Can they be fearless enough to save the world's magic? Rocío Lopez and Finn Lockwood are finally reunited—but under desperate circumstances. Magic is raging, and the mage community is in chaos as the Confed struggles to hold onto its secrets. Rocío believes exposing those secrets is the key to saving the world's magic. She never wanted to become the leader of a revolution, but with her unique understanding of the crisis, taking charge may be the only way to see her mission through. Adrift from his old life after the deadly disaster that rocked his family, Finn scrambles to support the rebellion's efforts however he can. But his connections to the old-magic world may be his greatest asset—if he can find a way to bridge the divide. With tensions rising between the Dull authorities and magical society, a revolution might not be enough to turn the tide. Can Rocio and Finn find the strength in themselves and each other to prevent an even greater catastrophe?

Megan Crewe

Like many authors, Megan Crewe finds writing about herself much more difficult than making things up. A few definite facts: she lives in Toronto, Canada with her husband and son (and does on occasion say "eh"), she tutors children and teens with special needs, and she's spent the last six years studying kung fu, so you should probably be nice to her. She has been making up stories about magic and spirits and other what ifs since before she knew how to write words on paper. These days the stories are just a lot longer.

Megan's first novel, GIVE UP THE GHOST, was shortlisted for the Sunburst Award for Canadian Literature of the Fantastic. Her second, THE WAY WE FALL, was nominated for the White Pine Award and made the International Reading Association Young Adults' Choices List. Her Fallen World trilogy (THE WAY WE FALL, THE LIVES WE LOST, THE WORLDS WE MAKE) is now complete and she has a new trilogy forthcoming in October 2014, beginning with EARTH & SKY. Her books have been published in translation in several countries around the world. She has also published short stories in magazines such as On Spec and Brutarian Quarterly.

3.5 stars. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the first two in the series largely as a matter of personal preference- I don’t like it when there’s too much politics and there was a lot in this book. However it was a good end to the series and I was impressed by this new-to-me author.

ENGLISH:

"Even when you look at the most iconic heroes, what makes them heroic isn't that they always had the perfect solution. It's that they keep pushing for what's right and don't give up even after they realize they made mistakes."

Thank you so much to the author for the ARC!

Amidst the chaos and hatred, Rocío and Finn must fight to unite the forces that are damaging the magic. The mages want to attack harder to defend themselves, while the Dulls try to blame and repress those whit magic, refusing to believe the secret discovered by Rocío: that everyone can do magic. But to reach an agreement, both sides must work together to cure that erratic and uncontrolled magic that strikes the world... before it's too late and disappears forever.

I loved to return to this amazing story and read about all these great characters, seeing their evolution through the books with all their bravery and defending their ideals. I love Rocío's tenacity and how adorable and charming Finn is. They both fight for a fairer world and all that courage was impressive. They want to unite everyone for a common good, defending their beliefs until the end. That's why they were very strong and determined characters.

I also loved their interactions, the romance in this book is incredibly sweet and beautiful. There are really amazing scenes in this story and others full of adventures. There are also many great secondary characters.

The plot was really interesting and it was such an entertaining read! The book is full of action and adrenaline, and some scenes have a lot of drama. The fantasy in this story was beautiful, the author wrote with great creativity about the use of magic. Some scenes were impressive and I loved that the magic seemed to have emotions and react, it was a very original approach. Also, I loved the message of this book about how to repair magic: focusing on the good and constructive rather than the destructive.

The ending was full of action and magic, a lot of adrenaline and moments full of tension and emotions. It was a great closing for an amazing story with a lot of fantasy, magic, very special characters and a very nice message. I loved it.

Me gustó mucho.

3.5/5.

This was definitely more on the predictable side of a series, but I don't consider that a bad thing considering I went into it with that knowledge. Sometimes predictability isn't a bad thing to have in a book.

This book, as well as the whole series, was a book filled with tropes. From insta-love, to 'teenagers save the world', to a whole lot of other things. And yet, I enjoyed it. I liked the voices of the characters, the way they interacted, and the way the story came to an end. It is one I keep thinking back at, 12 hours later, in a rather fond way.

Was it my favourite thing in the world? No. But I still enjoyed it a fair amount and would recommend to people if they asked for something to fit.

A nice way to kick off 2022.

Fearless Magic is the third and final installment in author Megan Crewe's Conspiracy of Magic trilogy. The story picks up right where Wounded Magic left off. In the previous books, readers learned that any castings that caused harm or damage have ill effects on Magic itself. Magic is now fighting back hard which is causing major disruptions. Finn Lockwood and Rocío Lopez stand on the precipice of magic destroying the world unless something radical happens to change its course. The story alternatives between Finn, who has no magic, and Rocio who may be the strongest mage in a generation.

Fearless Magic is the right way to close up this trilogy by Megan Crewe. I really enjoyed reading the story of Rocio and Finn and their friends, their fight and struggles to help magic, and try to fix what is wrong in their society. Not an easy feat since we all know that it is never easy to fix issues of that sort.

The author is very skilled and knows how to keep you glued to the pages. The pace of the book is just right, never dragging the story out nor is she ever rushing you through the plot. She knows how to split up the story to different story lines whenever she needs it to tie it all together. Rocio is very smart and skilled. Together with Finn they are an incredible team and try to figure out how to solve this incredibly difficult problem they are facing with the magic hurting.

The author is fantastic in developing the characters and making you feel for these characters and keeping you involved which just keeps you so much more involved into the story.

How this all ends, well find out for yourself. I for one loved how the author "resolved" it all and really brought it all together. I just wish this would work in real live, well minus the magic. Although it would be nice if we had magic but alas we shall make do without it.

Received a very early ARC from the author and WOW! This is an amazing ending to a great series! Both Finn and Rocío have grown so much throughout this series! Finn still has his insecurities and sometimes feels less compared to Rocío who happens to be one of the most powerful mages of their generation. But Finn learns to play to his strengths. He might lack the strength in magic but he's one of those people who's a great speaker. He knows how to make people listen. He knows how to rally a crowd and make their voices be heard. Rocío on the other hand, learns that taking leadership responsibility doesn't mean you have to face those trials alone. There's always someone willing to back you up, to help you see this through the end. And I'll forever be in love with the author's ability to include Rocío's heritage in the book. If you like magic and a super sweet romance, then give this series a try!

A lovely conclusion to a great series that is full of action, adventure, danger and romance. The author did an amazing job building this world, it’s characters and storyline. Rocio’s plan to save magic just got harder now that the terrorist, Bonded Worthy, have struck and the fighting overseas has begun. With the help of her fellow Champion teammates, Finn, and the League she will do whatever it takes to save magic. Finn’s family now knows of his involvement with the Freedom of Magic League and with their support he is ready to face off with the Confederation of Mages to help his fellow burned out, damper citizens and save magic. Finn and Rocio are a great pair, a perfect complement to each other and together they take on the dull government, confederation of mages, and terrorist to not only save magic but protect their loved ones. This entertaining, well written story is definitely worth giving a read.

The magic is fighting back while Roćio and Finn are trying to show the world that things need to change. Roćio is high on the Dull governments list for trying to stop the use of magic for war purposes and Finn is trying to find his new place, being from old magic but no longer part of the Confederation. The Circle doesn't care about his last name anymore when he has been marked as a burnout. Can they protect their own when the magic doesnt want to be at their side and the fight comes to them?

I didn't think I could love Roćio any more than I already did. I am very happy with the continuation of her and Finn's stories. They have had to grow up a lot through the series and I wouldn't ask for a single thing to change.

So much it’s a stake. CAn Finn and Rocio really make everybody aware of the real problem? How magic is been hurting and it’s almost disappeared. How Dull and Mage need to work together to restore peace? A brilliant and magical story not so far from THe reality of own our world.

Tensions are at an all-time high between mages and Dulls, or non-magical people, and between mages themselves. One faction is campaigning for the use of magic only when it doesn’t hurt anyone or anything, while the other side thinks magic should be used for war and destruction, and meanwhile, the Dulls want all mages out of their city, beneficial or not. Everyone is at odds in this concluding installment in the Conspiracy of Magic series.

I loved the first two books, Ruthless Magic and Wounded Magic, with the second book having some incredible character arcs and trope inversions that I rarely see in young adult literature to the point that it’s one of the best books I’ve read this year. Fearless Magic was a fantastic conclusion to this trilogy, continuing the story of our amazing protagonists, Finn and Rocío. I loved the further character development that Crewe gives us in this book. Her writing is so captivating and draws you right into the story.

This book takes a look at political activism and what it looks like and means to stand up for what’s right and fight for the truth and good in the world. There were some scenes that drew strong parallels to the events prevalent during the summer of 2020 with the riots around the world and the Black Lives Matter movement. In this book, it’s not white versus black but instead mage versus non-mage. There were protests and disagreements galore, and both parties were seeing each other as the enemy. I couldn’t help but look at parts of this book’s plot as representative of the real world, and it’s eye-opening to see social conflicts like this from a third-party view because you see that both sides have valid points and also that both sides feel hurt by the conflicts. I thought Crewe did a really good job at writing this aspect of the story.

The characters and relationships between them in this book were so good. There is lots of tension between characters that propels the book forward. I also enjoyed seeing Finn and Rocío’s relationship progress even more in this book. Their relationship is prominent throughout the series, but the romance always remains secondary to the overall plot, which was really nice to see.

Fearless Magic was a wonderful conclusion to the Conspiracy of Magic trilogy. It’s full of political scheming, compelling storytelling, quality writing, and memorable characters who actually think through decisions before acting on them. I absolutely loved the ending, too. This book is filled with so much hope, and the ending nicely wraps up the trilogy but is still open enough for the reader to infer what happens next.

I loved this whole trilogy, and I truly think it’s one of the best young adult fantasy series I’ve read. So many of the traditionally published stories all feel the same and it gets tiring and boring to read the same story over and over, but this series was not like that. Megan Crewe brings us a fresh perspective on magic, and she constantly was surprising me with the plot. Often I would think, “I know how this is going to go because this is how it always happens,” but then I would be wrong, and there’s nothing more satisfying than being pleasantly surprised during a book. The Conspiracy of Magic series is severely underrated, and I encourage anyone who enjoys fantasy to give it a shot.

Received an arc copy from the author.

I fell in love with the serie Conspiracy of Magic from the first two sentences in the first book Ruthless Magic. It has been an experience to read these books and I'm sorry for it to end.

We left wounded magic with a bang. The seemingly successful demonstration ends with tragedy and terrorists take advantage of the confusion to create an even bigger chaos. Fearless Magic pick up from that moment as we never left.

Rocío and Finn is again reunited and faces danger from many directions. Rocío, AWOL from National Defence, hunted by the Dull Government and Magic breaking. Finn find himself pulled between his family and his fight for everyone's right to their magic. The tragic event from the demonstration and trying to make the Circle follow through on their promise makes is necessary for Finn to go in to hiding. On top of that he faces difficulties from the

I found myself feeling hunted, despair, and desperation. The characters face the difficulties like dealing with injustice and violence based on fear. To go beyond the surface and see the bigger picture. A quality rear these days.

Rocíos interaction with magic has fascinated me right from the start. In Ruthless Magic I found it to be courage to stay on the right path. In Wounded Magic I found it to be a struggle between duty and doing what's right. In this book I found magic to be healing and the power of good that overcomes evil and unites humans.

All in all, I loved it. The whole series. And reading these has been one of my greatest reading experiences. Thank you Megan!

An awesome book! Action packed! So much tension for Rocio and Finn trying to solve the magic’s pain to keep it from going wacko. Loved the other characters too. They were written in depth with a few throwing in twists and turns to the story. The descriptions of the magic and how it was effected by some bad apples throwing it into caos were very enciteful and imaginative. I was in awe at the visionary way Megan Crewe brought this series to life. I could totally visualize this as a movie. If I were to find anything negative about this story it would be the two different POV’s. Getting two perspectives in this book was a plus and a negative. It was nice seeing from both Rocio’s point of view and Finn’s however, sometimes it was confusing. If I was reading in the middle of a chapter and had to put my ereader down for a short time for a number of different reasons, then came back to start reading again, I found I had to turn back to the beginning of the chapter to remind myself of whose POV I was reading. I liked how Ms Crewe tied everything together with a vert satisfying ending. All in all this is a very entertaining read and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

In Fearless Magic, Megan Crewe provides a thrilling story with plenty of suspense that leads to a sweet and satisfying conclusion to her Conspiracy of Magic series. The three books would be best enjoyed in order (the optional prequel, Magic Unmasked, could be read separately or at any point during the series).

I love these characters and often felt a desire to cheer them on as they faced difficult challenges both internal and external. It’s very satisfying to watch them learn and grow. And I have enjoyed learning more about this world and its unique magic system. I don’t want to say too much about the plot and spoil the surprises, but I really like some of the twists and turns this story has taken. The whole experience has been a lot of fun.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys young adult urban fantasy. While this book does contain violence and death, it is not particularly graphic and seemed less brutal to me than the first book. There is no sex and very minimal swearing.

I received an ARC from the author and volunteered to review it.

Really good end to the trilogy. I liked the parallels to today and how we should try to understand people we have considered different than us and find ways to work together to make the world a better place instead of fighting and being divisive. Continued to stay pretty clean, and the plot was exciting. Definitely recommend this trilogy!

UMMMMM
I am SO disappointed! I really was hoping for the best in this one, but I didn't get it. It did not rise to the top. I really loved the first one in this trilogy, and then the prequel but these last two have gotten worse and worse. I really didn't like much of this other than the fact that it finished the story. The writing has never really been that great. The characters aren't very strong. I mean, I don't know if it's just gotten worse, or if I'm just becoming a better reader and picking up on these things, but Finn acts a lot like a girl. I mean, not like a girl's attitude or anything, just, a girlish way of thinking. Simi girly problems, and, anyway, you can just tell it's written by a woman. Which isn't good in this instance. I really want to like Finn, but I can't. Rocio's a little much for me, personally, and they're like the only people we see the whole book, although they're constantly surrounded by loads of people. In this book, I didn't even like the plot! Nothing happened, everything was hopeless although I guess everything worked out, but still, everything that could've gone wrong did, and this should have been combined with the last book. This book had no point but revealing that one secret, and making peace with the Dull and Magical governments. That all could've happened WITH the lasts book's plot all in one. In my opinion. So, yeah, a really disappointing read. It was really short, and it took me three weeks. I don't recommend this book, and I don't recommend reading this series. Although I know I've said otherwise about the other books in my reviews, now that I've read this, I'm going to have to change my mind. Lol It's just not worth it.

14+(There are SEVENTEEN-year-olds having sex, although we just see them right before, and then after. STILL! NO GOOD! No reason for it to be in there either!)

So, yeah, there's THAT thing, and there's just a little bit of language, so content isn't too bad.
