This was a hard read... and worth every second of it. The moment in the epilogue when Bucky realises why Steve was able to breakthrough his brainwashing? I had to re-read that several times because it was so perfectly crafted that my brain refused to accept it as anything other than cannon. How could an explanation so simple and obvious and period-appropriate not come from the movies or the comics.
