The One Year Salt and Light Devotional: 365 Inspirations to Equip and Encourage You to Live Out Your Calling in the World

Rate this book
This year, learn to bring the light and hope of Christ into your home, your community, and your world.
Scripture calls us to be the salt of the earth and lights in the world—preserving, flavoring, brightening, and warming the lives of those around us. But too often, it seems the world is getting more and more closed off to the hope and promise of faith. How do we bring the light of Christ to the world around us, showing His love to the people who need it the most?

In The One Year Salt and Light Devotional, beloved author Chris Tiegreen provides inspiration and practical insight on how we can offer glimpses of God everywhere we go as we live our faith in a way that begins deep inside and works its way out. Through each day’s reading, God will encourage you, move you, and use you in surprising ways to bless this world with His wisdom, power, and love.

My husband and I choose a devotional each year to read together for our morning devotion and prayer. It’s hard to find a book that will appeal to both our tastes, but this book did just that. We appreciated the historical tidbits shared as illustrations, and how each day’s entry stayed true to the theme - being salt and light in the world. A motivating way to start each day.

This was a wonderful daily devotional. There are so many things from this book that I’m going to carry in my mind and heart. I love it, because instead of asking, “what can God do for me?” (help me with anxiety, help me with my daily life, etc..) it helped me change that into “what can God help me give to the world?”.

This flip in mindset, together with reading, the Bible has helped me understand life differently, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

Great daily reminder

Chris Tiegreen’s devotionals never disappoint! The scriptures come alive every day for me. It was often a Holy Spirit moment that the daily devotional spoke what I needed to hear that day. Thanks, Chris!

One of the more useful daily devotionals I have used for spiritual growth. Not filled with warm and fuzzy fairy tales.
