I only date for two reasons: blood and ice cream. But an errant love spell has my three man-snacks calling me their mate:
- A wolf shifter who’s an Instagram model. - A Pegasus shifter who shifts when he sneezes. - Bob.
As a vampire, I don’t need any mortals hanging around. I just want the delicious treats they provide...and their help stopping an old nemesis from destroying Silver Springs and tainting all the ice cream.
Can I save my town? Will my three mates thaw my frozen heart and teach me to love again?

This was just a weird and crazy read for me. It was a bit outlandish, which trust me I liked, I dunno I just couldn’t connect and kept either getting distracted while reading or losing interest. And trust me there’s nothing I want more than to enjoy a heroine who has a magical dildo fight, but even that scene (with epic potential) came off kind of blasé. The story felt like it started somewhere else and I should be more familiar with The Who’s and What’s. I know this is an overall series but I assumed they could be read alone. Granted I wasn’t lost or confused, the author did a great job explaining things, I just felt a little outta place. Even the men in her harem are already (at least two of them) part of her life, so there was a bit of a disconnect from my end as i had no relationship evolvement to fall back on. That being sad the story was fun, super fast paced and rather short. While there is another book with these characters, this one did end on a HEA so I think I’ll stop here.
Well this had good parts. I liked the ice cream factory not a usual location for a story. The ending was so funny. Fighting with magical dildos will stay with me for a long time. I think the book could have been a little bit longer to fully enjoy the story line more.

This book had me giggling and laughing out loud so many times I had to leave my desk. Yes, that's right, I made the mistake of reading at work and that was all she wrote folks! No real work got done as I devoured this read. I loved Sapphire but she was normal compared to 2/3 of her guys. Ford was adorable and you want to squeeze him and pet him and make it all better while trying to force feed him a Claritin or Zyrtec. Then there's Bob - sweet, perky, smiley Bob. You think nope he's way too sweet and naive to like but then bam - you get sucked by those baby blues and smile and all the awww moments! Dang Bob.....
Anyway...Finally there's Wim the normal 1/3. Sexy, alpha shifter. Yum!
So to recap: quirky characters, funny story line and just an overall great read! Go get this people and spend the rest of the day with a smile on your face.
This was a very fun read that I finished in one sitting. It moved along at a great pace which made for a very enjoyable read. It has fun characters that you fall in love with and no matter what happens you want to be there for them. This book needs to be read, no doubt about it.
I’m still searching for the catchfrases implying that a RH book is written for me. But I’m fairly certain that “a normal oblivious boy in a supernatural world” is absolutely and totally one of them. The moment I heard about Bob, I was quite certain that this book, and Bob, and me were destined to fall in love. So, I didn’t think twice, bought the paperback copy and I started reading the moment it came in.
This morning in the bus I finished this book and I can honestly say that it really didn’t disappoint. Of course, it wasn’t a complicated, layered and very surprising story. But I didn’t expect that. I expected a funny, lighthearted and heartwarming story of a vampire girl and her harem. And that was exactly what I got, although I have to admit that I was quite surprised in some ways.
One: the three boys were really very different, but in their own way all amazing. It was easy to tell them apart, to guess who was saying what and who was doing what. I think that quite soon I even managed to remember their names. Will was not entirely my type (I’m not the macho-man kinda girl. I prefer the more softer types), but especially Bob, but also Ford, really managed to conquer my heart. Ford has a lovely and tragic backstory that really makes him unique, and yet he’s so kind and understanding. And Bob? Well, Bob is Bob. Slightly naive, oblivious, but so sweet and caring!
Two: The development of the main character, Sapphire, is very well done. It’s quite hard in such a relatively short story to write a character arc that really goes somewhere and that really shows character growth, but in this case it was quite amazing and impressive. Sapphire is a very likeable character, a convincing character and watching her frozen heart slawly thawing, despite everything she has been through and everyone she has lost, was really lovely.
Three: The plot. Short stories have little time to actually develop a plot and to give it backbone and meaning. But this short story really managed to include all ingredients a good story needs. It had a villain with a good motivation and reason. It had high stakes and therefore it felt a little dangerous at times and it reached eventually a nice conclusion, even though it also has a slightly open end, leaving room for more story. And I really hope we get to read that story at some point.
I was very positively surprised and I’m totally gonna check out the other books from this author. If a short story can turn out like this, I wanna see what happens in a full novel.
Amber the first book in the Jewels Cafe series was a great short book but Sapphire was just as good if not better. Wise-cracking, ice cream addict Sapphire finds herself in the middle of a conspiracy and also a main obsession of a stalker in this book. With only the help of Win her friendly Werewolf, Ford a dysfunctional pegasus who cant control when and where her shifts and Bob a human/Tinder meal date. She has to work out whats going on. Its a damn fine joyride and a great laugh too
I’m liking how each book in the series is done by a different author but still using the same world and mentions of the other characters. The first one was romance drama and sweetness, this one goes down the ridiculous and humour route. Three guys, one ice-cream craving vampire and the bad guys. I did like how Wim and Sapphire were together. Bob might have been a bit too much. I’m liking the series.
I had enough at 42% may or may not continue, it was a bit freely and more stupid talk rather than relationship or plot development. She basically drinks a coffee and then gets super horny over a random tinder date and two of her friends that she kept getting pushing away for years.
Now this one was a tough one for me, I am rounding up this 2.5 stars. I haven't read or listened to anything by this author before and I saw their book was on sale in the big Audible sale last month but saw it was in Scribd so I checked it out there with my monthly subscription. I have listened to a book in this big shared world before and thought it was was adorable so I thought to give this one a try.
Now I kept flipping between a 2 and 3 star rating and a couple times didnt almost finish, which was sad because this one had potential but it just fell flat for me. The humor didnt work, it made the FMC frustrating for me, I did not like her at all. I liked some of the guys in the harem though, which made it more redeemable and gave it a 3 stars. I think also things jumped really quickly, the flow and pacing were off and made my head spin, not in a good way. I don't know, it just felt like it needed polishing up because like I mentioned it had some good potential. Also, the reason the bad guy was doing what he was doing confused me. I don't know if this was supposed to be totally satire, because if it was it miss the mark for me.
Narration I think didnt help with the delivery, especially the volleying with some of the humor back and forth. I don't think I have listened to this narrator before and I would give her 3-3.5 stars. I will wait to listen to more by her before deciding if I would listen to her again in the future. I think so scenes were good (the interaction with the FMC and her friend at work was one of my favorite parts/deliveries).
I probably wouldn't recommend this audiobook, maybe the story would be better but I won't be relistening to it again. I will give this author another chance, but hopefully the writing is improved from this one.
I read the first book in this shared universe and thought it was adorable. This one was just as sweet, but more in terms of it reading as pure fun and silliness. The book was quick, hilarious, and didn't take itself too seriously at all. It was a nice lighthearted RH in between all the super duper serious RH that I've been reading. I thought it had an entertaining plot, though not complex in the slightest, and the characters all seemed varied from one another.
It makes me wonder if all the books in this shared universe feature a RH with 3 males. Won't they run out of candidates eventually? I'm sure I will check out the others as sprinkles in between other reading.
Tropes: reverse harem; cute fantasy; grumpy vampire female meets 3 supernatural mates; crude language throughout; fated mates trope--it's a spell; insta-love due to spell; friends to lovers (for one of them); FWB to more (for one of them); shared universe; mentions of familial rejection; sex with multiple partners at a time; voyeurism and exhibitionism; murder and near death experiences.
Heat rating: HOT—sex scenes throughout with explicit language, which adds to the overall story and relationships.
Fun series of stand alone books in a shared universe with a little bit of character cross over.
Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...
1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.
2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.
3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.
4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.
5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.
So I have read a few books within the Jewels Cafe universe and I know they are all meant to be quick reads. This one was no exception but it did seem a little more cheesy and campy than the others. It had its funny moments for sure but I found it to be more over the top to the point it wasn’t funny a majority of the time.
The main character Sapphire left a lot to be desired. She was bitter, crude, and rather selfish. All the characters seemed to have their own hang ups with relationships and commitments. I think if the book was longer, the author could have really taken the time to flesh out those issues and work on the relationship building.
While this one wasn’t my favorite within this series, I still plan on reading more of them.
I think this series is definitely less on the serious side and more on the absurdly ridiculous spectrum of the fantasy genre. Once again, this “reverse harem” actually means over-the-top and unbelievable wish fulfillment rather than real relationships. I honestly would have enjoyed this more without the sex, if it was just about Sapphire the vampire with her supernatural besties and Bob the hapless human dragged along for the ride.
The friendship aspects of the relationships were much more interesting before the sex got involved. I’d happily read pages and pages more of Sapphire and Wim trading sassy barbs, especially if they’re solving ridiculous crimes together.
The connection with the “spark” spell in the first book is never really explained, so I’m wondering if the relationships in the next book of this series will be a bit more intentional.
The author brings her fabulous brand of crazy to this story. I'm always left with a new vocabulary after reading stuff from her. I was snorting and giggeling throughout the book.
Sapphire is a sarcastic vampire with a wolfe friend that is equally sarcastic and an pegasus shifter with wonky powers. Bob the happy human soon join them. Seriously, I need one of those magical pumpkins spice lattes.
As a treat you can get a bonus chapter from Bob's perspective in the back of the book. Woohoo!!!
I highly recommend that you one-click this gem!
Quote: Holy sh**, you could cook a turkey in my panties, I was so damn hot.
im just going to leave this snippet here and hope it does all the talking. This was in the first couple pages of the second chapter ------------------------------------- “How can you be my mate?” Wim said.
I tensed. “I would rather be eaten by snakes.”
“I would rather be trampled by rabid deer.”
“You didn’t say you had a boyfriend,” Bob said. He frowned, then shrugged. “Oh well, let’s get out of here.” He wrapped his arms around my waist.
I pulled out of his reach, and for the first time, my skin felt cold in an unpleasant way.
Sapphire is the second book in the Jewels Cafe series, and it was hilarious! Sapphire is an apathetic vampire with a love for ice cream and expensive coffee. Dating sites are used to find meals and her best friend is an Instagram famous werewolf.
Sapphire's irreverence and lack of care for and about the world around is hilarious. As she finds herself pulled into some situations she definitely doesn't want to deal with, she learns that sometimes letting others in can be **very** beneficial.
If you are looking for a quirky, spit-take inducing, medium burn story, this one is for you.
Sapphire is a 50 yr old vampire who looks in her 20's. She is very sarcastic and no tolerance for stupid people. She has Tinder dates with humans to feed her thrust for blood. So when she ends up with three mates she hates it. Win is a wolf shifter, Mumsford is a wealthy Pegasus shifter and Bob is a human. Lunsford (Ford) has allergies and is too proud to take pills. The problem is when he sneezes he suddenly shifts to his Pegasus form. Funny scenes and many laughs. There is also a link to get a bonus chapter of Bob's point of view.
This was an awesome book. I quite enjoyed reading about a vampire who falls in love and think she has fantastic taste in choosing her ice cream mates. Lots of intrigue and drama, light hearted fun and yummy time between Sapphire and her guys. I'm working my way through the Jewels Cafe series and will pause the books to give me the chance to read the second Sapphire book at the end of the month.
I liked this book. It was short and sweet and kind of weird. There wasn't much to it as far as substance but it was fun. I don't regret the read and would read more by this author. Probably only worth 3 stars for content but a whole other star for excellent editing and lack of typos, tense errors, and wrong names. You gotta appreciate someone who actually puts in the work to polish a story
This RH paranormal romance is a laugh. A quick witted vampire with a determination to avoid love and 3 mates who want to get into her pants and also her heart.
With a human, a werewolf and a pegasus-shifter all vying for Sapphires attention, and someone out to kill her, life is about to get complicated for this decades old vampire.
Ps. It's worth it just to see what this girl can do with bondage ropes and dildos (it's not what you expect - hahaha)

That darn love spell hit Sapphire, Win the wolf, Bob the human and Ford the allergy ridden Pegasus shifter. Fighting the attraction and whoever is trying to shut down Ford's ice cream factory, keeps these lovers on their toes. I read this through the KU program.
Oh la la... nothing like a bit of crime, drama and near death experience to get the loins stirring! Sapphire is a cold hearted, stubborn vampire bitch whom just can't get past her trauma enough to enjoy her life - can a spelled pumpkin spiced latte help? Or will it make it all so much worse? Great read.
Funny, fast read. Sapphire is hilarious and her men are fun as well. A shifter that shifts when he sneezes and refuses to take antihistamines... lol. A sexy wolf shifter and then there's Bob the ice cream man. The combo makes for a good read. If you need a laugh with some sexy time, this is the book for you.
I first came across the book Amber and after reading that thought let's continue the set. This one was a slower read for me, but was actually pretty good with a little suspense thrown in. I loved the characters and there were many scenes that made me laugh. Overall pretty good book.
Omg! This book was so juicy! I love women vampires with spice and Sapphire had it! Loved Bob, he made me laugh so hard I wanted to cry. Oh and just loved Ford too. He cracked me up not wanting to take his allergy medicine and then shifting when he sneezed! And Wim, how could you not love a wolf shifter! This book is a must read for me!
This series has yet to disappoint me. Sapphire is as good as the others I've read in this series and I'm not just saying that because she was my favorite character cameo in the other books. I'm saying it because she is awesome. I also loved the mystery and how even though the spell had broken, love still won.
