I was born blind. My genes are defective. Unsuitable for breeding. That’s the only reason I don’t claim the alluring human we rescue from a slave auction. I have no intention of mating her, even if she is sterile. But when she calls me Master, I can’t help but take command. And command I will.

ARC Received from Booksprout🌱 I also got this ebook with KU.
I liked the book, having read most of the others, This book is more of a story about The relationship between Tarek🐺🍆⛲🔪🔫 and Zina💃💋, and not really a space adventure.
This is the sixth book in the series Zandian Brides. Like all the other books in this Zandian/human universe, this was a short but enjoyable read. Renee Rose and Rebel West speak about all kinds of topics, some of them gritty like the cruelty of slavery, but with a more positive approach; this is a world where Zandians and humans lost it all but still hope for a better future.
Zandians are really cute, like Vulcans with their stoicism and suppressing their emotions, but with purple skin and terribly sensitive horns ;.D (that with the horns reacting to certain emotions is always a hoot).
In Claimed by the Zandian, both main characters are flawed (he is blind and she's got a limp) and both are convinced they are unworthy of love. This is a story about acceptance, how imperfection is a perception, and the need to be loved in spite of our flaws...Who's perfect, anyway?
If you're into it, there's spanking here, a dominant alien and a submissive human that fill each other's needs.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I am an avid fan of this author. This is one of my favorite series of hers. I somehow had missed a couple of the books before this one came out and I can see that I need to rectify that. However, that still didn't stop me from enjoying this book nor did I feel lost by having missed those books. I need to read them just because they will enhance the story. Fantastic world-building, fantastic characterization, and a great storyline.
I highly recommend this to anyone that likes consensual BDSM, spankings, and compelling characters.
Before I get to my review, I do want to tell potential readers that while it's still possible to enjoy this if you haven't read His Human Vessel, it would be better if you did since one storyline and one important character first appear in that novel.
If you're looking for an erotic book with likeable characters, a fully-formed and detailed plot, decent writing, and mild/consensual DD, I'd strongly recommend this.
Both the Zanadian Tarek, who is a blind navigator (what a wonderful metaphorical juxtaposition right there), and Zina, a human former slave with a leg destroyed by , were strong and brave characters (each saves ) who you really rooted for. What particularly drew me in was that, despite their toughness, each suffered from insecurities brought on by perceptions of their physical disabilities and past emotional neglect. Their combination of strength and vulnerability really made me root for them as a couple -- particularly since Tarek wasn't harsh or domineering (he really cared for Zina from the beginning) and Zina wasn't bratty or TSTL (I'd really love to see both these character types go away). Each helped the other to realize certain hard truths about themselves, supported the other in their self-discoveries, and, in the process, grow as people. You can't ask for more in a relationship.
I also really, really appreciated the authors' featuring not just one, but two disabled characters. In a genre that is overwhelmingly white, middle-class, young, heteronormative, and abled, this diversity was refreshing to see. I hadn't rated the book before this as highly because I thought that the portrayal of Tarek's blindness was abled (he felt he couldn't reproduce because of his "defect"). Because no one argued with him, I thought the Zandian society was endorsing this ideology, but this turns out not to be true: Tarek is the only one who feels this way about himself; the other Zandians do not. It was great to see two disabled characters whose disabilities don't magically disappear; who live with them; but, ultimately, aren't .
Finally, in terms of positives, Enya was a great supporting character and I really, really appreciated the disclaimer at the beginning of the book that said this wasn't an accurate portrayal of BDSM and more or less warned us "don't try this at home." I wish more books did that.
While the writing itself is on the whole smooth and relatively error-free, I do have two quibbles. First, the plot moved too quickly and all events weren't fully fleshed out. Some of this is due to the limitations of the genre's relatively short length, but, even so, there were times when the characters were suddenly in a different location with little explanation (such as when Zina first wakes up on Zandia) or characters just seemed to appear out of nowhere (towards the beginning, the doctor, for example, suddenly started to talk via holo without any introduction). While much of the world-building was detailed (the descriptions of navigation devices, in particular), other aspects were not (such as geographical locations). Secondly, some of the prose was repetitious (the characters' same inner thoughts, for example, were repeated more than they needed to be).
4 stars.
Note: I adhere to the ratings system as laid out by Goodreads: 2 stars = it was okay; 3 stars = liked it; 4 stars = really liked it; 5 stars = it was amazing. I gave this book 4 stars because I really liked the characters and wanted them to have an HEA. I also really appreciated the representation of disability. I do not think that every book I read is "amazing;" further, I think that it cheapens the rating system to always assign 4 or 5 stars. If a book really earns the 4 or 5 stars (and I realize that this is, to some degree, subjective), I'll give them -- but it certainly shouldn't apply to every book. YMMV, and everyone should enjoy/rate these books as they wish.
Additional Note: I did not receive this book as an ARC; I'm not another author who hosts or is hosted by other authors in this genre on our websites; and I'm not friends with the authors IRL, "friends" on this site, or friends on any social media site.
Another great addition to the Zandian Brides series.... not a series to be missed if hot aliens is your thing!
Tarek was born blind and and a really rough upbringing by a father that blamed him for his own blindness. He still struggles with his disability even with the advanced tech that has allowed him to see, just not in the traditional sense, but this tech makes him invaluable to the Zandians and he is able to see and plot things, piloting and navigating their ships in a unique way. But even the Zandians consider him gruff and cold, emotionless and they tend to avoid him. He has no desire to have a mate, having removed himself from the mating program.... who would want a defective mate, plus he has absolutely no desire to pass on his defective genes to a child and has no plans to father any either.
Zina is a carer for a human child on Ocretion, the child, Enya, was taken from its mother as soon as it was born. Enya is a beautiful child, even for human standards, and has generated a lot of interest, even though she is too young to be sold. That is until their master finds an auction with a lower age limit and they are taken.
It turns out Enya is the child of the mate of the top Zandian doctor, they have tracked her and put together a rescue mission. Tarek is part of the mission, not allowed to actually partake but be ready with the ship, When the two human are brought on board he is smitten with Zina in a way he has never felt with another female.
Zina is lost when they get to Zandia and Enya is taken from her, she feels worthless and useless, and finds herself applying to work alongside Tarek in navigation, even though she knows she has no skills in this department. Tarek knows this also, but cannot help but try with her, unable to keep his hands off her as their chemistry soars.
A great read, you really get to feel for both these two, both feeling like they have nothing to offer and have suffered a lot, before they open up to each other and really cannot stand to be apart. Tarek tries his best to stay away, feeling that Zina could do better, especially seen as he doesn't want children, and she loves them. There are some real heart wrenching moments in this, dramatic at times, extremely hot of course with the Zandian love of spanking their human mates to keep them in line! A great series this, not to be missed for some hot alien sci fi action.
A wee bit of false advertising here, and the claiming in this volume is with some reluctance of the part of Tarek, who being born blind doesn't consider himself a candidate for healthy reproduction with a human female.
I'm somewhat uncomfortable discussing this book as I don't think I possess the background and understanding to do so in a sensitive matter. I would cheer authors being inclusive with characters that are visually impaired or with other disabilities (Zina has a deformity in her leg from an improperly healed fracture) but I'm not sure this is best presentation of that. Tarek is blind though a valuable navigator (which I do love, particularly the metaphor in play) but he constantly questions his self-worth. Zina, on the other hand, is the worthless non-breeder with the bad leg who is believed to be sterile.
SPOILER ALERT: More of a personal complaint, but I really dislike the miracle baby trope. Human women that are unable to have children don't generally get to have miraculous surprise pregnancies, and it's painful to see constant fictional reinforcement that the be-all-end-all of a true love will result in a child, because true love with conquer over your "disabled" uterus.
Anyway, again I'm not completely comfortable with this. I'm not sure people with disabilities/impairments or other handicaps must always have that such in the center of their existences that it becomes its own plot device. Maybe it can be part of their identity and just that, a part, but not the definer?
END SPOILERS!
Both Zina and Tarek are likable characters, and there is genuine sweetness in their romance. Their HEA made me happy, and what more can you ask for in a romance novel? I do recommend this book, even with my reservations intact.
This is a heart wrenching tale by this dynamic duo. Tarek doesn’t want to pass down his defective genes to an offspring so he’s not even going to petition the king for a mate. Zina is lost without a purpose once she and young Enya get rescued because Enya is taken away from her and she was like a surrogate mother to her. Will Tarek give Zina purpose? I am loving the series and I can’t wait for the next installment!!
Slepý válečník a žena s poškozenou nohou/náhradní matka dítěti co už našlo svou pravou matku. Oba mají své bolesti kvůli kterým si neuvědomují svou hodnotu a věří že nejsou hodni. Skvělý vývoj postav, dojemný příběh 🖤

I am always looking forward with anticipation for the next book in the Zandian Masters series! “Claimed by the Zandian” is the next book in the sub series: Zandian Brides and does NOT disappoint! Renee Rose and Rebel West are talented and prodigious authors! The stories are creative, imaginative and keep us involved with the characters and the plots are carefully crafted to arouse the interest of new, fascinating and compelling qualities which captivate us throughout! Zina and young Enya are rescued at a slave auction and transported to Zandia. Tarek, a BIG, strong, HOT Zandian, is the blind navigation officer on the ship and is attracted to Zina. He has received technologically to help him adapt and to have a unique and important role in Zandian’s society. Due to his disability, he feels he doesn’t deserve a mate and attempts to deny his strong feelings for her. Zina feels underserving due to her twisted leg and sterility implants and Yes, she is definitely attracted to Tarek! Despite having a physical limitation, she is strong, loving and protective in the face of terrible and painful circumstances. Once she is set free, she is determined to find her place in an unfamiliar world and having a stubborn, Dominant, HOT Tarek, at her side would be wonderful! The story left me breathless, crying and shaking with anticipation throughout! Hoping they would find their way to each other. The scene where Tarek is maneuvering his way out of an area filled with debris is riveting! I felt, as if, I was there! Yes, in his ship, holding my breath, as he worked to get us out of there and to safety……. The characters are real, their feelings, their emotions… their disabilities do not define nor deter them from reaching all that they can achieve! This is a beautiful, love story with lots of sexy, hot scenes, danger, action and is fast paced and definitely holds your attention!! Hopefully, the next book will arrive soon!! LOVE THIS SERIES.
I love this series. I always look forward to the next book in the series, because they never disappoint!
Zina is a slave who has raised other young slaves just for them to be taken away later. She is raising a slave girl who is 9 yrs old (Enya) and is just trying to keep her safe. But the Ocretians have decided that they don't have to wait to sell Enya and they throw Zina in as a bonus. Of course Zina would do anything for Enya, because she raised her from an infant and she feels like a mother to her. So she decides that even tho both of them might not make it out alive, she will sacrifice herself to make sure Enya does.
Here is where the Zandians come in. They are looking for a certain slave. They plan on rescuing that slave from whoever buys them. You find out they are looking for Enya for some reason. And tho Zina gets injured Enya won't leave without her. They end up saving both females.
Tarek is a blind Zandian. He feels like he has no value and just wants to be a warrior. But he does have a device planted into his brain which helps make him the best pilot the Zandians have. As soon as Tarek sees Zina the sparks start flying!
I don't want to spoil the book so I won't tell you all the awesome things that happen after that But let's just say that you don't want to miss out on this book! There is plenty of steadiness and Tarek ends up learning he isn't expendable. He is actually very important!
Tarek and Zina have no idea of their own value... but maybe they can help each other truly see themselves.
For me, the magic of this book was two characters who had no idea they were capable contributing people, who thought that others were discarding them or, in a sense, tolerating them, discovering, through the eyes of another, just how amazing they truly are.
Tarek is as fierce, muscled, and powerful as any Zandian... but he is blind. He sees the world in an entirely different way, and that perspective is fun and led to a lot of wonderful scenes.
Zina has lived her life as a slave, trust comes slowly for her, but watching her explore her boundaries on a new world... and test Tarek's boundaries, was great fun.
I have read other stories in with the Zandian characters in this Universe, but I kind of skip around, reading whatever sounds good in the moment... as a result, I am less aware of how any great arcs might be building. That being said, this story stood alone great. It was an immersive, quick read, done in one that I wanted to devour in a single sitting... with a lot of the kinky moments fitting in perfectly with the flow of the story and situations, and not feeling forced by the Zandian culture.

I really liked this story with Zina and Tarek which has such a unique backstory. Tarek was born blind but has technological implants that allow him to be fully functional in Zandian society and one of their best navigators. He is on the mission to rescue one of Bayla's children from her breeder farm days. Zina has taken care of Enya for years, fights to protect her and ends up being rescued too. Zina had a hard life as a slave and has an old leg injury she has had to live with until she is healed by the Zandians.
Since Tarek is more familiar with humans he is tasked with settling the two after their rescue and the attraction and trust between the H/h is quickly developed. This couple have much to overcome with Tarek wanting Zina but feeling like he can't mate with her because of his handicap and worry about passing along his genetic handicap. Zina has to deal with losing her little one to her natural mother as well as finding a way to be close to Tarek. She says she wants to be a navigator so she can be close to Tarek during training and so the core of the book begins.

This is another book by authors Renee Rose and Rebel West. TAREK, a Zandian, unable to see, but for the high-tech implants, that was planted in his brain, which alows him to sense items and people and also navigate the ship. Tarek, along with his captain and other warriors, landed on a lawless planet to rescure a young slave girl from an auction, which is a human child of Bayla, Dr. Daneth's human mate, that was taken from her right after birth. ZINA and her young ward Enya, are brought to this planet to auction off young Enya, when Zina caused an commotion, which enabled them to escape, but was soon capture by two men, Zandian warriors and is now heading to Zandia. After sensing Zina, Tarek was instantly attracted to her, feels he is unworthy of taking a mate because of his disability and the long Zina is with Tarek she feels the same, but she too feels unworthy to have a master, because of her bad leg and her inability to have children. Can these two people find love in this torn planet, to live happy ever after. I am volunteering to leave a review for a ARC of this book.

Born blind, Zandian starship navigator Tarek has convinced himself that he's defective and will never have a mate, but no one ever made him feel what the newly rescued human female Zina does, and despite his best intentions, he can't stay away.
Tarek is the first man that former slave Zina has ever been attracted to. This is one man she doesn't mind calling Master. Her heart is set on Tarek but they don't stand a chance unless she can get him to see himself the way everyone else sees him - brave, capable, and highly skilled - a person of great value.
As always, an awesome read by Renee Rose and Rebel West. This is one of my favorite Zandian stories. Tarek and Zina have such great passion for each other. She is bold and not afraid to go after what she wants and he is a bit of a tortured hero with a great heart. I loved them and their very special romance.

This story like the rest of this series is absolutely fantastic. If you like SciFi with a twist of dominance and/or spankings etc this one should be right up your alley! I was so thankful when I started reading these stories that there had been a number of them already published so I could binge on them. Now I wait and wait and wait with hope there will be more and now we have a new story!! How thankful I am. This story like so many before from these authors had me reading from start to finish, not even able to fetch a cup of coffee... So that says it all I think. Loved it, loved it, loved it and loved it some more... Hope you enjoy it also and WOW how deserving this story is of the five stars - had they been ten or fifteen it would have gotten all those as well... Hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did!!!

Tarek and Zina ultimately discover that their physical limitations do not determine their self worth, or restrict their future with each other.
The book began with some action and suspense as Zina tries to protect Enya. Then it takes a turn as they acclimate to a Zandian way of life. There is a little more action later in the book with Tarek.
The one thing that bothered me was the way Zina was treated regarding Enya after they arrived on the planet. I kept expecting Lamira to step in with words of wisdom of something.
I actually expected more interaction with some of the earlier Zandians, but I guess that is what happens when you rewrite other people's book in your mind. Lol!
Overall, a very quick read with some action, suspense, and a number of steamy moments.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from the author.
Zina has been caring for Enya since forever. She wasn’t about to let anyone hurt her or abuse her for that matter. CPT Daryk was on a mission, find Bayla’s lost child. Tarek, is the navigator that will help find her. He may be blind but he can still do his job. When they come upon both Enya and Zina, they know that they will be saved. Humans are precious to the Zandians. Feeling form between Zina and Tarek. They both see the other as damaged but they are both fighters.
This one will tug really hard at your heart strings. I was heart sick for Zina, Enya and Tarek. They all suffered. The connection was so strong for these two that you knew it would be the best of them all. I love these two. There are a few surprises throughout the story but it’s the hot Zandian sex that is the best of it all. I could have kept on reading about them. I hope we get more stories.
Tarek believes that his blindness makes him a lesser Zandian and unworthy of a mate. When a rescue mission brings him in contact with Zina, Tarek starts to feel things he shouldn't. He believes that he can never be her mate but he also can't stay away. After their rescue Zina feels lost without being able to care for Enya. Spending time with Tarek is the only thing that gives her any pleasure. Oh what pleasure it is!! When the consequences of their actions catch up with them, Tarek does what all men do(human or alien) he runs. Actually he flies off on a very dangerous mission that goes wrong. Will Tarek have the chance to realize how worthy he truly is or has he missed his chance for a HEA?

“Claimed by the Zandian” is quite possibly my new favorite in the Renee Rose and Rebel West series. In it, we meet Zina and Tarek, and the sparks are instant. Like in the other stories, Ms Rose and Ms West do a great job interweaving other characters from the series while still giving considerable time to Zina and Tarek. Zina is sweet and charming with a big heart; while Tarek is dark and brooding and many of the soldiers have a healthy fear of the expert navigator. The story flows well, the characters are likeable, the naughty bits are oh-so-naughty leaving no doubt as to who is in charge, AND one of the plot threads from other stories is re-introduced. All in all, this was a grand read and I’m already eager for the next story.
This might be my new favourite from this series! Tarek and Zina both have their own challenges - he is dark and brooding and perceives he cannot take a mate due to his blindness, whereas she is more open despite her physical limitations and has a strong, loving and protective character. As usual the sparks fly and I devoured the pages watching the dance back and forth as Tarek struggles with letting himself go. I liked the underlying message that a ‘weakness’ can actually be a strength. Great to see the characters/storyline’s from other books popping up. Heat factor was high as usual - the dominance beautifully written as always, loved it!

Zandians and humans make the best couples In this book we have 2 broken souls, he is blind and feels second class and she has to overcome a lifetime of harsh slavery, humans are at the bottom of the space world chain There’s plenty of cameos from other characters from past and (hopefully) future books. While set in space, a lot of events here made me think of military families and that kind of dynamic. The sex scenes are hot , my main takeaway was the connection had fun with these two I was expecting a darker more angsty book , the hard issues were solved a little too easily Still, highly recommended

Renee and Rebel have done an awesome job of this book. Its thrilling to read it really is. I love all the Zandian books, and each has their own unique story. In this story it sees one blind Zandian who dosnt think he is fit to claim a human as his own. He fears he will pass is own condition on to others. But what he dosnt realise is that after point of punishing Zina is that he wants her, to master her to own her, but that cannot be. Taking her home, it takes Zina a while to think on what she wants to to, or can do. But what she wants to do is learn navigation like Tarek, even though she does not understand whats involved she will do anything to be near or by him.
Definately worth 5 stars and a high recommendation to one click now
Zina and Enya escaped from being sold as slaves and right into the arms of the Zandians who were looking for Enya, the Queen’s daughter. Tarek was blind from birth but had sensors put in by Dr. Daneth so he can see without his eyes. He and Zina knocked heads on the ship to Zandia and it all took off from there. It was a very well written story with lots of sexy times and punishments. We visited some of the characters from past books and enjoyed our two main characters’ development. I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I received an ARC and voluntarily left an honest review. Exciting - Entertaining – Delicious
I loved this story because it brings together a couple, Taryk and Zina, who both feel a bit less worthy than others for very different reasons. Taryk is blind but this doesn’t hold him back from too much, and in fact, his lack of vision allows for clarity in other ways. I liked watching Zina try to figure out what to do with her life-so much choice which has never been available to the former slave. There's some action and tense moments, as well as a couple tender times. The whole family aspect made this a feel-good read, while still keeping it rainbow sexy.
I received a copy of this book. My honest review is voluntarily provided.
I loved this story. It is my new favourite and I have read them all! Tarek and Zina each have physical imperfections - Tarek is blind and Zina was a slave held be the evil Ocretions and has a crippled leg - but they each find a way to rise above their difficult circumstances. As they fall in love, Tarek has the most difficulty coming to terms with who he is and, of course, Zina is central to that growth. I loved the way they interacted, how Zina trusted Tarek from the start as well as the secondary love story surrounding Bayla and Enya. I highly recommend this book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Both Tarek and Zina are held back by their physical injuries. Tarek being born blind and Zina having suffered throught a horrible childhood. Both believe that this excludes them from having a happily ever after. Both are equally wrong, in this and other things. Also we finally get to meet Bayla's daughter! Ms. Rose is really great bringing realistic emotions and reactions to situations that could really happen. Minus the aliens and other worlds and etc. Love this series. And the original Zandian Masters series. They got me started on Renee Roses books. I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
Tarek’s has been blind since birth but because of medical technology he is able to function so well that no one would realize he is blind. He pulls at your heart strings when he believes he is not fit to have a mate because of his blindness. When he met Zina he is drawn to her, and can’t seem to stay away. Zina, who has always been a slave, is also attracted to him and the sexual interaction between them is explosive. There is a lot happening in this book which makes for a fantastic read. I would highly recommend this book along with the others in this series.
