Kathleen Lawless blames a misspent youth watching Rawhide, Maverick and Bonanza for her fascination with cowboys, which doesn’t stop her from creating a wide variety of interests and occupations for her many alpha male heroes. Her hero, Steele, in HER UNDERCOVER COWBOY, is a modern-day cowboy, so when she was wooed by a man called Steel— while he’s not a cowboy, he is an alpha male and her forever hero. Which is why all of her stories end Happily Ever After. Not that she can ever stick to just one genre. So many stories to tell—never enough time. With over 30 published novels to her credit, she enjoys pushing the boundaries of traditional romance into historical romance, romantic suspense, women’s fiction and stories for young adults. This is a sweet Western romance, with mostly likable characters. It is novella length, but since it builds on the earlier books in the series, the author had time for more character development than most novellas allow.
It does seem like the main bad guy (Hawkes) in this series is kind of a combination of all the bad guys from the old western books/movies. He is not very original, and is just so completely evil . The series would be more believable if he had at least one or two redeeming qualities -- but he has none.
This novella is OK, but I had trouble liking Bishop. He was just so hot/cold to Rose. One minute he was kissing her, then the next telling her there could never be anything between them. He needed to make up his mind, and stop stringing her along. Rose was OK, but her plan to use Bishop and his twin was kind of annoying. She promised to help them with their problem with Hawkes, when she knew she couldn't. I get that she was desperate to find her sister, but still ...
This novella gets 3 stars from me. If Bishop had been more likable and Rose less conniving, it probably would have gotten a higher rating.
I will read the rest of the books in the series, but only because they are free in Kindle Unlimited. If I had to pay for them, I don't think I would continue the series.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
Rose is searching for her kidnapped sister. She tries to pickpocket Bishop and steal his wagon to make her getaway. Unfortunately, Bishop and his twin brother, Barron, catch her and bring her back to their family ranch. After hearing her story and some persuasion, they agree to help her in her search. Rose has had a difficult childhood traveling with her missionary parents in harsh conditions. Bishop also grew up without parents, subjected to cruel caretakers, and watching the murder of his third brother. He and his twin brother learned that they can only trust each other. Will Rose and Bishop learn that trust and commitment can form a strong foundation for a lifetime of love?
This book is #5 in the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series. It is just as engaging and unique in storyline as the previous books. There is a good amount of unpredictability, a host of supporting characters, and feelings of community, friendship, and home. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, read the series in order for the greatest enjoyment.

Another fantastic book in this series, love how this Author brings the story right to you, you feel like your in the amazing book. I highly recommend this book
Another great book in a great series. I'm really enjoying this series and getting to know the Mason brothers. I loved Bishop and Rose's story and all the characters.
This is a well written story by Kathleen Lawless. It is filled with excitement, adventure, fear and indecision at times and then to discover the happily ever after. You will enjoy reading this book.
Another great story to add to the series. I loved the mystery surrounding the characters as well as the suspense that it creates. The author drew me into the story by engaging me with the romance as well. I loved the continuation of the previous book characters as they continued their journey together. Great storytelling
This is dramatic, interesting and entertaining. Bishop and Barron find Rose trying to steal the book wagon, and decide to bring her to the ranch. She tells everyone about her missing sister, Lily, and asks Bishop for help tracking her down. Bishop isn't interested in helping, until Rose offers to help them take down Hawkes if he helps her. Bishop and Rose start to spend a lot of time together, each one determined to ignore any and all feelings they have for each other, but agree to take care of business as partners. Hawkes doesn't do much I this book, but his henchmen do. Shocking plot twists add excitement to the storyline. I can'twait to read Barron's story, so far this series has not disappointed me in any way. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
I have read every book in this series, but my enjoyment of them has been variable. I so loved the previous installment of this series, in part because I found the hero to be strong at surprisingly vulnerable, and I enjoyed the complicated backstory of the heroine. Since I loved that story so much and its charming little elements, which I won't go into here, I found myself not liking this one so much. I love that we finally got to meet the first baby of the brides. However, I had a hard time empathizing with either the hero or the heroine in this novel because of their backgrounds. They are both somewhat shady characters; it is actually odd for me, in these kinds of romances, to think of the heroine as being a bad person, a con artist in this case. Hawkes is still up to his old tricks, of course. I'll still stick with the series, of course, because I do in general like the characters and the overarching plots, but I just found myself a little disappointed in this one after how charmed I was by the previous installment.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
Of course, Hawkes is still running things in town and trying to make things as difficult as possible for the Mason brothers. He wants their land, any any treasures that may be buried there. This book also starts with the wedding of the couple from the last book - I like that the books all begin with a happy event - but it gives Hawkes an opportunity to cause an interruption in a family gathering. Rose's sister has been kidnapped, and she asks Bishop for his help. Rose is a bit of a con artist, and Bishop and Barron had their times when they did the same. This book has a nice romantic story that develops over time. It also has mystery and suspense, between Rose's missing sister and the trouble that Hawkes stirs up. I'm glad that I've had the opportunity to read all of the books in this series, and I'm looking forward to the rest of them.

This is the first of this series I've read, which follows the story of Bishop, one of a set of twins and one of the seven Mason brothers. I enjoyed the story, although it wasn't quite as 'sweet' as I'd expected. Bishop and his twin brother, Barron, are convinced to make a deal with Rose (a con artist they'd already had an experience with), who's desperate for their help finding her kidnapped sister. In return, she'll help them take down their enemy, Hawke. It seemed a bit far fetched that Rose was a con artist - considering her strict upbringing as the daughter of a traveling preacher. Rose just wants to find her sister, Lily, who was kidnapped right in front of her family. When she meets Bishop and his twin Barron, she's sure he can help her but she's not sure why he would want to. Bishop wants to help Rose but he doesn't think she really wants him. It will almost take a miracle to get these two together... or a twin brother. 😉💗🔥💕
This is the fifth book in the Seven Brides For Seven Brothers series and as with the rest of them, they really should be read in the order they are written. Each book is building on the next and continuing the story. 🥰

This was another action packed Mason brother adventure as Rose searches for her kidnapped sister Lily and falsely promises Bishop she will help him take Hawkes down in return for his help. Rose fell into being a waitress for Georgina after Mason caught her trying to pick his pocket. But it seems to me she’s destined for something more. She just hasn’t discovered it yet. Rose and Bishop spar and sparks fly between them even when he’s pushing her away. Hawkes is his usual evil self who somehow manages to not get caught nor cause a mutiny despite how horribly he treats his minions. There was plenty of humor, suspense, and romance. I can’t wait to read Barron’s story next.
A wonderful addition to the series. If you have read any of the other books in the series you will have been introduced to Bishop and may have a love-hate relationship with him. Then he helps Rose to find Lily. Hawkes is in the story causing trouble making life dangerous for the Mason brothers. I enjoyed this one it is full of love, action and danger and great characters. If you like westerns this book, in fact, the whole series would be a wonderful addition in your collection. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I enjoyed this new story in the "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers" series! Although the story has the same antagonist and connected characters you can read it as a stand alone story. It's a sweet historical western romance that is well written and nicely developed. This is an intriguing story with some romance, suspense and interesting twists. I enjoyed Bishop and Rose's story! It's really good and a fairly quick romantic read with some humor. Of course, Hawkes is there still causing problems. I look forward to reading the next story.
Bishop's Bride is the fifth book in the wonderful Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series. This story is about Bishop and Rose and their run-in with Hawkes when he kidnaps her sister. These books just keep getting better and I love meeting the family again. This storyline is well written, with danger, suspense, action, and romance.

The fifth book in the Seven Brides for Seven Brothers series, this series just gets better with each new book. This is Bishop and Rose's story. I want to read the next book. There is suspense, drama, danger, kidnapping, Hawkes is still just as evil, and romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book was a real show stopper. It was a marvelous addition to the series. However, it also is able to stand on its own rather well. It was amazing to read and wonderfully well written. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
This is a wonderful Historical Western Romance. It has endearing characters and a intriguing storyline. I can't wait to read the next book in this wonderful series.

A leitura é envolvente, com reviravoltas mantêm o ritmo ágil e a atenção do leitor. A dinâmica entre Bishop e Rose é intensa e reflete o crescimento de Bishop diante dos desafios.
