermath: This is another one where so much could have been done with the idea, but it barely did anything and I was super disappointed.
‘Twas the Night Before Murder: This was written as a poem, and I theoretically like including something like that in a collection of stories, but unfortunately I just found it super cringe-worthy.
The Christmas Card Trap: And it ended with yet one more extremely predictable story with boring characters. I definitely hadn’t expected this book to be a new favorite, but I’m still disappointed with how there wasn’t really anything I liked in here.

Well I decided to sit down and finish this fine book of tales by Rick Wood. Now I am a fan of this author, and have called him the Dan Brown of horror, because he can keep the pace of the book or story at lightening speed. It never slows down. This book is no exception. The stories in this book are so good. There was actually a few that had me laughing so hard I couldn't believe it. Also, the stories range from a Christmas tree angel who gets revenge, a letter to Santa from a cannibal also a story where Santa has just had enough. It was just a fun gruesome fantastic read. I loved every bit of it. Get this and read it, you will not regret it.

A Nice Little Book of Holiday Horrors.
Mr. wood here has done a pretty good job of creating horror stories of a highly specific genre - Christmas. I've seen it done before; but these are much less over-the-top than previous collections I've perused. The tales are straightforward, pretty basic in plot and not entirely bathed in gruesomeness, as many collections of this type are. In short, they get the job done, without making you want to go looking for some really strong eggnog afterwards.

If you're looking for a bunch of stories set at Christmas that are full of blood-thirsty demons and general nastiness, this book is here to fulfil your Christmas wishes.
It's a collection of 12 fun, festive fables, none more than a few pages long. They're not going to change the world but they're decent enough to keep you entertained during advent. I'm going to read volume two straight away.

Absolutely loved these twisted horror short stories about Christmas and the festive season. Great for a quick read. Shockingly gruesome Santa and a really naughty fairy.....a truly different insight to Christmas because we all know Santa is good and fairies are supposed to be nice. You'll love the book. Looking forward to more from this author. Once you read one book you'll have to read them all.

Hella metal stories. Enjoyed the mix of horror and gore with Christmas. It’s always a fun mix for fans of scary movies and weird stuff like that. I loved that majority of the stories were classics with this twist. Favorite one had to be the elf on the shelf because it was too perfect for this book.

Scary Christmas everyone!
I've read my share of Christmas horror but I've never enjoyed them as much as these short stories! If you've got a dark side it's a thoroughly enjoyable read with plenty of surprises to offer.

I laughed, I shuddered, and I came away pleased I found Christmas horror to fill my cup. This was a fun anthology, not all stories worked for me but I didn’t expect them all to. This was just pure, horrific holiday fun.

What can I say! Just Wow!
It’s been a while since I have read a novel that I had to carry on reading.
Loved the short stories and I liked the length of them too.
Have to say breaking the first story up was a nice twist.
So going to read the next one.
